Foulsmell got a reaction from Willtl in The Exhaust Thread
Looks like this. It's under the carpet behind the pedals. Just plug it with anything.

Foulsmell got a reaction from HariboPenguin in The Exhaust Thread
Good shout I did that to come to think of it as you don't need both.

Just wondering, have you blocked the noise generator tube? I had the same sort of thing after fitting my Milltek system and found plugging the tube helped quite a bit.
You don't need anything special, I just plugged mine up with the 12v cigarette lighter cap from the glovebox.

It makes the shifter a lot 'Tighter' if that makes sense. I've got the clutch spring and shift springs and they make things a lot nicer when shifting.

Foulsmell reacted to Keethos in Gutted header cat
Mark at Abbey was doing a swap scheme at one point, where to save time and a bit of money you could give him your manifold and he would give you one that he had already modified. Not sure if he's still doing it or not.

Foulsmell reacted to Kodename47 in Gutted header cat
My OEM mani has no cat..... not gutted though. Also SC, so can't really comment.
Try it, why not?.... it's free. A replacement mani is cheap if you don't like it.

Foulsmell reacted to Mike@TD.co.uk in Tuning Developments GT86 Turbo 'TD86'
A quick update, car is still running strong and we're mostly using 5psi currently with the current weather we've got. We've also got the catalogue of SPL arms waiting to be installed onto our car, which will be happening hopefully very shortly now that we have this installed and operating
3D 4 Wheel Alignment system, flush mounted alignment scissor lift with front turnplates and rear skid plates. Complete with jacking beam and also scissor, within a scissor which makes lifting our particular car up much easier than our 2 posters
Quick shot of the rear camber arms from SPL, quality really is excellent. Looking forward to getting everything installed Pricing will be confirmed and added online once we've test fitted the set.
Thanks
Mike

Foulsmell reacted to Dessss in Drop in vs chamber induction
Just booked mine with Mike yesterday
I had a go at one compared to a supercharged vehicle. I have to say, I really enjoyed the NA tuned car. The torque was there but not in your face like a turbo.
Also it sets you up for turbo!

+2 Farecla clay mitt.
Easy and effective, wouldn't bother going back to a clay bar.

Foulsmell reacted to Philip in For Sale OEM Front & Rear Mud Flaps
I'm afraid that they're now sitting in my garage waiting until I get a chance to fit them.

Foulsmell reacted to Ade in Weight of an alloy...
Let's be honest. Tyres make far more difference than weight. Most of the high end tyres are heavy with steel mesh in the sidewalls. Sure every little counts when you are racing, but most people will get more from some driver training than worrying about a extra kg of unsprung. I'm not going to lie, part of my wheel choice was the lightness of them (took me 4 months to get them from canada) because I'm a bit anal about stuff.
I think although my wheels are 2kg lighter than stock, my tyres are heavier than the primacies so overall they weight about the same or possibly a tad more. I can't say I noticed the interia from moving the weight further out tbh.

Foulsmell got a reaction from S18 RSG in Help! Can't get V-Power...
Mine runs noticeably quieter and smoother on Vpower than Momentum. I've tried a few tanks back to back now just to check I wasn't imagining it.
You also get better rewards with the Shell card which offsets the higher cost a bit.

Foulsmell reacted to Burn! Motorsport in Introducing DIXCEL Brake Pads
OEM is represented by the blue dotted line below. You can see the areas where the Z type pads that Rob is running far exceed the OEM pads. Initial bite, Fade resistance, pad life and operating friction level.

The awesome new product has just been launched at Sema and we have 1 unit here for demo and beta testing. Price is yet to be confirmed!

The following features are available

Map Switching
4 way map switching is available direct from the app.
Boost Controller
The App will allow boost to be controlled via either set parameters or on a "slider" from low to high*
DTC Tool

Foulsmell got a reaction from KevinA in In the market for a exhaust system - One that isn't too loud!
Resonated Milltek is good for me. Not too loud but sounds good n' deep.
Not had any issues with mine one year on and it was checked last week.
I actually don't mind the prospect of getting a new system every time it fails

It took many struggles to get here but as of yesterday I am now a one happy new owner of this beauty!
From just a day's worth of experience I can now honestly say how much of a different car this is! To say that I'm astounded would be an understatement of the year, I am looking forward to many many miles and smiles with this one!

Foulsmell reacted to S18 RSG in Gringo's 86
Braided lines aren't really designed to make you feel a difference, they're more designed for quite the opposite, so you DON'T feel a difference on longer track sessions/fast road driving.
We all know what a drop in brake fluid pressure feels like. Pedal goes to the floor, brakes fade, walls approach quickly. That's why we go for a higher boiling point fluid (so the fluid maintains a constant viscocity at even extreme temperatures) and braided stainless steel lines that don't expand under high temperatures, and therefore maintain consistent pressure within them.
I think the misconception is that people believe they will feel a huge difference in brake feel even under normal driving, but while that may be an added bonus in some cases, it's not what they're designed for.
