Adi got a reaction from willclarke in Limit-Handling Days and Activity Days restarting at North Weald Airfield.
I went ahead and asked Mark to rename Aug 3rd  as a GT86 & BRZ club member day, so that non-club people will not book it for now. It will stay like this for a week.
We can still do a different day if we decide to, but I figured we protect this one for now since it had the most votes.  As the word is spreading the days are starting to go pretty fast.
So again if anybody else would like to do Aug 3rd, (or July 6th) please let us know.

We should probably move this to Events, and try to agree on a date before they are all booked up.
    Who else is interested ?

Car Limits went bust and was bought out by another company. Not sure about the details, but their main business was Supercar Days (lots of people paying for 3 laps in a Lamborgini or Ferrari and so on)  relying heavily on continuous income from it. Once the lockdowns hit they couldn't hold out for too long.
Drive Limits is Mark's own venture, focused solely on driver training and activity days.

Either way can be a lot of fun. As a group day we can ask him to customise the training more specifically for what you would want to get out of it - once you are over the basics, plus  you get to compete against cars similar to yours rather than something like a 700hp McLaren in the final circuit trials  ;).  But I've done it on my own too and enjoyed meeting the other drivers, some times we jump in each other's car as a passenger. Depending on your particular level of car control you may also get to do slightly different things. Like when all the new guys were practicing braking I was doing variations on exiting the high speed bend and so on.

Mark (formerly of Car Limits) is back doing Handling days and Activity days at the North Weald Airfield.
I did a few of these days and they are fantastic for learning car control at and over the grip limit in a safe environment.
4 people instruction days are £ 225 per person
20 people Activity days are £80 per person

Adi got a reaction from Church in Replacement for Ohlins R&T
I had the Ohlins MP20 on my previous 2014 GT86 with the 30/40 springs, and have the MP21 on my current 2016 GT86 with the 50/50 springs and the Ohlins (solid) top mounts.
My experience with the 30/40 spring was similar to yours, and lost the rear at the track a couple of times quite unexpectedly because of not enough travel at the back. Luckly I recovered both times. The car was lowered to Ohlins recommendations, about 20mm in front and 15mm back.
With the 50/50 springs and 2' of camber at the back I have a quite a hard time getting the rear loose, and I also feel it long before it happens. But I also did not lower the car, I kept it stock height.
If I were in your shoes I would give the 50/50 springs a try.

    Adi,
If there is a part number for that bush it will be on this graph.

Edit: Look at the bottom of the image. There is a comment that the front bush is not coming separately. At least not from the OEM.

Adi got a reaction from sentinal187 in Brake pedal firm at first but goes soft if holding pressure
Been doing it for 2 years now, in conjunction with about 10 Car Limits handling days per year.
I wish it was all fun, but buying new tyres (PS4) every 4 month, having full service (engine, tranny, diff, brake flush)  and new front pads every 2-3 month, gets a little tiring sometimes.
Not counting the cost of track days and full day instruction (which is worth every penny imho).
And the more you learn, the more you realize how much more there is to learn (and how much you forgotten since the last session). Can be a bit discouraging sometimes.
But the highs are pretty high too when things come out right.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate it.
I'll look into some  Ti shims and better quality pads (Pagid RS29 )and see what happens.
@Sentinal187   I will try refreshing the fluid by bleeding it and rear braided lines.
    Cheers!

Adi got a reaction from Angelina in Carlimits (2019) - 4 person day @ North Weald Airfield
I'm coming up on my 20th day at CarLimits. It is brilliant, you will feel the limits and realize how little you know about driving :), but also have a blast, especially in  an 86/BRZ.  In a 4 people day, you get a lot of driving time and will be knackered by the end of the day. The hardest part is after the day is over and you go home and feel like everyone drives ridiculously slow.
As Vad said, It is hard on the tyres, the surface is very abrasive, but you can manage. My last set of PS4s lasted 6 track days and 3 car limits days, and I did not go easy on them - to say the least. My Primacies did not do anywhere near as well.
If you are lucky and get a wet day it is the best training ever for wet surfaces, plus you will be sidways a lot :). But don't worry you will be sideways on a normal day too. And backwards, and all possible angles.

    1) Yes, CarLimits are worth doing at least once. Their are unique in that you will push the car over the limit at 70-80 mph, loose control, spin, and not crash into anything. You then learn how to feel when the back lets go and how to control the spin and recover.  It is the only place I know where you can realistically push the limit at these kind of speeds (there is a big difference between drifting at 20mph in a skidpan and involuntary loosing the back mid-corner at 75mph - especially in the brown pants arena ).  It is £ 225/person on a 4 person day and they have the whole year calendar on their website, easy to book. The people running it are very friendly.
    2) Also, if interested, I personally know a very good career race-driver and race-team instructor who is happy to do deals for groups on trackdays. Unlike the "20 min for 25 quid" experience, he actually puts his heart and soul into it, pushes you to your limit, and you will probably have a big smile on your face by the end of the day.

This is the headlight washer cap and Toyota will supply the part painted in the colour of your car if you give them your vin. The part delivered cost me around £50-£60 each when I replaced mine. (Expensive for tiny little bit of plastic) However I found it impossible to find it on ebay so dealership was the only option.
