rob275 1817 Report post Posted July 13, 2015 Actually Keith, Ian had issues with his also. Are you implying now that Fensport are not professionals? I can assure you it's not going to fly off, it's also not made of fibreglass. It's also bolted on as well as stuck. It's only stuck along the top edge to ensure it sits flush. 1 Sideways? reacted to this

GT86Jay 202 Report post Posted July 14, 2015 My TRD hasn't killed any pedestrians yet. Although that is also bolted on and fully declared on my insurance. So maybe that's why. 2 Mike and Mark-in-Stoke reacted to this

Deacon 1357 Report post Posted July 14, 2015 My spoiler is stuck on. Carbon though not fibreglass so that must be the reason no one had died. Must be. 2 rob275 and Mark-in-Stoke reacted to this
smudge 1020 Report post Posted July 14, 2015 But also it has a big boot to sit on whereas the skirts aren't supported from underneath...if that makes sense?
rob275 1817 Report post Posted July 14, 2015 I think its just a case that if they are a few mm out they just don't adhere right as they need to stick to the flat edge just below the door shut.
Mark-in-Stoke 488 Report post Posted July 14, 2015 Mine is stuck on with wallpaper paste and cellotape. 2 rob275 and Deacon reacted to this

Guest Report post Posted July 14, 2015 My body kit will be bolted on with Roundhead socket screws. This will ensure that even if the kit doesn't detach itself from the body I can cause cuts and bruises with a simple glance of any of the four corners. rob275 1817 Report post Posted August 17, 2015 Floating nuts are here, Project Kics iconix nut & locking nuts These won't be going on until I've had the work re-done on my car, 3 weeks of remoulding and painting to be done. Unfortunately can't be done until after JAE 1 Keethos reacted to this
rob275 1817 Report post Posted September 9, 2015 (edited) Car has a date for its paintjob 28th September. I'll be without a car for 3 weeks. Oh joy! The entire Five-Axis kit is being cut to pieces! Should look even better once done Edited September 9, 2015 by rob275 1 Keethos reacted to this
Tareim 343 Report post Posted September 9, 2015 3 weeks for paint? seems a bit much, when my car required some paint it was only gone for 2 days, granted mine is a basic colour but does the pearl really add that much extra time for painting?

The painting is the easy part. I've given them a little project to get on with.
Tareim 343 Report post Posted September 9, 2015 ah I see, also what's so special about these "floating nuts"?
rob275 1817 Report post Posted September 9, 2015 They have a floating washer where it tapers, doesn't ruin your wheels & sits better. In theory they shouldn't loosen. Date for car is now 5th October!
Varelco 211 Report post Posted September 14, 2015 Rob, bit off topic mate but whats the offset of your Titans and what tyres are you using? Also am I right in saying you are dropped 25mm? I'm looking at some 17x9 weds and trying to gauge what they would look like. CheersMatt

Guest Report post Posted September 16, 2015 Is it just the O/S skirt they're cutting up Rob?
rob275 1817 Report post Posted September 16, 2015 Is it just the O/S skirt they're cutting up Rob? No, actually I haven't decided 100% what i'm doing with the skirts. My plan was to have them just bonded back on as is (but properly) and blended. But I may also have these chopped up and fibreglassed in. The downside to this is if I do prang it on a trackday or whatever, it's going to be an absolute mess :/The main bit that requires a lot of cutting is the front splitter around the fogs, as it's the only way we can realistically get a smooth transition from splitter to bumper to create a one piece. Tareim 343 Report post Posted September 16, 2015 so the kit is going to be smoothed in to look like it's just a single piece bumper? or will you still have the lip where the kit meets the bumper?
