    Sorry been so busy;
Cobra have delivered the prototype large capacity HFC for testing;     around 35% larger capacity so should flow real well , hold the the heat longer so better for MOT passes and be very reasonable cost wise;   Hope to have some news very soon.

    Progress!
I was in at Tuning Developments yesterday to get my Flex As fitted. Unsurprisingly the drop links were again proving awkward, ended up with a rounded off bolt on one. So I now have a set of BC adjustable links.
Don't have the EDFC on yet, so I'm just running a static setup, and with the rain yesterday not been able to give it a proper run. That said, initial feeling is good, it rides well and still corners nicely. Looking better now it's a bit lower (I went for a 20 mm drop), though the wheels are completely lost in the arches. No pictures yet as the weather has been too grim.

I have Street Advance with EDFC Active with GPS module and spent a lot of time looking and discussing options with Tein, plus going out in Lauren's car made my mind up the right way to go. I looked into Ohlins as they have there version of EDFC coming out but would be £4K plus and KW, BC's etc.
Street Advance come with 5kg springs front and rear as standard as I needed a smother ride and the option of revalving if necessary plus adjustability of going on the track. I have camber bolts on the front and RRG managed to get 2 degrees of camber and fitted whole system. No pillow ball mounts with St Advance but not really necessary if you are not into changing set ups.
I also went back to standard anti roll bars and the cars handles great and EDFC is well worth it once you get your head around how it works and how you want it to work.
My wife is not petrol head but could tell the difference to previous set up and also when I change settings. Standard rebound compression is 16 clicks with EDFC you can change it to 32 or 64.
So I have bit of halfway house and would recommend it as the roads round the Cotswolds are not the best and having had it all fitted for couple months now very pleased.

Tom B reacted to Mike@TD.co.uk in GT86 BRZ Tuning Package from Tuning Developments
    Hello all,

We've decided to put together a package for those wanting to release more power from their GT86 or BRZ, without going for forced induction
    The kit contains the following:

    'Before' Dyno Run
Tuning Developments Manifold (EL or UEL)
    Tuning Developments Overpipe
    Gaskets
    Heat Wrap For 'Downpipe' Section
K&N 'Drop In' Replacement Panel Filter
    Installation
    ECUTeK License
In House Remap On The Dyno

    £1495.00 inc VAT

    Website link here

This package has been proven to remove the torque dip which plagues these cars, along with making more peak power. The whole curve is stronger, making the driving experience much more enjoyable! The ECUTeK Remap features the excellent RaceROM which gives you 4 switchable maps via the cruise control stalk which can be adjusted whilst on the fly. For those without cruise control we can set this up via the heated rear window button. Net gains are upto 30lb.ft through the mid range and upto 25bhp peak power (based against a 100% factory car).

You do not have to have an aftermarket exhaust, this is completely optional. The second CAT can also stay in place if needed. This gives an end result of a car that when cruising, sounds very close to OE sound levels, and has a pleasant bark to it when pressing on through the gears. The gains in torque make it much nicer to drive and give a far more linear delivery.

The top dyno graph has the factory second CAT and factory exhaust.
The lower dyno graph has a high flow second CAT and an aftermarket exhaust.

Above - TD EL Manifold, Full Exhaust & In House ECUTeK Tune (Didn't photo the overlay from before sorry!)

    This Package (UEL Manifold)
    Stock Second CAT
    Our Resonated CAT Back Exhaust
    @4500rpm static test is 89db.

Gives a lovely bark when pushing on yet subtle when cruising.

When we have an EL setup in we will do the same test.

The last few months have been spent mainly just using the car. Hence the lack of any real update!

We're still working on lots of ideas behind the scenes. We've also just ordered ourselves a 4 way laser alignment system which should be up and running within the next month, which ties in with some of our future plans nicely

We've swapped our port injectors over from the DW700 to some Injector Dynamics ID850. We run ID injectors in both our Celica and our Starlet with great results and have decided to follow suit with the 86. We've upgraded our cooling system with one of our aluminium replacement radiators and are also working on our own breather tank system currently.

Largest bit of news is we've also secured ourselves a second engine which will be rebuilt in house with forged conrods and pistons, ARP fasteners and a few other goodies. Once that is ready to drop in we will then wind up the boost on our stock engine to find out on our particular rolling road what sorts of numbers we can maintain before it decides enough is enough. The rebuilt engine will then take its place and we can then run much more boost through the turbo kit and let it stretch its legs   Boost by gear will then be needed for certain!

    More to follow

    Thanks

    Mike

No got the car back and was at good wood players today! Exhaust sounds and doesn't have that normal scooby tone! But may be due to centre exit.
Guy is making a big for the exhaust system and will Be jigged for twin exit like the oem exhaust.
Also includes a specific J pipe to each exhaust to get rid of motorway drone and over run drone.
Also his making a jig for manifold 2.5/3" so also be for sale.
Will Upload video if I can

well, after 3 years of absolute fun it's time for the old girl to go. I loved everything about this car , the ginger colour, the growl of the exhaust after 5k, the way she twitches too easily round the bends but can swing into a lovely fast series of sweeping curves with authority. I've searched all the alternatives and struggled to find anything to suit. I was very tempted by the new merc SLc and the mustang but Friday old Ginge is being traded in for...... a new ice silver gt86 with leather and touch & go. I was forced into changing colour as so many commented "no one will know you've got a new car" and it does look nice. Downside- back to 4k rev run in and incremental increase for next 1000miles or so. I think a trip is on at the weekend.... a long trip

go for a resonated if you plan to get a decat manifold it might be quiet on its own but paired with something like a borla UEL it sounds downright naughty

To be honest, manifold, filter and remap is by far the most cost effective way to change the car's performance. I think pretty much any other bolt on part will have a fairly poor cost to performance ratio, or will have various downsides, so you're probably best off leaving it at that, until of course you get to the point where forced induction in the next logical step.

Exhaust wrap is banned in lots of forms of motorsport, if you have an oil or fuel leak it can soak/accumulate in the wrap which is a much bigger fire hazard than the drip drip of the leak burning off or running off the manifold/exhaust.

In this day and age then non-porous heat shielding or ceramic coating are the only way to go in my opinion.

I have a heatshield of sorts on mine; it's more of a heat blanket than a full wrap though. In theory it allows the exhaust to expand and vent heat without trapping it like a full wrap does, while still shielding the sump and and other engine components.

Cheers Tom. I'm gonna be wrapping mine also, but I want to find the whistle first. If it is a small leak of some description, I think I'd rather fix it than just mask it. Will only end up being a problem further down the line if ignored now anyway.

Will be keeping an eye to see if you find the whistle problem! I'm contemplating heat wrapping mine to try and dampen the noise! Car looks sweet with the import plates too btw!

Small update, given that most people already know that the manifold is already fitted, and sounding great apart from that annoying little whistle.
Have the car booked in at Abbey on the 7th of June (perfect excuse for my first day off of the year) for a retune, and hopefully to find and fix the whistle.
This bank holiday weekend I got around to making some small tweaks. All visual, but enough to just finish off the outside before the new spoiler is decided on.
Cracked out the plastidip once again in an attempt to recreate the bronze colour of my wheels on the front and rear badges. Came fairly close I think. Not 100% perfect, but not bad for platidip.
Also took the opportunity to fit my new plates. More so just to get rid of the front plate holder, but I like the new look too:
