If this was my car i’d remove the droplinks completely and secure down the roll bar then take it for a drive (very carefully) to see if the clonk has gone. If so, at least you know its not your coilovers and is either a drop link or the roll bar itself. If its still there then its gotta be the spring/shock or topmounts.

Wasn't aware that you could source them from a Toyota dealer so price factored in a bit of the shipping and import fees as it came from Japan. Buyer has been notified

I had a Sprintex supercharger previously (and several turbo cars) and preferred the progressive, more predictable and 'big engine' feel of a supercharger.
The Harrop is a more grown-up supercharger with its Eaton core and intercooling over the Sprintex and is much quieter in operation (no whine).  It also has no lag so, together with the excellent tune from Abbey, responses are lightning fast.  There is some parasitic load but it doesn't affect responses and power is up by 50% to just over 300bhp which is plenty.  To be honest, it just feels like it's a 3.0l engine.
The combination of the excellent OEM feel of the Harrop kit and Abbey's attention to detail in the installation are just what I wanted for a car that is my daily all-season driver.

True but if you go through a deep puddle even without a turbo you risk thermal shock cracking the hot exhaust manifold or warping a hot brake disc etc. I’d still rather have the turbo placed lower than higher in the engine bay and be sure to avoid deep puddles.

Yes totally thats exactly why I went SC. I didn't want an UEL catless header as I didn’t want to risk failing DB checks on track days. Also keeping two cats stops any worries about MOT’s in the future. I was only aiming for 280bhp, so SC gave me the power bump without increasing noise.

Yep all the oil cooler thermostats let a little oil past even when closed. This is to better balance the temp difference to prevent thermal shock of the thermostat opening and then suddenly a load of cold oil rushing into the engine.
But the oil being too cold can be just as bad as it getting too hot. So some people block off their coolers until they get to track.
I put a square JDM front numberplate on and as it hangs down in front of the vent it blocks the airflow to my Mishimoto oil cooler enough to get heat in the oil for daily driving. I then just take it off or put the UK style plate back on when I get to the track.

Personally I don't rate HKS kit. Was good in the 90’s but not impressed with the last 10 years of their kit. And I don't think there is anything wrong with the stock pickup.
I got the Cosworth sump baffle and a Mishimoto thermostatic oil cooler. Job done. Decent kit and worry free track days

Probably not. Drone tends to be caused at the backbox. So probably only slightly louder than usual with just an UEL manifold.

AD08R's have very stiff sidewalls that are a lot stiffer than even a PS4 XL. I think if you went to a normal XL tyre you'd notice a difference.

I’m cautiously optimistic. Styling definitely not sure on. I’m surprised people thought the car would be an all new platform etc. Subaru are effectively the manufacturer and their general development is glacial at best. Not a complaint, just an observation. The photos show the general platform is very similar, a lot of the tooling might even be transferable. Gives hope that development cost will be low helping to keep the price reasonable. Additionally one can hope this allows a strong aftermarket. Hopefully this will keep the spirt of the car similar to current which is good as far as I’m concerned. Really I’m just happy that this type of car still exists.

Hey peeps, just thought i’d share my findings for those interested.
I bought a Japanese spec car numberplate mount (£24 from Toyota - part number SU003-01539) and a 13x8 front plate.
My theory appears to have worked and now off track just driving around town and up/down the motorway my oil temps are around 74c. So an improvement of around 11c.
I’ve got a Nurburgring trip next month so i’m planning on driving there with the new square plate so its blocking airflow to the cooler and will just switch back to my UK size front plate just before going on track so that I have full cooling.
Its just two small plastic screws so takes 30seconds to switch plates.

I'm not running the Mishi cooler, just the Mishi stat. But all the oil coolers have the same issue.

Try Subaru info as I'm fairly sure they are used in multiple engines and like all the parts on this car, they are just re-branded Toyota and given the Toyota part number.

    Hi All,
I’ve been tinkering with my Scangauge to show my Oil Temp and Auto Gearbox Temp.
Most codes you’ll find online are for the FRS so they are in DegF instead of DegC, but i’ve managed to get a load of useful gauge codes and thought I’d share. I’dd add more useful codes as I find them.

Leeky reacted to Kodename47 in Help Trying to get pop and bangs
On most tunes you have to feather the throttle when you lift off as otherwise the ECU cuts fuel, so you won't get any noise.
@leeky you should be able to do that quite easily, usually a sign of too much fuel

Leeky reacted to Church in Help Trying to get pop and bangs
Pops &  bangs come from ecu tune. By keeping injecting fuel and adjusting ignition and exhaust valve timings with such "feature" in ecu tune unburnt fuel gets thrown out in exhaust where it further burns/detonates producing those bangs.
It's not as if cat deletion is how to get those,  just that with such tune cats won't live long but can soon/easily be damaged, thus better not done on car with still catalisators in it.
My own view would be to not bother with such things. To me unless those bangs are from real function such as turbo misfiring system/blow off valve or alikes, hearing such bangs from NA engine seems a bit too much of posing (alongside would be hated  by all neighbors & becoming cop magnet). One thing is just reasonably louder exhaust, another something that rather hurts performance or damages parts. Imho not worth it. Like fitting uber-oversized rear wing on car that is only daiily driven, with mostly biggest impact being hurt fuel economy due increased drag.

I do around 10 track days a year. I have only 1x oil change done per year and its done by Toyota using the standard oil they recommend for these cars.
I have a Cosworth baffled sump but no oil cooler and I drive the car hard - but I never do more than about 10 minutes of full on hard driving.
I come in for a cool down on a regular basis. But I check the oil before and after every track day. The level never goes down and its always as clean/clear as the day it goes into the engine.
I think Toyota designed the cooling/oil system on these NA cars to be more than tolerant to the amount of abuse you can give them on track. But I just stay mindful that too many hard laps without a break is bad for any car.
