I never taped my headlight glass and it was fine, that reg goes back to when glass wasn't laminated so the tape was there to stop it shattering everywhere... no issue on modern cars.
With an 86 everyone just uses the front hook, I don't know what you're worrying about but it's never been an issue with air going in the hole around it... Pic of mine is attached with the front hook in at high speed, even if it is sideways...
The tow vehicle always has a tow eye that fits the 86, it's the only car that doesn't need to two to run.
 

Ohhh and I never ticked the box on my VSD's saying the headlights were taped and never had an issue at scrutineering

Cheers for the heads up @jamie_gt86. I'd have liked to have picked up the summit ones as they're a lot beefier but couldn't justify the over double cost. I'll see if I can get the boots swapped when they're fitted. 

I had the white line kit fitted to mine when I dropped it on the BC's, was more of a precaution as I was lowering 40mm+. Can't say whether there was any specific improvement though as everything was done at once...
i will say that the grease boots on the lower ball joints are shite, mine had split when I removed them to put the car back to standard after 20k ish, if you can refit the standard ones will be better 👍🏼

So finally got Around to fitting wing.
Rear bumper still needs trimming and will adjust spoiler at a later date.

I'd be going down the route of getting it looked at by VOSA and if they deem it safe having them produce a cover note mate. Seems our local office is Llay, may be worth giving them a ring and seeing if they could inspect it for you.
