Makes a lovely difference to the gear change, you don't get bored of it. Can't say anything about knotchy second as my car doesn't suffer with that. Definitely worth it.

    Hi all,

It’s that time of year again... Black Friday. Last year was incredibly busy so if anyone would like to benefit from this aggressive pricing then please do get in touch. We've tried our absolute best to provide the strongest possible pricing we can this year, despite the current pandemic causing huge issues to not only our supply costs but also their availability.

Offers are live as of yesterday on the website, Monday 23rd November and run until Friday 4th December. For mail order parts these are payable in full and will be dispatched immediately if in stock, or as soon as they arrive if they are not in stock when ordering.

Workshop offers have a deposit payable before the close of play on the 4th, all works are to be then booked in and paid in full before Saturday 30th January 2019. All deposits are non-refundable in order for us to prepare parts and so forth. These offers cannot be used in conjunction with our finance offerings I’m afraid.

To take up one of our offers or with any questions, either drop me a PM on this forum, send me an email to mike@tuningdevelopments.co.uk or give me a call on 01925 822 266.

Varelco got a reaction from willclarke in Any experience with Primacy 4 (or other lower grip tyres)?
Another v105 user here. Pretty much identical to willclarkes experience. I find them much more confidence inspiring than the stock primacys. Even with 225/40/18 the car is still playful, especially in the wet, but they never feel sketchy and are much more progressive when they let go. Dry grip is good but not excessive, it never feels over tyred, the car still holds it momentum and doesn't scrub off too much speed.
They wear faster than the practically plastic primacys and aren't as good as Michelin PS4s (from what I've heard) but they seem well suited to this car and ideal for what you are after.

The Nogaro works really well for me. I find them very supportive and more comfortable than I found the OEM seat. Max journey time for me is probably about 2.5 hours of continuous driving and no complaints over comfort. Worse thing I've found is they take a bit more getting out of than the OEM ones do! 😂

Varelco got a reaction from ThatGuyThere in How much does a GT86 cost to maintain?
+1, i've had mine for 5 years now and its is no more expensive than a regular hatchback (in some cases cheaper)
Its almost comical how long tyres and brakes last, servicing costs are typical Toyota prices, there are no vices or shockers with maintaining these cars.
Biggest expense is fuel, expect high 20s for low speed town driving, high 30s for a roads and motorways (driven how it should be )

    Fitted Flex A’s a year or so ago and just out of interest I had them dyno’d. See curve below. From memory compression is below the horizontal axis. Referring to those three curves;
    Bottom : full Hard
Middle : hard minus 10 clicks
    Top :Full soft
So you have a non linear progression as per Deacons post above. This also bears out other posters ( and my own) experience that hard minus 10 is very bouncy because the damping at that setting is well on the way to full soft.
Sorry for the crumby photo but hope it helps.

I will be gobsmacked if they stick a 2.4 NA lump in it. There will be some that are surprised that the second generation will even exist let alone be fitted with an engine which goes against the entire industry. This new car will have to have something future proof, you might get away with it now but this new gen car will be sold way into the 2020s it's got to have something which will keep the model viable during the biggest change in automotive history.
Don't forget as of January the new EU fleet wide C02 targets are being phased in. All the manufacturers are facing big penalties for everything over the target.

Lotus and Jag still use superchargers too. Definitely suites this car.
I'm pretty sure Mazdas new swanky Skyactive X motor has a little air boosting supercharger on it too.

The Mini hasn't been supercharged for several generations now though as supercharging doesn't seem to work well for the emissions / mpg requirements

I would be in the supercharger camp if it came to it. The H4 layout and the fact you are retrofitting a FI system makes superchargers a nice neat package plonked on top of the engine. The power delivery keeps with how the car was intended too. I've only really felt the need of a charger when on the motorway, which to be fair this car wasn't designed for and is boring anyway.

When you get to that level of modification and investment it just makes more sense to buy a faster car in the first place.
280bhp is the sweet spot, that's about 225bhp per ton which is perfect for a road car, after driving Abbeys Harrop charged car around Oxted it definitely doesn't need any extra, more than enough. In my opinion of course.
