Angelina reacted to BenRZ in Finally glad to be part of this community
Hello everyone! I managed to pick one of my dream cars on Saturday, a 66 plate Subaru BRZ SE Lux in stunning crystal black. I have many plans for the car starting with some lighter alloys with stickier wider tires then onto some coils 🤔. Can’t forget about some tints and going for that full black on black look!

Thanks everyone it's a nice warm welcome, lot's of enthusiastic people around us that I'm sure will have great ideas and support for a club that can go from strength to strength. I will continue to campaign in the Sprint Series but am more than happy to be involved in whatever needs doing, so any ideas/suggestions just drop me or any of the admin a line.

A bit of an update here, following some discussion which took all the way to a long night following the club Xmas meal kindly organised by Jeff, Jeff has considered his position and decided to step down. We had a good chat with Kev who has taken on the position of Chairman. We are very pleased to have Kev on board and he has been fantastic in promoting the Toyota Sprint Series and has been a great ambassador for this. I am sure Kev will do a great job for the club pushing it forwards and there has been a lot of discussion for events for next year. So welcome aboad Kev!
We are already getting busy with planning Japfest Silverstone and Donny, deciding what to do about JAE and also a lot of the other regional shows. @VAD17 has done a great job sorting all the track day stuff out and we hope he'll be joining the committee soon, we are just trying to juggle our day jobs and make time to sort club stuff out. I apologise if this has taken a while, my day job is hell currently!

Angelina reacted to Conscript in Rear Seat Covers
Hmmm yeah doesn't look much better than my current solution. Something that would cover the front of the bench part would be best.
Handsome looking fella there though. Here are the two dickheads I'm trying to cater for

I just use a seat cover I think i got from Pets at Home years ago. It isn't fitted but you can put the top of it over the rear seat cushion and lock it in place. Seems to do the job well enough for Indy the Cavalier.

Angelina reacted to Church in Stock steering wheel reach extension
Imho it's not about height, but also about body proportions, eg. leg length/body length/hands length and such. After all, for ideal pose one needs to be from pedals with legs still bent some to tire less and be able to push on pedals stronger, and also back of seat needs to be at certain distance, so that steering wheel can be held with bent lengths, again for less tiredness and finer control. I'm not too long, ~ 185cm, and i could manage ideal pose in stock car for daily driving .. but unfortunately that meant if i also was wearing helmet, as on track i do, i needed to compromise for helmet to not touch roof. Be it with too lowered back of seat and too far steering wheel with almost straight hands, or moving seat too close to steering wheel, resulting in too bent legs / knees interfering with steering wheel. Offset/closer to driver steering wheel alleviates that somewhat. Other option - aftermarket bucket seats with low profile mount (and such seats should also be used with rollcage (which in turn mandates helmet usage) and multipoint harnesses and all that combo is not street legal here).
Oh, for extra headroom there is also option of trimming seat cushions and slightly revelding base to sit lower, but so far i havent't yet decided on it.

Angelina reacted to Lauren in Stock steering wheel reach extension
I'm 5ft 5" or 166cms as I prefer to say, I run the seat on the lowest position and pretty much the same with the wheel. Never had an issue with reach, I can bring it closer which I do when I'm on track, but there's plenty of adjustment and more reach than I need. Primo won't be any different.
Solutions for the OP are a deeper dished wheeel though you will end up further from the stalks.

Angelina reacted to GT1986 in Ecutek map 4
Yeah true scbrz, My set-up is maps 1-3 for V-power with different toys on each map and map 4 is pretty much for any old fuel if vpower isn't available etc, was just curious really if anyone had noticed characteristics similar to what I mentioned when trying their map for any fuel 95 etc, map 1 in your case, the reduction in noise on mine is what got me curious.

Angelina reacted to scbrz in Ecutek map 4
I'm not sure there is a general answer for your question. I believe which map does what is down to the engine mods and tuner setup not ecutek in general, as on mine map 1 is for 95, map 2 97, map 3 Shell Vpower and map 4 Vpower with the toys enabled.

If you search the ecutek website. I think is the one that is also called valet mode. I am wondering which one to set for dealership service ans MOT. Will ask Mike next year as had it done a week after both 😊

Angelina reacted to GT1986 in Ecutek map 4
Hi all,
I was fiddling around with my maps the other day on the commute home, playing with the features as generally I stick on Map 1 - performance only. The only map I'd never tried before was Map 4 for any olde fuel so decided to give it a bash and see how different the performance felt. I was actually pleasantly surprised, the car didn't seem to have that feeling of urgency like it normally does, guessing maybe throttle response is lower, however it was still very smooth and pulled well but the biggest plus was it was generally alot quiter and i'd say more "social" for nipping about town or pulling into the neighbourhood etc (cobra uel and resonated exhaust fitted).
Just wondered if anyone had found the same?

I went for option 1, no problems after a year since fitment. It did help it was at my friends garage as he mentioned they can be fragile and he took his time and did it properly.

On our first GT86 test drive in July 2012, not realising that this had been in the hands of Autocar before ending up at my local dealer. Wonder what happened to it.

Angelina reacted to Lloyd in GT86 Newbie in Carrickfergus, Northern Ireland
Hi everyone!
My name's Lloyd. I'm 39 from Carrickfergus in Northern Ireland. I'm very recently become the proud and happy owner of this 1 owner, June 2013 GT86 with only 28,000 miles on the clock. Car is totally immaculate and totally stock, which I hope to keep it that way apart from the winter wheels due to go on this weekend.
The car is a total hoot to drive and it makes me smile every time I get into it!
I've always loved Toyota's and grew up in an area that that a big following of the AE86. I've previously owned a Supercharged Lexus IS200 and it was always an ambition of mine that I'd own a GT86 so it was just a matter of waiting for the price to drop and the right one to come along...

Gummipfledge works well applied to the seals.

Angelina reacted to Daninplymouth in What to do with frozen windows?
Hi it’s starting to get cold here now and my cars are quite prone to freezing up as the temperature drops. This will be my first winter in the GT so wondered if there was anything I could do to make my life easier. I have applied some gummi pfledge to the seals. Is it ok to use cool water to help clear the windows?
