Some extra pressure helps stabilise the tyres under hard (and bumpy) cornering. It also has the side effect of making the handling sketchier. The surface is fairly slippery anyway, and I was surprised by how little stopping power I had.
A couple of the RX8s that didn't add pressure (or had aftermarket suspension doing funny things?) wore all the tread off the shoulder of the right front tyre. They were going at it hard, but it was a shame to have toasted tyres with good tread in the middle. A few extra psi like Angelina said might not go amiss, depends on wheel camber and what kind of lead boots you wear.

I tried some hard cornering early this morning.  I like the feeling of the Michelins 'squatting down' and holding tight around the radius.  It's the first real difference between them and the Falkens that I've felt.

Looking forward to Sunday at the Museum.
The plan for those who wish to meet up prior to the event are:
Meet at the Boreham Service area Chelmsford. (McDonalds Car Park)
Get there in time for a 08:15 departure to the Museum.
    see you there.

    Hi All,
I'm based in Trowbridge in WIltshire - got my '12 Pearl White 86 about 6 weeks ago; absolutely adore it. I was eyeing up modifications of my own even before I found the car, so I was thrilled when I was able to actually make a few little changes of my own! I actually work in Culham near Oxford, so if there's anybody between here and there - I've probably seen you!
I've also decided to keep my Mazda 6 as the workhorse - I've not tried to see how many fence panels one can get in the 86; but I don't think its many.
As I said, I've made a few little mods so far; an FT86 UEL manifold (catted), Milltek overpipe - I've got a Milltek catback in my cupboard - and just making a decision about which frontpipe to opt for (I'm considering the Berk (catted) one at the moment), but we'll see.
I'll write a proper post about these bits another time - but in the meantime I thought I'd just write to say hello - and look forward to listening and contributing to discussions on here!
    Bye for now!
    Peter
ooohh... also, mine has got its valve spring recall soon - intrigued to see how they get on. I don't know if Toyota might offer a Supra as a courtesy car....?

    Hi All,
Figured I’d just drop something in here to say hi, been browsing the site for a couple of years (since buying my GT86) and finally decided to actually sign up. So the cars a 16 plate in metallic grey and currently sporting a TRD duck tail (amazing the difference changing one detail makes to the appearance of the car), valenti brake lights, Cobra resonated cat-back and a TD EL manifold (mapped by Abbey). Have to say I was sceptical that the manifold could make that much difference (even after reading the rave reviews on here) but the car drives so much better for it.
    Anyways, all the best.

Car went in for recall at RRG Macc last week.

All sorted now. Had new plugs and clutch whilst everything was out, and treated her to a set of new Advan V105S on the front too. As ever superb service from the guys at RRG and the car's driving fantastic.
On a slight tangent but car related, I picked one of these up.

It's a deionising water filter. You hook it up to your tap, then plug in your pressure washer to the outlet. On doing the final rinse of your car, you switch to the bottle, and it washes away all the impurities that would otherwise be left on the car. It means that you don't have to bother drying the car with a leather or drying towel. Saves a stack load of time, and further minimises the risk of adding swirls since you're not using any contact again.

    Hello all,
Some of you have all ready helped me with a few posts, so thought i'd introduce my new car! Im Ryan from the Measham area. Just picked up my car about 1 1/2 months ago-  35k miles on the clock, 14 plate, in White.
A bit of a step up in looks and step down in speed from its older sister, my modded Starlet GT turbo. Which i'm now trying to sell to fund the TD NA package/extra bits.

So far i've just blacked out the badges and bought some JR3 white 18x9 alloys with 245/35 PS4 which i've just had fitted yesterday! Ill add some pictures if anyone is interested in fitment as i struggled to find this setup with stock suspension. No rubbing, no scrapping.

Hopefully once i've finished a few more bits ill start seeing some of you peeps at some events/shows !

Welcome another red here 😊.  From what I have read, you would be better off getting a new head unit with sat nav as the toyota one isn’t the best, plus costs a fortune to upgrade maps. Mine came with, so want to do other stuff before upgrading. Enjoy miles of smiles.

    Hi everyone!

After months of searching finally got my hands on a red GT86 and it’s the best thing I’ve ever bought and driven!

Had it for around 2 months now, for those with factory fitted reverse sensors anyone had any issues with intermittent beeping as if a fault? Been experiencing for around a week, it keeps coming and going but beginning to bug me now!

Unfortunately only the standard Toyota Touch installed, would have liked the Touch and Go with Sat Nav but no such luck finding, anyone any ideas on cost for fitting either with Toyota or elsewhere?

Also, I’m booked in for 1st May due to recall 👍🏼

    Thanks guys

I have had the car now for 3 weeks and finally got round to giving the 86 a proper clean and wax.
No before or during pictures but happy with the result.
Products used are Gyeon Bathe + to clean. Clay barred and then Auto finesse Ultra Glaze to prep and then 2 coats of Dodo Juice Supernatural Hybrid wax. Wheels cleaned with Auto Finesse wheel cleaner and finished off with Auto Finesse mint rims and Chemical Guys Tyre Dressing to complete. Class cleaned with Gyeon Prep and then finished off with Auto Finesse Vision.

I'm coming up on my 20th day at CarLimits. It is brilliant, you will feel the limits and realize how little you know about driving :), but also have a blast, especially in  an 86/BRZ.  In a 4 people day, you get a lot of driving time and will be knackered by the end of the day. The hardest part is after the day is over and you go home and feel like everyone drives ridiculously slow.
As Vad said, It is hard on the tyres, the surface is very abrasive, but you can manage. My last set of PS4s lasted 6 track days and 3 car limits days, and I did not go easy on them - to say the least. My Primacies did not do anywhere near as well.
If you are lucky and get a wet day it is the best training ever for wet surfaces, plus you will be sidways a lot :). But don't worry you will be sideways on a normal day too. And backwards, and all possible angles.
