Sounds like the age old problem of not running your AC all the time. It's plenty good enough to cope with these temperatures. I've done Euro trips where the temp has been 37C and it coped just fine. I hired a GT86 in Japan five years ago and at one point the temperature got to an indicated 50C on the expressway in traffic and whilst it was working hard, it kept us cool. Sounds like it may need a recharge. Best to never turn it off all year round. That's what I've done with my car and it has always worked well. It's been like an oasis the last few days.

Nobody has had a letter yet, they will go out eventually I suspect. Some dealers are doing the recalls ahead of others. Someone at your dealer will know, you just spoke to the wrong person. There is no rush to get this done in all honesty. Your options are to wait or to contact your dealer again.

For what it’s worth, Toyota is planning a next-generation 86 which will remain a more affordable sports car than the recently introduced new Supra. As a spokesman for the company in the United States told us, “the 86 has been in the Toyota family since 2013 and the plan is that it will continue to be a part of Toyota’s sports car lineup.” All that’s good but bear in mind we won’t see a new 86, or a Subaru BRZ, before 2021.
What better way to keep the current model fresh than offer customers a new special edition of the two-door coupe from Japan. In fact, Japan is the key word here as the new Toyota 86 British Green Limited seems to be limited only to the Land of the Rising Sun – the automaker doesn’t mention its market plans for the vehicle, but all the available information about it comes from the brand's Japanese site.

Toyota will be issuing a recall on cars manufactured between April 2012 and May 2013. They have identified a defect in the composition of the material used in the valve springs which may cause fatigue and potentially failure.
They will send out letters in December/January for the work to be done. It's an engine out job as surely they'll have to remove the heads to change the valve springs.

Don't forget where they wash your car whether you want them to or not, and you find innumerable paint swirls the next time it's sunny

Recognise quite a few cars from the photos
Mike- wasn't you also planning to do a track version? Would be interested to hear/ see how its going.
And from personal experience can vouch for the quality of TD craftsmanship.
I went from NA to TD turbo kit (with super resonated exhaust), and most other mods have been done by TD team as well.
I only wish Warrington was closer to London/ SW...

They're just trying to ring you of cash while your car was in with them. Just tell them to do one and get the plugs done at 60k.
Even then the quote of 1k (or 1.3k without their "discount") is ludicrous. I'd expect the spark plugs to be crafted by the hands of Zeus himself and sprinkled with gold dust for that 🤣

I wouldn't say you do. I changed mine at 65k after noticing a few rough starts.

Spark plugs don't need doing until the car has gone 60k... pointless doing them at 38k

Well, it's very nice to be here, had my GT86 now for almost 1year loving it, before the GT86 it was the Toyota vvti which I added a sports catalyst
and a twin exhaust straight throw & even added a KnN filter, hahaha good days had that for 8 years, now the GT86 nothing more than awesome.
