smudge got a reaction from Tweedbean in Heated Seat Wiring
99% sure that's correct Nige
Wouldn't make sense for Toyota to build a completely new loom just for cars with the heated seats option

Wanted to get a before and after of the exhaust. So these videos are with the resonated mid pipe that comes standard with the Invidia [TUBE] [/TUBE] [TUBE] [/TUBE] Tomorrow will be the same videos but with a straight (unresonated) mid pipe Watch this space! -

Couple of updates from the weekend
1st off was to finally sort out my ride height. As the coilivers have settled over the weeks, I kept looking at the car and thinking that the front was too high and the back was too low So, I put the front down by 10mm and raised the rear by 10mm, resulting in her sitting perfectly Alignment will be done again on Friday before the final round of TSS at Rockingham on Saturday Then it was time to get some rear tints sorted, something I've wanted to do for a while Had to build some ramps to get into the workshop though.... Went for 20% on the rear 3 windows and the finish is top notch And it meant I was finally able to get rid of the 5 year warranty sticker...which is probably the only part left on the car covered by warranty! -

So, the AP's are currently with the Brake Caliper Specialists getting refurbed in my special colour
I did also give them a set of standard GT86 rear calipers to do, but work on them has halted since I managed to find a set of these at a reasonable price to replace them Rear 2 pot Brembo's from an 08+ Subaru Impreza STi (the hatchback) As well as double the pistons as standard on the GT86, they come with 316mmx20mm discs meaning that the rear wheels will have increased stopping power to match the AP's up front a bit better These rear calipers will be sent off to the guys doing the AP's next week and hopefully be able to pick them all up in their shiny new colour soon -
smudge got a reaction from Stan Hawrylak in Touch and Go Unit with Satnav
Damn you Stan! I'm busy spending money on brakes and wheels this month!
Hope it sticks around until next payday...

smudge reacted to Quixote in It get's my vote!
Interesting part is: The Highways Agency confirmed to MailOnline they pay £150,000 per site to install the equipment and· £25,000 per site per year to maintain the equipment.
So we could save money and have more police employed to help prevent real crime by not spending stupid money on cameras...

I get the point of cameras nearby things like schools and built-up areas. They will encourage people to stick to the limit where there's the potential to hit a pedestrian and potentially kill them
As for cameras on the motorway (statistically the safest type of road in the UK in terms of number of accidents and fatalities) it's just nonsense. Doing 100mph is just as safe as doing 70mph. You are typically more alert if you're driving fast and if it wasn't for the cameras you wouldn't be distracted by your speedo every 2 seconds, taking your eyes off the cars in front and around you to check what speed you're doing
The unrestricted Autobahn's in Germany are one of the safest roads in the world. Why? Because even though people are doing 100mph+, they are alert and aware of what's happening (most of the time anyway) and are concentrating on the job of driving. Not worrying if they're going to get flashed or pulled by the police.
Camera's on motorways do not make sense, unless it's purely to monitor traffic

smudge got a reaction from Keethos in Headlight adjustment for lowered cars
For anyone who's lowered, you won't have failed to notice that the headlight beam seems shorter and allows you to see less up ahead
Obviously, due to the car being lower, the lights are lower too. So the beam isn't shining so far ahead as it's now lower to the ground
Due to all xenon having auto-levelling systems, it's not possible to amend this
However, I've come across these from Cusco

Ordered a set and will report back once they arrive

Been a bit quiet recently, mix of being busy over Christmas/New Year and a new job taking up all my time
But today I finally got round to test fitting the AP brakes, just to make sure they fit under the wheels!
And.....THEY DO! just....
Should be sent off to be painted fairly soon, hopefully fitted in time for the 1st round at TSS in March
