I think it depends a lot on what interest rate they are offering you. That will tell you what the repayment is going to be. If you pay back at the minimum rate and have a big balloon at the end you may get it under £300.
I think reviews seem to be positive so far, though it's UK reviews that count. If they're really good, they won't be going cheap come June 2023.
I don't expect it to quite go like the GR Yaris as its not a homologation special. Still at least you can get heated seats!

This is the person who made the comments there on that Toyota Mag site.
Bottom line is simple, if you are buying it as an investment car, dont think of it that way. If you are buying it as a car to enjoy and keep for the next 10 yrs or so to enjoy the front engine rwd pure sports car ethos, then yes go for it. It is superior to the GT86 in nearly every way.
Financially , like Lauren said, what deals will you get is a ?
Personally, having driven the manual BRZ for so long and getting frustrated with the local traffic, i am interested in the automatic but will only buy if it comes with the Subaru safety and convenience kit (now called Star by Toyota in their Canada launch) which has the auto emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, remote car start and heating/air con start. So waiting for more info...
If they come to the UK as specced above ( which is the Canadian spec), for me , its a worthwhile upgrade as a comfortable GT car as am not after a track weapon.

Wow very detailed review Lauren, I had a test drive in one yesterday in the Northwest also, here are my quick thoughts:
The colour was Navy Blue, bit of a boring colour to be honest and doesnt show the lines of the car off very well however the car itself is amazing! Inside is all leather and like you said it's a similar driving position to the 86, I noticed the sills are very wide and the windscreen is pretty narrow (almost like looking through a letterbox) but it gives the car more of a sporty feeling.
I was very surprised how fast the car was and how well it put the power down through the rear wheels. The transmission is savage when flooring it and I've never experienced a car which changes gears so quick! When driving it's pretty quiet inside the cabin however outside it sounds unreal.
However with this being said, when compared to my GT86 I find the A90 boring... yes the Supra is a lot faster but the automatic transmission in it makes the driving experience a bit too lazy because the car does eveything itself. When I was driving home after the test drive, the 86 made me smile more because when getting on it your able to give the car some abuse and I'm physically able change through the gears on the twisty roads myself.
I'm really hoping Toyota are able to give this new Supra a manual transmission option so it gives the driver more of a connection with the car because I feel that's what's lacking the most. I have no doubt there will be a gradual release of different options and specs and it would also be interesting if the car came with a Targa roof like the MK4.
Because of these reasons mentioned above I'm in no rush to put my name on the waiting list with the hope of Toyota listening to people who have similar views to mine...

You know what, even though personally I would quite like the classic spoiler look...It's not a game changer, and perhaps not having a spoiler and being "rarer" is actually quite appealing.  Might hold off for the time being. Thanks for the advice though.

Yeah car parts are mega expensive I want 2017 TRD front lip which looks cool but £800! Regards your badge placements. So some GT86 differ greatly with badges too I have noticed, example mine has no side new 86 circle badges which confused me so I Googled some car images and seems some have no badges, some have them. So it is probably a spec/no spoiler thing as  mine just GT86 on bottom right thing or 2017/18/19/20 Model year difference.

+1 To Sam's comment. Non spoilered boot lids are very rare and sought after. So wouldn't be surprised if someone is very keen to swap.

I would see if another red gt86 wants to swap boots with you. Lots of people want a plain boot to add their own spoiler on without having to fix the holes that are left behind by the standard spoiler. Changing boots is a very simple job of a matter of a few bolts on the hinges unplugging and chasing through the wiring for the number plate lights and changing number plates.

Glad to hear I'm not on my own.  Duck bill is nice, but I kind of like the original (also with the slight chance I can trade in a few years when the finance is up as OEM).  I've seen some boot + spoliers on ebay but they're £300+  Also some have the Toyota badge on the left or the GT86 badge on the left... Not sure why mine has not Toyota on the left but I quite like it.  And quite pedantically I like the GT86 badge where it is now on the right!

Yes it is configurable, mine (an 86)  only the drivers door unlocked with the smart entry. I changed it to both doors with this method (credit to codename47 as it was from his post):
Use the drivers door handle to open the door Leave the door open and hold the lock and unlock buttons on the fob for 5 seconds You'll hear a couple of beeps Voila - your drives handle now opens both doors. This can be repeated to reverse if wanted!

The glass part of the policy is separate from the main policy and it's just an additional cover they offer. You don't have to declare it on renewal. TBH, you can just ask them what their policy is.

I'm amazed to hear the ages of some of you. I think it's fantastic (I appreciate I sound condescending). I'm 30 years old and it makes me smile knowing that some of you guys still in 60s are out there enjoying cars. Gives me hope for the future!

The sad story of my car was a 65 year old retiree bought his dream car for retirement, and died from undiagnosed cancer 3 weeks later. That's how I came to get my car. It's a 69 plate that I picked up this July with 200 miles on the clock... the family only sold it to me because they knew it was my dream car. I couldn't pay anywhere near it's true value. I felt bad at the time for buying someone else's dream, particularly at the price they sold to me. They seemed happy to sell it to an enthusiast though. It makes me happy and I think as a car lover who is way too attached to his car. If I ever had to get rid of my car, giving it to someone who would appreciate it would make me happy. Anyway, it was a sad story and I truly felt sorry for the original owner (also, called James and he had the same birth date as me... another reason the family sold it to me! interesting coincidences!)

Anyway I'm way off topic. But it just made me think. Congratulations and welcome to the world of the twins (GT86/BRZ). Enjoy it, they're fantastic cars and I hope you'll be able to enjoy this one for 15 years. Quite reliable, decent servicing costs. Fun... has backseats (that can be used in a pinch!)... fold the seats down and it becomes very practicable. I've had hatchbacks (208gti) that had less space for luggage etc!

Anyway take care and enjoy your new car. If you have any questions. The two UK forums are more than enough to help you. Neither, as active as they both use to be, but still enough.

I took my old garage door to the tip in the 86.

To be honest the Corolla purchase in 2005 was never intended to be a long term affair.  It just never broke down, ever! So I became attached. Ironically it was still running fine, but someone in a 19 plate Golf R drove into it outside a supermarket whilst I was shopping and it became an instant write off.  I felt I needed to stay with Toyota and here I am (albeit Toyota with a Subaru engine).
Thanks, it's really so nice and tactile to drive.  I have zero regrets.
    That's what I keep telling everyone, I'm just full-on embracing it! 😂

I'm 40, Have owned 4 cars total since 1997 when I passed my test.  My last one, a 53 plate 1.4ltr Corolla lasted me over 15 years since I purchased it in October 2005.  Always loved the look of the GT86 but never owned a car more powerful than a ride on lawnmower.  Picked my 66 plate up on Sunday and I've been grinning ever since!  Better late than never.

I got one of these into an RX8 once without compromising seating or using the ski-hatch, so I know what I'm talking about!
55" TV, new toilet, £1200 of paint, all went in the '86 (not at the same time!). Quite a list of quietly surprised retailers in my wake.
