Worth understanding that these mounts don't magically increase travel. They allow to retain travel when you overlower car by relocating upper mountpoint higher when otherwise one would need to lower car that much at expense of travel.
If one doesn't lower to unwise amounts (possibly running into other issues, such as increased CV joint wear and fscked up geometry, and doesn't also get things like diff riser kit & roll center adjustment kits), but keeps it within range of adjustment of separate height adjustment, then such mounts serve no other function but that of emptying wallet.
"2 inches of extra rear shock travel"? When reasonable lowering for twins is usually mentioned to keep within 1inch?
As for ground-scraping slammers for looks .. i doubt they need any good shocks at all. I highly doubt good handling of car and coilover quality/performance is in any priority to them, so why pay extra for Ohlins + accompanying extra lowering hardware in such case.

@Addymk2 when I fit the 5k springs I should be able to tell you if the Raceeng top mounts will work, depending on if you have rear LCAs with lowered shock mounting points.
At the moment my car sits at 350 mm (center of wheel to arch) and with the 3k rear springs I’m not sure if it could sit it much higher. It looks like the height adjuster on the Ohlins damper is on its highest setting and the low ride height is caused by the sag of the soft springs and the 15mm lowered shock mounting point on the RCA. I could potentially add more spring preload but I don’t want to risk the spring going coil bound.
The 5k springs will sag less so will help raise the ride height,  I actually want to run the recommended 365mm height.
    I’ll let you know

Basically looks like they are tapping into the out feed from the oil cooler sandwich plate, then running a line from there into a separate oil filter then straight into the main oil gallery. They report it increases the pressure by a bar!

No you are thinking of the 14r60, that is too much of an animal, you would never get that through an IVA, well not before 10 years, i am talking about the 14r street version

    this is the 14r60

    this is the 14r

Far more like the UK version but with some nice touches, the brakes and wings are optional on the 14r.

Do you record the posctodes of past, present and planned future customers? If so, plot them and see their spread around the UK.
If they're in an Excel/easily accessed format, you're welcome to PM them to me (sanitised) and it's a 5 minute job to see where your customers are based mate
You've gave no indication as to the direction of the move, N/E/S/W which would also have a dink on clientel. Regardless though, the UK is tiny so I can't see it having a massive effect. If someone can't hack a 3 hour + drive they need to sort their priorities out

First two mods already done I fitted Vland V2 tail lights to my Subaru BRZ.  They are 2017 facelift style lights with the added bonus of sequential indicators.  It was super easy plug and play.  The before and after difference is amazing, it really refreshes that back end:
Here is a how to video I made for installing them:

I decided I wanted to also debadge the rear end of all chrome lettering.  Much cleaner, below is a link to a how to video on removing the chrome lettering:

I then set about stripping the front end removing the damaged metal such as wings, bonnet and parts of the slam panel.  Basically anything damaged that wasnt welded in has now been removed.  This is how I left it at the end of day 1:

Next steps are to call Subaru and Toyota tomorrow to order up all the parts needs for the front bumper as well as two wings, wing brackets and slam panel.  I will share the part lists and prices as and when I get them for anyone thinking of doing the same.  Most parts are cheaper from Toyota I have found, however the bumper is a Subaru only item so I need to go to them for that.  Its crazy how many individual parts there are on the bumper alone.
There are plenty more how to video coming up as I modify my BRZ, for additional updates please follow my youtube channel and instagram page:

I have to say, even though the Avo kit is the oldest on the market I think it's turbo placement is probably the best on the market. Albeit I'd be slightly concerned heading through standing water. It was a tough call between that and the Cosworth Supercharger for me, the only thing that swung me to Cosworth was the fact I'd never previously owned a SC car.

Looks tidy mate. Just gave you a follow on IG

Addymk2 reacted to nerdstrike in Help *was* needed after spark plug change
Here is a brain dump of all I have learned while trying to do this:
Firstly, the process takes ages. Unless you have magic tools, it will be incredibly slow, like an hour a plug or more as you get tired or drop things
3/8" kit is well suited. 1/2" ratchets are too large. 1/4" helps for the coil pack bolt and other ancillaries that must be removed. Vortex/through sockets are your friends here too as they increase your options. They might let you get a longer handle on a small job, you're going to want that!
A flexible magnet on a stick is absolutely indispensable. Ideally not too magnetic to help with threading the needle. You *will* drop something eventually. Otherwise you need to get the car up on stands so you can poke around the drainage holes or take the undertray off! Otherwise small bits of cloth it towel can be jammed underneath, but I couldn't get full coverage.
There is a tonne of thread on the spark plugs so the combo of socket and extension that works initially can be too long to get out once the plug is loose! Nicely worn extensions will be easier to detach than new ones, and a long flat bladed screwdriver might help depending on your stuff. My halfords advanced 3/8" short extension was too long to separate with screwdriver so I had to man up to detach it from the socket with fingertips of one hand.
Each spark plug requires slightly different tricks! Driver's side is most accessible and the passenger side is always difficult unless you care to mess with fuel lines or aircon. Taking the battery out gives you more elbow room to come in under the hardlines. I've used a mixture of the following tools while trying to find the easiest method:
1/2" ratchet + 3/8" adaptor plus very short extension in to deep 15mm socket. Then remove the insert to get it all the way out before you run out of length to remove anything. Stabilise the turning with a finger to make the ratchet click
3/8" ratchet + short wobble bar plus deep 15mm socket. Crack it loose with the ratchet, then twiddle with fingers. From certain angles it is possible to grip the extension with thumb AND finger! What a treat.

Addymk2 reacted to Lauren in Croft write up - Round 6
Yesterdays sprint at Croft was a tough one, a bit of a nemesis for me as I’ve never won there before. It has been resurfaced but many of the bumps remain, which is definitely a good thing. What made yesterday’s sprint interesting (depending upon how you look at it) was the weather.

The first timed run saw a slightly damp track particularly out on the back section from Tower to Barcroft which is the fastest and scariest part of the circuit. On my first time timed run, I could see it was damp under the trees on the exit of Tower, but getting power down there isn’t a real issue. It was a bit of a leap of faith through the Jim Clark Esses that the car would hold on the exit. This is a very fast part of the circuit, slightly over 100mph in my car and by the time I’m turning into Barcroft I’m in fifth gear going past 110mph or so. The problem is once you commit to it, you’re in for the ride, so trying to read the track ahead, is it dry is it wet, will it grip requires a good bloody guess as otherwise it’s crash or die!

My first timed run, I managed to hold my nerve and set a good first time of 1.42.17, giving me a two second advantage over my nearest rival, Graeme. Now, I know people will say I always set a fast first time, get a banker I say and whilst this is true, I had to have the confidence to do it.

On the second timed run, it started raining before I got on the start line. But when I got to Clervaux and Hawthorn it was still dry, so I went for it. Coming down the back straight at high speed towards Tower, there was a sudden deluge of rain and it went from being clear to being blinded by the rain. I could see the rain bouncing off the track by the time I got there, which was obviously going to ruin the run. I lost three seconds on that part but it was almost dry again by the time I got to Sunny In. Weather eh? it was so hard to read with some of the track remaining dry but the ballsy, fast far end of the circuit getting a load of rain dumped on it.

After lunch we went out, it looked dry but again, some rain during lunch had made Tower through the Esses wet again, making a fast run impossible, seeing me lose around three seconds again, though it was fine through the ironically named Sunny!

The only thing I could be thankful for is that it was consistently the same when my class ran. I felt sorry for the Yaris drivers where it was dry for half their class and wet for the other half, ruining the runs of the later drivers.

Come the time of the last run and Graeme is, I know dying to beat me. I’m doing a rain dance which kind of worked with a load of rain on the far side of the circuit again, all the way from Tower to Barcroft. The top classes went out and their times were suffering. Both Adrian and Tim told me it was wet out there and there was no grip. Not very confidence inspiring!

So there was I wondering whether to bother going out, but I could see Graeme was so I duly got in the queue wondering if it would be the death of me when I happened upon Barcroft and saw the big oak tree! I had set a faster time on run four of 141.11 which still had me ahead and I thought it might be enough.

As I got to the gate. Mike kindly told me that Rob had done a 141.5 taking a big chunk out of his earlier time. That gave me some confidence that there was time out there and maybe it wouldn’t be wet out on the far end of the circuit. He also told Graeme too which was only fair and well I went for it. I had to really hold my nerve as I passed through the Esses, foot to the floor and changing up to fifth gear on the exit. I knew I couldn’t lift for Barcroft, but let me tell you my heart was in my mouth. Thankfully though it was wet off line through the Esses it didn’t seem to be the case through Barcroft and the car kept it’s balance on the way in. I nailed a great bit of trail braking on the way through Sunny In which gave me the perfect amount of oversteer in the middle of Sunny setting me up beautifully for Sunny Out, I hardly hat to steer it was all on the throttle. I gave the steering a slight kick to straighten up on the exit and launched the car down the straight to the Complex.

I admit at this point I was patting the steering wheel thanking my car as I knew I had absolutely nailed it through Barcroft and Sunny. Just the Complex to go then. I kept it nice and tidy, not too much oversteer on the way in and keeping tidy on the brakes. I told myself approaching the hairpin, ‘do not slide it on the way out’. i didn’t and didn’t compromise my time. 1.39.44, wow! I knew that was a stonking time and a new class record.

I got into the paddock, jumped out of my car and legged it to the pit wall to see what Graeme would do. When I saw him come round to the hairpin, I could see it was going to be very close. One eye on him and one on the timing board as I wait full of anxiety to see where the timing board would stop, it was going to be so close. 1.40.35, yes another win! Poor Graeme, obviously I couldn’t help myself but jump up and down punching the air as he came in, which he may have noticed!

What a day, this is what sprinting is about. A mega thanks to all the lovely people at Javelin and my fabulous friends I get to race with. Also a huge thanks to Team RRG Macclesfield for their support. Is there really anything better than a race weekend. I just love it!

That’s five wins out of six rounds. Two round to go and the worst two get dropped. There’s still a way to go, but I’ve just wanted to win so badly this year after feeling a bit in the doldrums last year.

Addymk2 got a reaction from Angelina in Global Vagrant with a 17 BRZ
    Hello folks,
Thought I'd introduce myself before I stick my oar in in the main forum.
A month or so back I flew back to the UK, got off the plane, drove up to Manchester and picked up my BRZ.

I drove home, jacked her up and gave her a once over. All seemed well so I packed my bags and headed to Dover.
    Several days later, taking the scenic route via France/Belgium I ended up here;

Apologies for the poor photography I was busy, the guy who wanted to come for a passenger ride was also pretty crap with a camera.

I primarily took the trip as I had a few weeks off work and wanted to get a benchmark for the new toy. She's not bad. With the standard pads/disks I did start to get fade towards the end of a lap or 2 but that's easily resolved. I've owned 40+ cars in various states of tune, primarily built by myself on the car park/drive-way.
I left the ring and headed for the Black Forest.

Spent a few days here, beautiful scenery and fantastic roads (be wary of bikers if you do head this way)
Then popped off to Switzerland for a little watch shopping/alpine pass bombing. However, following an almost incident with an avalanche whilst following a slightly pikeyed Impreza I decided it was time to head home.

Anyway, I'm here to participate/glean additional knowledge as and where I can. I'm out of the country now for 3 months so plenty of time to stock pile parts back home for a weekend of tinkering on my return.
Plans so far; Meister R GT1's (I've had Zeta/ZetaCRD's on a few cars now and they've always impressed)
    17x8 Konig Hypergrams in Bronze
Potential brake upgrade. (WRX 4 pots are appealing)
    TD Stage 1 with UEL
Removing the resonator. As good as it is on a backroad, on the Autobahn it gave me a migraine.
    Anyway, nice to meet y'all.

    Bumping an old thread but a reply from Ian at GodSpeed;
We have sold a few of these kits to various different cars including the BRZ/GT86, We have had no feedback of bias issues. The Brembo calipers have 4 x 40mm pistons each caliper. I know a popular upgrade for the rear if you did want to increase the size, is the rear Brembo brakes from a 2008 onwards Impreza STI.
