Means nothing. Rule of thumb, mods don't add value. If you have like for like cover on mods then you're covered anyway so long as you don't write it off. A bit different if you want to go agreed value to cover your investments, but you'll pay for that privilege if they agree it.

That's because the well designed kits aren't designed to shift bias. You use piston area and disc size to maintain the balance, a BBK isn't primarily for improved braking distances, it's to get the heat out the system for longevity.

The new JDL 4-2-1 also looks good, not sure how it compares getting one into the UK price wise but will be up there with the ACE/Rogue ones I reckon.

It does throw an error if the cat in the manifold is removed. The DTC is just disabled in the tune.

I tend to watch this Tyre Reviews channel:
    https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCEvB1bmKjPWZ3V1wSdBnXPQ
Does real world tests for various tyres and gives honest opinions. Quite often the tests are done on RWD cars and not FWD hot hatches, this does make a difference.

Number of pistons is irrelevant. Piston area is more important. Most front BBKs are designed with the OEM rears in mind so don't shift the bias too much.

Kodename47 reacted to MartinT in Michelin versus Falken
I succumbed to the overwhelming advice both here and elsewhere and went for Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres for my 17 x 8 wheels.  So I replaced a rather good set of Falkens with same-size Michelins.  Here are the exact tyres:
Falken Azenis FK510 225/45R17 94Y XL (£75.10 each) Michelin Pilot Sport 4 225/45R17 94Y XL (£83.51 each) My impressions as follows (I don't track my car, it's my daily driver used in a 60-mile commute):
Noise: the Michelins are definitely quieter with less tyre roar into the cabin.
Dry cornering: I can't feel much in it although I haven't pushed the Michelins hard yet.
Wet cornering: on this morning's greasy roads, cornering while applying some throttle made the rear just start to move sideways.  The Falkens would have held fast doing that.
Dry stopping: seems ok so far, no emergency stops yet for me to compare.
Ride quality: there isn't a lot in it although I think the Michelins are just a bit firmer.  Both tyres suit my H&R Super Sport springs well, the ride being firm but supple.
Looks: meh, I don't really care how they look.
I thought I'll add to this as time progresses and I get used to the Michelin's limits.  The price difference is not huge so this doesn't feel like a criticism of the Michelins so much as praise for the little known but excellent Falkens.  One parameter that will definitely have to wait a while is life.  This may be where the Michelins win (the Falkens were on for a year or around 15,000 miles).

I tried some hard cornering early this morning.  I like the feeling of the Michelins 'squatting down' and holding tight around the radius.  It's the first real difference between them and the Falkens that I've felt.

Kodename47 got a reaction from Leeky in Toyota advertising standard specification which is not fitted to their car
Auto hill-hold was advertised on the original models, but wasn't available or an option and it was a misprint. The car is good enough to overlook these kind of convenience features. As for the mirror, again I don't think this is even an option in the UK. That's why they wouldn't fit it. As for compensation, I think £150 is more that suitable for a feature that is not going to be a deal breaker.

Without a code this is useless. Did you check the fuel cap went back on properly as that can throw a code. 95-99 RON no matter what fuel type should never cause a code to be thrown unless it causes a misfire or something similar.

The engine runs out of flow at higher RPM and the cams don't seem to be the issue, the article below suggests a 4-6% increase on a FI car which is the best I've seen  ..... plus they are ~£1.5k (4 cams to replace).

The 2nd set are actually Valenti Revo semi-replicas - the indicators are different.
I have the MY17 replicas and I'm happy with them - if the other set had been around when I bought them I'd have gone for them I think.

Wait and see how it pans out over here. Plenty of discussion of that on forums already. Newer recall instructions make references to the causes and where the techs need to pay attention to avoid it.

They are cheaper than the others. The most turbo kits fitted in the UK are probably AVO, but then TD came along at a better price point. However I prefer the turbo location of the AVO.
