After a month, I finally have my GT86 home.
    I bloody love it! 🙂
The car really is as good as I'd hoped to drive, and I even go against the trend, and love the engine. 35mpg, but fun and revvy, I'm well aware it's not blisteringly fast, but it's a brilliant engine in my opinion.
Handling is fantastic, as pointy as expected, will be interesting in the wet.
I paid 11k for a 2013,1 owner, full toyota history car, with 67k miles. I think I've done well, has a few stone chips, but they resprayed the bonnet (hence the delay), so the front is great.
Couldn't be happier so far, the GT86 is a gem of a car.

Ha agreed its the spare remote, the car was a gross inside when I purchased it back in March, the previous owner looked after the exterior but clearly didn't look after the interior/fobs etc.  The car interior got a full detail yesterday alongside the fob.

Great minds, I'm trying to record as many jobs as I can while rebuilding my BRZ, hopefully someone finds them useful.
When remotes stop working some people assume they are broken, and google it, adding that helps it pop up in the search results and may help people find what could be an easy and cheap fix.

I think another boxer engine would be a wrong move, could Toyota not fit the 2 ltr BMW engine to the new 86 it would seem the simple option.

Boxer is not the only means to get COG of car low. New Supra has lower COG then twins even with much higher and heavier inline-6. And boxer has drawbacks like limiting space for wheel clearance (imho main reason why our cars stock have relatively shallow max steering angle vs other cars of similar size) and is more PITA to work on due reduced clearance in engine bay (recalling official procedure on changing plugs .. with lifting engine up for that). I'd rather wish for Honda inline-4 high-rpm screamer with 9K redline and more advanced variable valve tech. Losses in COG could have been a bit compensated with lower overall weight of engine and even higher power per displacement.

Deal is done, here is a photo of the car.  Due to being self employed I have work commitments until the end of the month but the dealer is willing to store the car for me until then.  So I won’t actually be picking the car up until the end of this month.  Can’t wait for the 120 mile drive home.  Thank you all for your help and advice, really appreciate it.

My car was booked in for Monday just gone have heard nothing official from RRG ( second time cancelled) by the time this gets sorted I might be living five and a half hours away so wont be done.
I wouldn't worry too much about it anyway if your engine goes bang it will just get fixed by Toyota.

I do love the Alpine. Had a really good look at one at a car show, the attention to detail is very cool and I reckon if I had £50K to burn this is a real contender to the Supra. The Alpine has received excellent reviews all round. Think the BRZ stood up well though, uncomplicated and well sorted handling is something to savour I think.

I went to this musuem in Nagoya back in 2014. They do have quite a lot of other cars there as it is laid out by year or decade really. Some interesting stuff there for sure from rare JDM only to the Deux Chevaux and everything in between. I've shoved in some pics of my visit there.

GT86-Ian reacted to Quantum in HELLO! I've bought my first car!
    Hi all,
I've just put a deposit down on a beautiful orange GT86. I've been on the lookout for a car for a while and I've had a rollercoaster of an experience.
So I had 2 cars lined up one weekend, an orange 86 with black trim for the roof of the car, wheels and windmirrors. Very nice car but slightly high miles (72k). I phoned up Friday to reserve the car and it turned out that someone had put a deposit on the car and made the purchase that evening.
Fine, not a problem, there was modified blue GT86 I was to be seeing that Sunday. On Saturday I get a notification on Facebook that the listing has been removed....hmmm. I message the lad and unfortunately the poor fella has been in an accident and written off the car :(
Thankfully nobody was injured and he's okay which is good news.
I have now been able to purchase a 2016 orange GT86 with 54k miles on the clock, single owner for £11.9k. Very happy with my purchase and can't wait to pick it up!
I've been driving my dad's Audi A1 and been wanting my first car for a while. I've got a lot of plans for modifications!
Anyway, just wanted to post here and say hi to all!

    Hello All,
New to the forum, or at least new to posting as I forgot my password! Joined a few years ago with a view to getting an 86, ended up with a fast Focus instead, still had the itch for an 86 though so bought one a year ago.

Absolutely love the car, have done a few minor modifications so far including Tein Flex A’s, HTA lip kit, Whiteline ARB’s and strut brace and a TRD spoiler.  New wheels, brakes and exhaust will be next, just aiming to make a few subtle changes to an already great car!

Was hoping to get to a few shows with the club this summer, doesn’t look likely currently, but roll on 2021!

    Ben.

This week I fitted Vland V2 tail lights to my Subaru BRZ. They are 2017 facelift style lights with the added bonus of sequential indicators. It was super easy and I made a how to video. The before and after difference is amazing, it really refreshes that back end.  This is the updated video including torque settings for the bolts and ensuring you do a leak test once fitted.

Hi guys, so I've been reading the SH*T out of this forum and it has been an absolute game changer, learnt so much about the car. So I thought it was time to say hi!
My name is Kai and I bought a stock red Primo 86 ( yes primo!) just over 2 months ago. A bit about myself, I'm 22 and based in Norwich working as a graduate engineer at Lotus.
As hard as I tried to leave it stock for a few months, I've been hooked to modding already. So far I've done cheap/simple mods:
18 inch ET35 RS style wheels Smoked sequential tail lights white LED interior and license plate lights Carbon effect (lol) lip spoiler Blacked out badges Window louvres Berk dual exit muffler delete TD 2nd cat delete (yes its feckin loud and asbo but i love it, sorry neighbors) The plans for the near future are:
ht autos lip kit lowering springs (like i said, being young i want to save as much money as  possible so couldnt justify coilovers!) New tyres - PS4s TD NA package near black friday deals! Hopefully i can make it to Japfest for the first time and I look forward to meeting some of you!  have a good one
