The above by@Leeky seems the best deal. Otherwise you can go to tayna.co.uk and the 2 big brand choices I can suggest are

    Yuasa YBX3031,  3000, 72Ah, 630A , 18.4 Kg, dimensions 26.0*17.4*22.5 (£74.97 delivered)

    Varta 70Ah,  630A, E24DIN570 413 063 , dimension 26.1 cm * 17.5 * 22  ( to top of terminal) (£65.89)

The prices may not be accurate as i noted it a while ago.

BRZ-123 got a reaction from GravelRash in Engine temps in the winter
I had a similar thought as you and had asked Matt@Cosworth and his feedback was as under.
the low temp thermostat in the car, this is worth about 3-4 bhp on its own plus you can then get another 1.5° of spark in there as the heads are colder which results in another 3 bhp

Am sure Cosworth did their R&D thoroughly on it and have spent hours on testing the engine on an engine dyno which no one else has done. That is why came up with a LT Thermostat in their package. If it were just a transient gain, they wouldn't recommend it.

I've ordered a Mishimoto 76°C thermostat for Abbey to fit on my next service.

Yeah it bleeds oil through to maintain consistent pressure. I did think about a JDM plate but that leaves the holes in the bumper exposed. You are right you do need to oil up to temp to burn off water and fuel in the oil. That’s my excuse for driving it hard every now and then.
I’ve already got the 90c stat in the oil cooler, so I just need to create a way to block off the cooler.

Today I decided to try to improve my bonnet, which is full of stone chip repairs with ill-matching paint and also suffered from an accident with a paint spillage.
I clay barred a long curved mark on the bonnet with the recommended clay and clay lube. Then I used the orange buffer with my orbital machine and Meguire's paint compound, being careful to apply it exactly as in the video.  I then used isopropyl alcohol to clean and check the area. I repeated this, then cleaned and polished the area. No sign of the mark, just a nice and evenly shiny area of the bonnet.

This may seem like amateur hour to some of you but for me it was a big deal.  It's given me the confidence to do some more areas tomorrow.

Normal working from when it was new varied from +15C at speed to just above +20C when in traffic.
So far, still no leaks and it's holding at good iAT on these warm days.  I can feel that acceleration under boost is pulling well.

I think more muck was blown out as today it ran at no higher than iAT - ambient = 15C.
I'll check the coolant level on Saturday.

If you are looking for a grille to protect the radiator for future, the best brand is Zunsport. They make one for the First Gen..
    https://www.zunsport.com/en/subaru-fr/subaru-brz-–-unterer-grill?filter=295
For the facelift, its worth asking them if they can bespoke or if the first one fits.
On another note, normally how frequently do you need to top up intercooler coolant? Assume its not a sealed unit.

BRZ-123 got a reaction from Lordyboi in Tuning/Mapping advice needed
Since yours is Manifold and tune, its not complicated but you can get it tuned many ways. One way is like Martin has suggested. Another approach is:
    1. 95 Octane / Standard fuel tune , Standard throttle
    2. 97 Octane tune , Standard Throttle
    3. 99 Octane tune, Sensitive Throttle
    4. 99 Octane tune with Racerom features (Auto Blip, Launch Control, Flat Foot Shift) and Sensitive throttle

Or you can choose permutations and combinations of by mixing and matching.

BRZ-123 got a reaction from Lordyboi in Tuning/Mapping advice needed
You can read about the features here. The software allows these options, does Flat foot shift give you any real gain especially in an NA car is a good question and probably limited gains , if you do a lot of track time then the time to depress and release clutch is saved.. which will be milli seconds. Thats about it.

There was myself and afew others who knew about how TD was up to shady stuff.

I've owned my 86 for about 3 years and have known about this for the past 2 years. I never ever made a thread about it simply because TD had almost a cult like status and anything negative you said about then would get shot down.

Poor parts, poor design, awful quality. Stories of Mike scamming and extorting other owners of this car platform. There are countless stories about his shady practice and even instances where he had over charged his customers only to later stitch himself up and go quiet on people.

His constant reply of 'the courier has it' and 'I'm packaging the item today'. All of these kinds of messages and then not providing tracking numbers etc is just lies when really he hasn't done anything.

Even regarding his forged builds, other owners have questioned why he uses 'skunk2' conrods and his reply was simply 'most people for what they use it for will do fine with this type of rod's' knowing full well that it's a poor quality product - certainly a product he's willing to fit into your engine but not his own.

But his actions have consequences and I'm glad people can finally see how he conducts his business.

If you want an OE like clutch able to take the torque from a supercharger, I can recommend the Exedy Stage 1. It feels exactly like OEM.

Is that from your Toyota manual@Leeky or from a different country?
My Subaru manual says 5W-30 not 5W-20 as an alternate oil choice , which is much more widely available. Interesting!

March and it's time to get back to having rumbly noises again! Managed to pick up a hardly used Tomei UEL manifold and went to an old school friend's new garage to get it in place. Very different tone from the Tuning Developments one that was in place before. It's not too loud with the Scorpion exhaust but a good noise when you get on the throttle. I feel a bit of dyno time to get it perfect and all will be good.

My mate has a integra In Which he trusted Tuning development to install a turbo kit for it. On arrival they parked his car outside on street in which a van reversed into it causing a lot of damage. Granted not there fault but this is just the start. Car was running really rough and when turning from a stand still the car would stall. After trying to get in contact with them they didn’t seem interested to sort anything out for him. In the end he was advised by RB motorsport to get it back on the dyno. Turned out that the mapping was all over the place and potentially dangerous for the engine. After paying elsewhere for a new remap he is now running 400bhp  and car is running sweet as a nut .

Didn't have a great follow up customer experience with Mike & TD after getting a manifold & tune done. Didn't want to vent as an internet forum not really a graceful place for it but since people are speaking up please allow me to add for completeness sake.
Disbelief on his part that anything could be wrong with the work they'd done and an unwillingness to look at the car again followed by an email or two before no reply. Finally got a reply out the blue to say I could bring it in by which time I'd washed my hands of them.
I just started to write an email to them to ask for the branch resonator back I now assume (thanks W300) they threw away after fitting the manifold but from the way this thread reads I'll perhaps not waste my energy.
All our performance at work wavers at times it's natural. It was the stubbornness to accept so afterwards that annoyed me. Or at least a ready willingness to help resolve/understand the problem.
    Green customer wrong mmkay.

Just wanted to give one last update that finally, after four months and a lot of chasing, I was refunded for my purchase. Best of luck to the other members who are waiting for parts or a refund.
