Hope you are still enjoying it.
Hope you enjoyed spa as well. My mate was on that day and thoroughly enjoyed it despite the rain

I'm surprised by that, I find that it takes barely any effort to move between gears, almost like it's helping to guide you in.
Transmission noise is down to the mount. The solution to that is getting yourself an antisocial exhaust, you won't notice the transmission noise.

Mine does this.
Assumed it was just the fork/linkage mechanism and thought nothing more of it. Been fine for over 3 years and not got worse, can only hear it if the window is open anyway

You will be fine with a DA if you are careful.
I got great results with a DAS-6 machine and meguires two step polish with a couple of hex logic pads I got as part of a package on cleanyourcar.co.uk
No more swirls and a nice deep shine. Nice and easy to do just takes a fair bit of time.

Left about 2ish I think. Think we just got unlucky as we were say on the M6 for ages due to a truck full of Cows that fell over and we had to wait for them to clear up the mess.

Looks good.
I would take a look at some Ebaich springs. They give a modest drop and retain the oem comfort. Love mine. Drives nice on road and track and I have done things like the north coast 500 route round Scotland on some rough roads and found no issues I fitted them on my drive in 2 hours so a pro will have no problems in this time frame.
Just got back from warrington with the other half. I got the NA package and she got a day out shopping in warrington and a nice lunch. Stayed in the ibis which was nice too and only £48 with all you can eat breakfast

I had one as my 2nd car, and fitted the obligatory 17" wheels. No lowering so it looked like a rollerskate
I too had nothing to compare it to, so loved the thing! On reflection, it was probably slower than the 1989 1.0 Polo it replaced. Never has a 1.2 engine had less power!

gavin_t got a reaction from Test Drives Unlimited in Committee members wanted!
Can vouch for the car limits days. I have learnt alot doing a couple.
Can also book a club "activity" day through them. Not as much learning but alot of fun to just go and explore limits ;-) can be upto £50 to 100 each depending on numbers there to split the cost.
Nice cafe on the airfield too so would be a nice club day out.

Good to see some forward planning of what is already a good club full of great people.
I unfortunately don't have much time to offer personally due to lots of work and bike racing commitments but am happy to help out where needed on a adhoc basis at events.
@VAD17 and @Leevsfortyone have been great at organising events so can certainly vouch for them if they wanted to have any input/roles. Also as @VAD17 mentioned we hooked up with some old friends of mine that run a small track day forum called weekendracer. They have a lot of track based shows that they attend on a regular basis and are more then happy to have our cars on stand and have good facilities to offer and share. Works well when there are shows with a small club attendance as it shares the organisation. Can provide admin contacts if anything wanted to be made more "official" at all in the future. But adhoc appearances wont be an issue and partnering up with various clubs and contacts is always a good thing

gavin_t got a reaction from Mike@TD.co.uk in Looking for UEL manifold and exhaust ( decat overripe and cat back) must be resonated as don't want it too loud
speak to @Mike@TD.co.uk
He posted up in their sub forum on here that they are doing a cracking deal on a showroom displayed manifold they have left over as part of their tuning package.
From just having it fitted myself I can highly recommend it. Combined it with my stock exhaust so it is quite and just a change in tone. However they do a super resonated exhaust which is very quite also if you want to go aftermarket.

Fun DIY job (maybe not fun) wrapping the centre dash and Gague hood in alacantara. Saved a good amount of £££’s and looks so much better than the cheap plastic

gavin_t reacted to VAD17 in GT86 Turbo Kit & BRZ Turbo Kit from Tuning Developments
I think this is probably the right place for a quick post...
While I was enjoying family summer holidays, my 2017 auto GT86 had a trip to Warrington to visit @Mike@TD.co.uk
After getting TD's NA package last December FI "upgrade" was always a consideration and I decided not to wait much longer a jump on an FI wagon.
In addition to TD turbo kit upgrade I have opted for "super silent" 2nd decat, "super resonated" cat back and screamer pipe re-circulated into downpipe - the idea being that the car should stay quiet and be allowed on all major UK track days, with Bedford being close and Thruxton on the target list... Well, Mike managed to exceed my expectations here - its only 1-2 db higher, just the exhaust tone is somewhat deeper/ more mature. Don't get me wrong, I do like the growl of a V6 or a V8, but I wanted to keep it "neighbours and track friendly" (Mike did say though its a bit too quiet for his liking, but I've got exactly what I was after).
The car now makes just over 281HP with 0.4 bars, with over 200 FtLb of torque after 4k.
Now, first impression after 3 days of driving and just over 320 miles:
In "normal" street driving, because it stays quiet you barely notice it has FI, it does feel "livelier" but you can drive it just like before (I don't think my Mrs would even notice on city/ daily routes), but as soon as come on the main road or just push the throttle beyond 3k revs you just hear a gentle whistle, somewhat deeper growl and... few seconds later you are at (or over) speed limit. Enjoy it a second longer and you are over 80 mph. Although I had a good run on M6 toll road, in normal D (auto) mode I could hardly push it enough to truly say what its capable of... have to wait couple weeks until I manage to go on track end of August.
Mike also installed MFactory 4.67 FD, nice upgrade for my auto.
And I have got an engine oil cooler and an autobox oil cooler. Too early to tell but after 3hrs of driving at 30+C the oil temp have not moved above 90C, not by a degree. Hope it can cope well on track with current temps, I will have 3 days in 1 week shortly
So far very enjoyable and very happy I have decided to take a plunge with FI, will post an update after few track days and more experience...
