This is 17x8 et48 with 25mm spacer so effectively et23, dropped about roughly 25mm so only an inch but gives you an idea. 2.1 degrees camber front and 1.7 rear.

Bolts are stainless steel but I've been told they should be OK with the titanium nuts. If it does seem corrosion's a problem I'll swap to titanium bolts too

Had a quick chat with @Lauren at the sprint and have decided to just use the bolt that the reel is connected to as that's what Lauren's done and if the rear reel is connected to it, it must be strong enough (seems pretty well bolted in to the car anyway!). Fit the rear piece last night and you can do it without taking any trim off really. Just lower the rear seat back, remove the 2 pop clips holding the boot liner in at the side and you can get access to the bolt with an extension. A normal socket set should be strong enough to get the nut off.

They cannot seriously charge you any labour for changing the plugs seeing as they have to come out to do the recall work. Just the cost of the plug is all you should be paying. Oil and filter is included in the recall too. They will also change your coolant and recharge your aircon. There is no cost for all of that. So if they are doing a full service the only labour should be for the diff oil and the cost of it.
So to summarise you should only be paying for cost of plugs, cost of diff oil and labour to change diff oil.

Get cold start mapped out!! My UEL RCM manifold with one cat and Cobrasport resonated (known as being pretty loud) is actually quieter on start up now than it was with two cats and just the cat back. It’s also perfectly possible to drive it carefully without being ridiculously loud, but if you do plant it all hell breaks loose.
    Few cheeky revs

So like a few others my car will be in for recall soon. Whilst it's being worked on I'm having the spark plugs done, but am also considering chucking a clutch in. I'm awaiting a price on the OEM unit, but is there any aftermarket units worth considering? If so link me up please

You can't change the standard midpipe with the TD midpipe it will not fit. Changing the midpipe will have little effect keeping the standard backbox, and I am unaware of anyone who actually sells an off the shelf aftermarket one, so will be a custom job. You will need a full cat back system, midpipe and back box.

Rich put a fuel cleaner in, but I must admit it went away... I would sometimes press the power button without the clutch if it's been sat a while just to prime the pump for a little bit (you'll hear it whine) and then start the engine.

Hi Sam, I'm assuming you are looking for some used ones but just to let you know I got mine from Fensport and they were excellent in advising on what to get. Delivery was super fast and I went with their recommendation of 20mm at the front and 25mm at the rear which turned out to be spot on. Just thought it worth sharing in case you do decide to go new.

As the title suggests, I have had a panic but fun day.
With the club track day coming up on sunday I thought it best to check over my brakes. The Tarox bbk bought of our very own Rob have been great but the pads were getting low so it was time to drop in the spares.
All was great until I tried to remove the pad pins. This first came out with a little fight but the second sheared off in the hole at the threaded end, bugger! I phoned Tarox and the guy on the other end was great. Although he couldn't supply me the pins before the weekend he did tell me exactly what I needed so with that info I hit the internet.
If you haven't been there before, the internet has everything that you ever wanted, well apart from an M6 105mm 12.9 partial thread hex head bolt. The internet does have something in vast quantities and that is phone numbers.
A few calls were made with no joy and I was beginning to think that plan B was going to be put in to action i.e. the original callipers but the next call got me sorted and restored my faith in humanity.
I spoke to a chap called Ross at TR Fastenings in the  Manchester branch 01825747453, who managed to find me some pins that would do the job and could get them to me for Wednesday. As the conversation was ending and I could sense his immanent signing off I asked "how much?"  "No charge and I shall throw you a couple of extras in" was the reply. Just wanted to give Ross and TR Fastenings a shout out, excellent service.
As for getting the remainder of the pin out of the hole, that took 3 punches two of which are now deceased and 3 hammers of varying sizes. Why don't I just pick up the lump hammer in the first place? would have saved me hours over the years.
    Ta muchly, see you Sunday

    Hello all

I have the TD NA package (uel) + OEM 2nd cat + invidia q300 exhaust. I'm thinking of forced induction in future, but as I understand it from Mike the TD turbo requires the removal of the 2nd cat. As I need my car relatively hassle free and MOT worthy this is unfortunately not an option for me.

What options are available to me? If going turbo (or indeed supercharged), would I need a more free flowing sports cat, and would the car likely pass MOT despite catless manifold?

Much appreciate any responses to this "have my cake and eat it" question!

Another small update from this weekend Finally got some replacement front side repeaters to fit.

They're used smoked ones which I think look quite a bit better so i'm pleased with them but the question is how long until they decide to fly off again!

I fitted them this weekend and also sprayed the front bumper indicators to match.
neither of the indicators are in use anyway as now have them in the light clusters and wing trims so they're just there to fill the gaps

Wanted to smarten the car up before the final meet of the year at the Pistonheads BMW HQ meet next sunday. Also these are the first pictures of the car taken on my new phone so that's pretty exciting too, they look great if i do say so myself
