I took mine off a few years back removed the rust & painted it myself.

Had this turn up yesterday from Amber Performance, will get RRG to fit them at the next service.

 

Most likely it a rear control arms box.

Mine is quite similar except I fed the cable in through the back of the glove box, then you don't have the wires coming in through the side/front and therefore not visible. 
Again, you won't need to remove the glove box/panels, cables fit through the massive gaps in it lol

Cheers for the helps guys. Side panel popped off easy enough and got the new cam installed in about 15 mins. Wasn't anything expensive but I feel better having it there than not!

Im Jamie, i live in Whyteleaf (Surrey)
I bought my GT86 last Sunday and had the pleasure of driving it 253 miles back home. do i need to say how much i love this car already
