Thought the 86 needed some new shoes, very happy with the outcome. Now do i sell the old ones or keep for winter

I would add if you're buying second hand at least get a car with the leather/alcantara or full leather seats. Really worth it over the cloth I would say and isn't really going to cost you more to buy.

That TRD is over priced. Not worth it. Unless you're desperate to get a TRD. Bear in mind that nobody every paid full price for the TRD. So I'd want to knock a bit off the asking price.

I would suggest that the subjective increase in theft is not significant at two cars where the keys were stolen from the owners' houses. If anything the best form of prevention would be to ensure your keys are safely stowed somewhere and not easy to find should someone break into your house. That'd be a far cheaper and more sensible option.

Thanks for the welcome folks. Some good news, the car could be at the dealers late June

The Silverstone tuition / experience days is booked for 2nd August.

    Moving forward!

Lauren reacted to smudge in Smudge's UK Tour!
This weekend was Part 2 of my UK tour, venturing from Ace Café in London again to:

    Birmingham
    Liverpool
    Newcastle

On this rally, we were asked to produce the official video after our last amateur effort hit over 20,000 views in just over 2 weeks!

Although we were technically working, the people really made this one something special. Everyone was a unit from the off and it felt like a big family of car nutters rather than a random group of people. We had an amazing mix of cars as usual:

    Nissan GTR
    Aston Martin Vanquish
    Ferrari 458 Spyder
    Ferrari F430
    Audi RS4
    Audi RS5
    BMW M6
    BMW M5
    Subaru Impreza STi
    Nissan 370z
    Range Rover Sport

Such a wide range of cars, all driven by like-minded people

Once again the GT86 got a lot of attention, I nearly had to sign over the V5 after one of the driver's Mrs wanted to buy it off me!

The car was once again tested in all aspects, long distance cruising, full throttle sprints, twisty B roads, even a tiny bit of off-roading in some places!

Simply one of the best weekends of my life driving some of the UK's best roads

And a video showing some "spirited driving" through the Welsh valleys on the way to Snowdonia. All within the legal speed limit of course

Fed Ex will do you for a processing charge and you will have the the VAT too of course. £60 VAT + around £25 or so for the pleasure of Fed Ex. So bugdet an extra £85 once it's landed I would say.

My only reason for not getting a red interior is that I thought that the black would stand up to Indy better.

    Hi Fpan,

I just drove from Manchester to Gloucester this morning, went as fast as I could with the traffic, got 37mpg. You'll see between that and 40mpg I would say.

My car doesn't drone at all with a non res Milltek and 2nd cat delete. It's no issue at all I've driven to Germany and back and also Italy and back. No problem, it's not that loud.

He's using 5/6kg same as me. This was a rate I asked for Tein to do for me, which was checked with Tein Japan and then air freighted over. The usual choice outside the stock 7/7kg setup which is a bit much on our roads is 6/6kg because when you lower the car it affects the spring rate and so pretty much everyone runs a 6/6kg or setup or equal front and rear.

However I wanted the car to be able to transfer weight and particularly to load the front. I must admit compared to other cars with the 6/6kg setup I've tried the 5/6kg seems to help me alleviate understeer more. So driving say Spec K's car with 6/6kg I did notice more understeer. Depends what you like though of course.

You will need offset bushes for the rear lower wishbones to get the camber right.

Speak to Fensport, they can ask TEIN UK to swap the springs for different rates Something Yukiko is happy to do

also yes if you're going for the EDFC then you may aswell get the GPS it's an add-on part I think, or is that the G Sensor. Can't remember now. Fensport have supplied plenty now though so they know what you need

I guess I must have been driving it harder, can't think of another explanation. Though I did drive it in Sport mode which kind of made it feeling like it was holding back all the time. That might not have been helping. But, yes, I do like to use all the revs!

Spa is much faster though and there are good opportunities for a lot of airflow and longer gaps between corners, so less braking and accelerating, plus your average speed will be a lot higher round Spa.

I hope your cooling problems are behind you now.

You certainly need to learn the engine to wring all the power from it. But that said when you get busy and get down to work the reward of sharp throttle response as you work the chassis and move the weight around is intoxicating indeed. Sounds like you need to buy one then come on a trip to the EVO Triangle with us lot in North Wales. All good fun.

Ah okay, well keep us updated if it solves it.

The only thing with these is that they don't have a harmonic damper. Whilst it may well not be an issue, a stock pulley has one and you have to wonder that they wouldn't use one for the sake of it. But that said, I don't know of anyone that has had a problem. Mileage and time will tell of course.

Yes I'm willing to wait. No rush at all.

Lauren the issue was my drive belt kept on slipping off. Myself and mark feel its an isolated case. But the with no answer to why it kept slipping off, so the only other avenue was the alloy pulleys where not happy with a sprintex cranked up a notch. I go back to stock pulleys on Saturday. Fingers crossed. If it happens again then god knows : (

But certainly a must have for n.a cars. Revs more freely.

    James.
