TD exhaust is a great bit of kit and there are 3 versions to choose from to get your desired volume. If you are local to TD I think they have one version fitted to their demo car so would be a good way to hear it in person.
The N1 is VERY loud. Plus if you fit a manifold in the future it gets even louder. Local member to us has one and you can literally hear him coming from miles away

As with any tuning modification on an NA engine it is expensive for a little gain.
Changes the power delivery and makes it much easier to drive which I like. Does it feel faster, not really. Would I do it again, probably as it does make for a nicer drive.
I assume from your other comments you may have had a turbo car before. You will never get the cost vs performance gains you get with those cars with these unfortunately.

I am sure someone with one will be able to offer some feedback. I got so confused with which manifolds were better then others in the end I just went with a complete package.

When I was looking there wasn't a 2nd hand manifold available so the price of hand picking new parts vs the TD package was less. So I went for the drive up north and found myself a cheap hotel and let mike work his magic.

I think most of these points were covered in the other topic. But for emissions you will lose one cat from the manifold but retain the under car cat.

I have this same setup on my car with the Tuning developments manifold. It will fail an MOT if they test it cold. But if you take it for a hard drive before had to get it nice and hot it will pass fine. I have done this for the last 3 years without issue with a very picky MOT station.

Certainly possible to get a cheaper price then the Tuning Developments package with second hand parts etc. Would be worth contacting the likes of Abbey directly for advice though.
In the end I just went with the tuning developments package as it was drive in and drive out and I knew all the parts were hand picked to give a good proven package.

Certainly wouldnt be attempting to map a car myself though unless I knew exactly what I was doing. Gets very expensive if you get it wrong!

I loved the DS2500's as well. Never faded, lasted 45,000 miles. Did everything, was very happy with them.

    Morning all,

We're still seeing a large amount of enquiries on our turbo install, along with the other various workshop services we offer. In these rather uncertain times however a lot of people are unsure about leaving the house to come and drop their car off with us.

With that in mind, we've teamed up with a local recovery agent whom has moved various cars to us in the past, and are able to offer FREE COLLECTION from anywhere within a 300 mile radius of us in England, Scotland or Wales to our workshop for any turbo kit install booked in with us for the moment.

We can either then arrange for the return delivery to the customer at extra cost, or the customer can collect the car from us and drive it home once the work is completed.

We can of course offer to have collection/delivery arranged for any job, however this would be at an additional cost to the job. It is only the turbo install that has this free collection offer.

Any questions at all, no matter how small, please feel free to give me a call on 01925 822 266 or drop me an email over to mike@tuningdevelopments.co.uk

Alternatively you can drop me a PM and I'll get back to people as quickly as possible.

    Thanks

    Mike

Seems weird the Raceseng ones did it as well. You have to wonder if it is the damper, but the OEM top mount rubber is isolating it.

I find them fine aswell. Overheated them once in a BBK but was an overly long hot session and I was risking it.
They get a lot of bad press online from people who drive them with heavier cars.
This might sound an odd point, but the build quality of the pad itself is better than all others I've tried. I used to have to file the backing plates of EBC and Carbotech pads down so they weren't a tight fit in the caliper but these DS2500's slot in beautifully!

Yep, agreed Gavin, a right pain in the ****  Not something I would have expected from a fairly spicy priced set of coilovers 🙄   Stock mounts are being fitted to the dampers today and will be taken for a little test drive so will get some feedback on how that worked out.

Some good info, confirms my hunch that I should avoid the DS2500 that comes as standard and spec something else.

I was running Ferodo DS2500 at the time (the standard pads that come with the kit - hated them with a passion), the discs had seen approx. 8 track days at that point IIRC. I wouldn’t say that the DS2500 is a particularly aggressive pad, in fact I would say they were far too mild for my liking.
Now switched to PMu HC+ but haven’t tracked the car enough (due to lockdown) to tell if the compound has made a difference. That said, they are excellent pads for pure road use but not aggressive enough on track - I have ordered a set of Endless ME20 which will be going on as soon as the PMus wear down.

In an update of mapping the tuning box, good progress has been made. Nervous me has had plenty of reassurances from Richard and Gary has checked the fuelling which is nice and rich on full boost at the top end. I have also received information from trusted sources that the stock bottom end will take 500bhp and been advised that I'm barely tickling it at 305bhp. This is good news. I have had some revisions done to the map, to wind back the boost a bit at 3000rpm and make it a bit more linear. The guy at DTUK has been excellent with taking a lot of time to discuss and revise and checking in with me every day this week, when I've been in the car. This has helped and the car is absolutely flying now. The boost increase is 0.2 bar/2.9psi, so it's nothing too crazy.
Really enjoyed the EVO article too.

Thanks.  They're probably not a good choice for track use, then, whereas they're good for road use where deep heat cycles are nowhere near as punishing.

I might stick to my guns and go with PFC 08 as there are many happy people using them

I had no problems with them for road use running them with the stock brake set up. No issues with the 11's in the BBK either which are more aggressive than the 08's

I can't really add anything other than what I've previously said.
I wouldn't say they were too aggressive thought. Only thing I can't really comment on is disc life with them.

Mine was fouling the stock airbox very slightly, so used some heat proof exhaust pad (usually made for motorbike exhausts) stuck to the airbox against the oil cooler line and its been fine. The thermostat hex thing corner was against another pipe too, although not common and Mike sorted that out quickly. Would recommend TD oil cooler kit overall, just don't need to worry now about track temps

They seize on better with a BBK. More stiction, enhanced seizure performance.
@VAD17's BBK is best for this. His kit performed so well he had to have his car recovered to a garage using a crane.

I used stock air box before going FI, but I've got oil cooler at the same time as TD turbo kit. Sorry can't be more helpful, but by the look of it I think it should be fine.
