Luke got a reaction from Deacon in GR Yaris who's going for it?
The GR Yaris reminds me of this Aygo Crazy from way back. https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-review/toyota/aygo/first-drives/toyota-aygo-crazy

Luke got a reaction from itsuki in Any experience with Primacy 4 (or other lower grip tyres)?
I would say that simply changing the tyres for a better performing tyre unlocks a lot of traction and handling from the chassis.

Second hand fa20 engines aren’t that expensive £2-3k from a breaker. Of course labour to fit might push that higher. Hopefully Toyota diagnose and repair under extended warranty.

Luke got a reaction from gavin_t in Coolant leak
Best thing to do is clean the engine bay up. Then start from cold and check for leaks until the radiator Cooling fans come on once the car gets hot. It should be much easier to spot then.
Upload a picture or video if you can.

Luke reacted to MartinT in MartinT's BRZ
Job's all done. Filthy weather for working on the car. Will go for a longer test drive to bed in all the pads. Seems good so far.
EDIT: test drive went well, bedded in the pads and there is no squealing or grinding. Went down a soaked M3 and the water dispersion of these discs is good.

Yes, exactly that. Abbey said that the SuperPro would not cause extra NVH, so that's good news.

Luke got a reaction from McDude in OZ Leggera HLT - I'd wheely Like your thoughts
If it was me I’d wait to see what Black Friday deals come out this year, there is always something on offer when it comes to wheels. As for choice the OZ HLT would definitely be in my short list. Otherwise Partbox usually have some lovely Rays on good deals.

Just to underline that it is a GT, these pictures taken on a 3000+ mile European road trip in 2018. Hotel parking on the Amalfi coast and a great Villa stopover near Verona

Luke got a reaction from Deacon in Deacons '86
Very jealous. I can’t wait to get a set of these some day. Hopefully they perform just as good as they look.

Bought some new front brake pads as my PFC.08's were starting to get a bit past it after 10 trackdays on them.
I've gone for PFC's again but PFC.11 this time which are meant to have even better braking performance at the cost of a little longevity.
The braking on the PFC.08's is fantastic so the fact these are supposed to be even better is something I'm struggling to comprehend.
These, along with a couple of other little changes, should hopefully give me pretty decent braking for my final trackday of the year at the club day on the 21/11.

Luke got a reaction from Subota Boy in All about Initial D
Huge fan of Initial D and the MF Ghost series and I really like the detail they go into about the cars handling characteristics and driving styles.
It got me hooked on JDM cars and wanting to improve my driving skills.

Luke reacted to Conscript in Low Speed Suspension Creak/Popping Noise
Well, I've just replaced the front bushes, and it seems to have cured the problem. Took it for a drive again, no unusual noises over speed cushions, nor when I manoeuvred while parking outside my house.
Only issue (aside from it starting to rain while I was working) was that I managed to strip one of the bolts which holds the metal clip encasing the bush to the sway bar frame (the part which bolts to the chassis).Because the clip doesn't go down flush, as you're crushing the bush, I managed to cross thread the bolt and didn't notice until it was too late and I had a socket on it. Luckily I managed to find a similar size bolt and nut in the garage to replace it with, which seems to hold okay. If it doesn't, I'll have to find a replacement frame somewhere. But still, prat 😕
Can't say I've noticed any improvement in steering response, although I went with OEM drop links.

Luke got a reaction from James- in Blue Edition - Performance Pack and Lowering Springs
Alot of owners on here run the eibach 25mm springs with the original dampers with no real complaints.
The springs on the performance pack are exactly the same as the GT or 86 editions, only the dampers were changed to Sachs.
Just be careful not to you use a buzz gun to undo the top mount nuts because you can spin the damper piston and damage it. If you don’t fit them yourself make sure your technician knows this.

Just out of interest what did you use to tint your fog lights yellow? I’ve used vinyl twice but it fades pretty fast.

Luke got a reaction from SimonG68 in Lowering Springs Eibach 35-40mm
Use an Allen key and ring spanner to loosen the top mount nuts to the top of the thread with the car on the ground makes it much easier and prevents you spinning the shaft. No buzz gun required then.

Luke reacted to MartinT in GR86 Finally Spied
Sorry, but the FA-20 / 24 has character and a brilliant layout (apart from spark plug access), giving it a low CofG. Thank goodness for Subaru making the only flat 4 left in production.
A three-cylinder turbo? What a way to ruin the character of a sports car.
