Mike 458 Report post Posted August 29, 2015 Me and Jamie have reserved a room each at http://www.booking.com/hotel/gb/ramada-encore-doncaster-robin-hood-airport.en-gb.html - was £49 so we can cancel it if need be if people find somewhere else
Lauren 2259 Report post Posted August 29, 2015 Booked there as well. £37.48! Bargain! I think we'll just have to roll with it. All the hotels near the circuit are of the tiny B&B variety, there is nothing close to the PI Scunthorpe. Only thing is, it does mean no chance of socialising with those at the PI as it's 30 miles away. That's a shame, but the bonus is, that we can avoid the absolutely shite food at the PI pub, which has always been terrible.
DebbieJ 42 Report post Posted August 29, 2015 Me and Kevin have just booked at the Doncaster Encore as well so looks like the alternate socialising will be happening there! (sorry Lauren it means you won't escape Kevin's usual banter after all!!!) 1 Lauren reacted to this

Steeps 294 Report post Posted August 29, 2015 Booked at Encore too for 2 nights (want to do the trackday beforehand as I'm not driving on the Sunday) Stayed there last time, it's basically a posh travelodge inside so don't expect too much (but it does have aircon), lots of seating but I didn't try the evening menu, only had breakfast the next day. Mike 458 Report post Posted August 29, 2015 You'll have to be the guinea pig then Dan and let us know how the food is Don't suppose you can remember what time breakfast started?
Steeps 294 Report post Posted August 29, 2015 I probably won't eat there on the Fri, will grab a snack on the way up but I'll have a look at the menu once I arrive. I think breakfast was from 7, I remember packing up my car first then hitting the buffet. I had breakfast included last time but the room+breakfast at a tenner this time is still cheaper than what I paid last time so will probably have it again, it's the usual full english/continental under hot lamp help yourself occation. Lauren 2259 Report post Posted August 29, 2015 We'll take a chance on the food at the Encore hotel eh? To be fair the food at PI Scunthorpe is awful, so it'd have to be bad to be worse than that! I've booked breakfast too.

Lauren 2259 Report post Posted September 4, 2015 Okay paid up for my entry to Blyton. But, called about booking a place for Cadwell hotels, at Kenwick Manor and they're fully booked up on the Saturday now for hotel rooms and lodges. Is there a plan B we know about? Think Maz mentioned something in Lough?
nikndel 509 Report post Posted September 4, 2015 Have you tried The Brackenbourough Hotel?
Lauren 2259 Report post Posted September 4, 2015 No. Mas is looking into it as I'm likely to book the same place as he is. So we can all cab it over together.
nikndel 509 Report post Posted September 4, 2015 Or try Railway cottages in Louth they opened up for me and wife for 1 day when we needed a place to stay 01507 606772

Paul 442 Report post Posted September 4, 2015 At the risk of sounding ignorant, what exactly is a 'Sprint Series'?
Steeps 294 Report post Posted September 5, 2015 Simply put, it's an event where car owners all "sprint" along the same track from one timing gate to the finish gate to see who can get the fastest time, during the day there's a couple of warm up/sighter laps then about 8 runs to record your fastest time. Each car sets off about 30 seconds after the last so there's minimal risk of seeing another car on track, a bit like the old F1 qualifying where they'd send the cars out one at a time, but you have 8 attempts to set a time. Cars enter under their own "class" depending on modifications so you know who you're competing with.
