Thanks very much for watching my YouTube videos I'm passionate about showing my love for cars lol
Despite moving to another platform I will still be making GT86 videos too as I've made so many friends with fellow owners!
Also, just to update this post, the car now has a buyer!

Deanusrjm reacted to Varelco in Turbo charged 86 new platform
And this matters why? Who cares, If you bought a GT86 to out drag other cars then you bought the wrong car. Personally I enjoy driving not comparing, I couldn't care less what everyone else around me is doing. Pretty sure every GT86 owner knows what they are getting into when they bought one. There are plenty of quick boring cars out that you can blow everyone away with on public roads if thats your thing.
'200bhp isn't enough' has only come around because manufacturers have cranked up the power of their cars in a bid to outdo each other. Nobody whinged several years ago when most hot hatches etc were knocking around that mark,. I've driven a Harrop 'charged car back to back with my own and yeah it was a hell of alot faster but it wasn't anymore enjoyable, just ended up sitting on the brakes all the time.
Each to their own.

Sorry to hear of your predicament mate. I have used Chemical guys gear before but never ordered from them direct, I must admit I do not rate their gear that highly, there is alot of hype to them.
Where are you based? is it near midlands? I use Shopnshine.co.uk for my stuff and I go straight to their depot. Very good customer service and you can get a detailing world discount DW75 I think it's 7.5% off.

Deanusrjm reacted to Varelco in Gearbox issue improved by thinner oil
Apparently fitting the MTEC shifter springs helps alleviate this. Even if they don't it's still a great mod.

CC: Push the button on the end to enable/disable it, the CC light will come on. Then you need to push it down to enable, up to restore, towards to cancel. SET appears on the dash when active. It's all ECU controlled so if the speed set light is coming on it can't not work without accompanying CEL. Otherwise I would look at a faulty switch, but you're not saying it's that.

Just like you say apart from the cruise control. Just done the shifter springs and gearbox insert and it has improved 2nd gear significantly.

Yeah second gears bit shite but works fine when warm. I found like @TTR said decent oil and shifter springs or short shifter like the TRD one I have made a big difference. Your car looks awesome by the way👌🏼

So I picked up my Giallo 86 yesterday evening and have been getting used to the car.
Generally I’m over the moon with the car, it drives superbly.
I picked up on a couple of things that I’m not sure about. It could be that I’m not used to the car or they could be faults:
2nd gear seems like hard work. Some times it slips in fine, other times (particularly down shifting) it is hard work. Should I be taking it back to Toyota to get this rectified or is it just the character of this model?
Cruise control - I can’t get it to work at all. It sets the speed and the light comes on but the cruise doesn’t seem to engage. I checked the manual and I appear to be doing it right but maybe I’m missing something obvious. Otherwise it is not working.
Tailgate needs a proper hard slam to shut, is this normal.
I need to change the head unit as the volume knob is tiny and so smooth it is almost unusable.
Everything else is absolutely amazing!
My company car is an S3 which is quick but a bit sterile, I dont feel disappointed in the engine performance on the 86. Quite the opposite, I was pleasantly surprised after many reviews led me to believe it is underpowered .
When there is a break in the weather I’ll post some proper pics!

Welcome! Hope you enjoy the car.
An amp is not essential! Sure you can install one and plenty have, but a gentleman should not be setting off car alarms as he drives through the neighbourhood!
A good head unit plus some decent speakers is all you need. Favourite plug and play speakers (and a bit of a bargian option too) are the Focal IS165TOY speakers which are a direct replacement and need no jiggery-pokery to make them fit.
Double DIN head units are fairly common so loads of choice there, though you need spacers to make them fit (not an issue) as the standard unit is a wee bit bigger than double DIN.

Awesome! I Picked mine up last Sunday and have been loving every minute of it. Although I'm only 21 so I could only afford a 12 plate Got it in the sexy grey

Thanks Deacon.
Going to keep it mechanically standard for now.
I’ll probably look to do a hifi upgrade thinking of retrofit JBL.
Also a centre armrest looks like a good shout.
Maybe I’ll look at some different rear lights but they look pricey (I’ve gone over budget to buy it).
