Hot off the press yesterday as the order books open for delivery January 2021:
    https://www.toyota.co.uk/world-of-toyota/toyota-gazoo-racing/gr-yaris/specs#
I've already spoken to Richard at RRG. Going down Saturday to put a deposit down. I want this car!
Obviously going for the track pack. Price is £33.5K reckon there may be an OTR tax to add though, will find out.

Another primo owner here. Actually moving to Norfolk the next couple of months . Had td na package. Got PS4s all round. Tracked her at Bedford 2 weeks ago. Great car . The only bonus for the primo is no keyless entry

Thank you Lauren ☺️ really! wow i knew they were uncommon but i didnt realise they were THAT uncommon! I The one reason why i prefer it is purely for the key ignition start. Just really satisfying compared to a push to start on my 1 series i had before, especially with a loud exhaust 😋

jeez 😅 luckily i dont plan to track mine for a while until I can afford better brakes so they are perfectly fine for now. If i manage to set them on fire during my daily commute I deserve to lose my license!

Fair play. Only real downside  if you're not bothered by less fancy trim, is the smaller brakes. I had the equivalent of a Primo in Japan (GT Limited) and set the brakes on fire on the touge! YMMV of course!

I like the rs style wheels. Had considered them for mine at some point. Angelina has a red primo model that does looks very cool with its simpler designed headlights and key start. Means you get a bigger storage pocket for your phone as well.

Hi guys, so I've been reading the SH*T out of this forum and it has been an absolute game changer, learnt so much about the car. So I thought it was time to say hi!
My name is Kai and I bought a stock red Primo 86 ( yes primo!) just over 2 months ago. A bit about myself, I'm 22 and based in Norwich working as a graduate engineer at Lotus.
As hard as I tried to leave it stock for a few months, I've been hooked to modding already. So far I've done cheap/simple mods:
18 inch ET35 RS style wheels Smoked sequential tail lights white LED interior and license plate lights Carbon effect (lol) lip spoiler Blacked out badges Window louvres Berk dual exit muffler delete TD 2nd cat delete (yes its feckin loud and asbo but i love it, sorry neighbors) The plans for the near future are:
ht autos lip kit lowering springs (like i said, being young i want to save as much money as  possible so couldnt justify coilovers!) New tyres - PS4s TD NA package near black friday deals! Hopefully i can make it to Japfest for the first time and I look forward to meeting some of you!  have a good one

Well, i'd probably invest more in actual tracking and track wearables like tires & pads, then in modding out car. Imho "driver experience mod" cuts down laptimes most of any car mods . Seen also cases where one invests hell of a lot to make car "track ready" in his eyes .. and never actually go to track , while there are plenty old beaters close to stock in trackday. Including taxis & delivery vans, lol
Quemadillo: in your case i'd first go for a bit more minimal approach.
Get parts for performance alignment (eg. for front: SPC 81305 camberbolt set (optionally also Whiteline KCA416 camberbolt set), PED-580096 top mounts, Powerflex front LCA bushings PFF69-801G, for rear some from cheaper adjustable aftermarket LCAs (eg. stock-alike stamped steel clones like from SPC/Whiteline/Eibach)) and then dial performance alignment better fit for track. +more track oriented pads that will work better even at higher temps. (btw, the more track specialized, the more pads may have issues with off track daily driving use, like squaling noise/dust/extra rotor wear/worse cold stops, thus imho preferable approach is to have two pad sets, one for daily driving, another - for trackday, and switch between pad sets according use, to have best of both and to not suffer deficiencies of neither).
If moving up for even grippier tires, if going for even longer track sessions, then i'd think of BBK. (but not needed for me, as due my age, i get tired some even with 15min sessions, after that 100% concentration starts to drop, thus prefering after that to drive back to cool brakes, drink coffee, smoke cigarette :), with no felt wish to keep driving non-stop 20-30min long no matter what.
And only then at some point in future considering aftermarket coilovers. Not sure if some like KW ClubSport ones, as imho those are too expensive, and may compromise comfort for dual-used also daily driven car, and extra adjustments also mean ability to adjust/dial wrong, and unless one drives each lap very consistently, it is hard to properly test/evaluate changes to dial better, as one might not know, if logged lap time was from suspension adjustment, or from doing less costly mistakes in that session . Coilovers by themselves don't improve times that much. And are not requirement for camber adjustment.

Even on stock primacies stock brake pads are a bit insufficient imho. So i'd change pads & fluid anyway. On primacies with rbf600 & ds2500 fade started to appear if at session i kept driving after 15min.
Then again, brake fade isn't something catastrophic. Usually doesn't happen suddenly like on/off switch, but at one point starts to appear and increase, signaling driver that it's time to slow down pace and go for brake cooling lap, and in next session drive for minute or two less (with same brake usage intensity).

So despite being a member on quite a few owner's forums for various cars I've never actually made a project thread, usually due to a lack of in-progress pictures or simply being too lazy but I guess I may as well make my first one a big one!

So a couple of week's ago I picked up my GT86, I wasn't planning on getting one so soon but I've been keeping my eyes out for a cheap written off one with just the right amount of damage and that's exactly what I got when this popped up!
    Warning graphic images!

And it was in the exact colour I wanted! So less than 48 hours after it was listed I had placed a deposit and arranged to travel up to Lincoln to pick it up the following Saturday.
The car is a 63 plate and is registered as a Cat N (previously called Cat D) write off meaning that there is no structural damage to the chassis but it was beyond economical repair for the insurance company.

So the next Saturday rolled around and I was a little bit worried about what I was getting myself in to but I decided to just feign ignorance and rely on the Insurance insepctors classifying it correctly.

And when I finally got it back home and in the garage thats how it stayed for a couple of weeks as I didn't have the time to crack on with it.

Everyone else barring the chap from fensport that commented on Facebook seems Confident of the same.
As long as I can get something in writing about a Warrenty I am happy.  But they swerved that in their last email reply so have sent another. Plus asking for an all in total for everything so I know 100% where I stand.
Will ask if I can get the info from toyota direct if I call them personally though. If it is purely a gesture of good will then fine I am happy that have done so. But if they have admitted fault why not just cover the lot....
Either way I am in a better place then I was on Tuesday

Wow, 8mpg on track has to hurt! My MR2 does15mpg on track, maybe the 86 won't be replacing it for track duties.

It's more like about 13mpg on mine on track. It's about the same as other comparable cars.

Here to say I’m loving my 2014 gt86 buy!
last 12 months I’ve been doing a few track days in an seat ibiza Capra. 1.8t.  Noticed how many gt’s are being used on track and did a little digging.. done donnington and oulton park December week after buying. First real rwd car and all I can say   So balanced and you just know when it’s going to step out.
i own a VAG group garage so this is totally going against the grain 🤣
ive put a HKS Spec L cat back on and a set of ds2500 up front. Ecutek tuned
however Once I’ve sold my caddy the mods will be starting.

A few things: the economy has settled to around 30.6mpg.  It did hit a high of 30.8, but in this nice weather I've been using the power a bit more again.  The supercharger installation is running very smoothly and I think it likes the cool intake air, which is running at +14 (so 22C today).
The rear tyres are really wearing much faster than the fronts now with the supercharger, it's reminiscent of my old BMW in that respect.  I should probably rotate them to even things up a little.
I had a Golf right up my backside this afternoon.  Dropped it to 5th and hoofed it.  Nope, wasn't losing him so I pulled aside in the next gap.  It was a Golf R.  Oh well, can't beat them all!
