    Around town...
    On the motorway...
    Changing up at 3000revs...
As above,a GT86/BRZ is not good at all.
On the other hand,on a flowing curvy country road, with the engine between 4000 and 7000 revs it’s really great fun like nothing else around the same price or considerably more.
That’s the point of the car.
    P.S.
The OP’s  preconception of a GT86 not matching his expectations might just mean the car is not for him and we can’t all like the same.I would say also try a Coupe that has a different sort of appeal, say an Audi TT...some may deride them but if the OP prefers one that’s fine.

Going to have to disagree with this I found primacys shocking in cold and wet weather even when driving slow and sensible. I would put them worse than pretty much any of half decent tyre on any car iv drive . They were far to easy to slide on the road when not even trying and the amount of time my traction control used to kick in was laughable. Got an uphill dual carriage way slip road by my house and the tc used to kick in sometimes changing from 2nd to 3rd on stock power .
The pilot sport 4 are so much better in all conditions. It was slow but did do a track day at 0degrees on them and think that would have been impossible on the primacys

Drives beautifully, my Scangauge now shows correct MAP (100 for atmospheric, <100 for vacuum, >100 for boost) up to around 0.7 bar (10 psi), which shows as 170 on the Scangauge, and the noise has gone.  No more worries or 3000 rpm limit

Short of going FI, the manifold is the only significant gain you'll get. Depending on where you live, @Mike@TD.co.uk at Tuning Developments is a good man to talk to. TD sell the manifold, filter, and remap as as a fitted package for a very good price - likely to be less than doing it separately.
It was such a good deal that I drove 3+ hours and stayed in a hotel the night before when I had mine done. Lots of people here are running that setup.

Apart from the current issue, the supercharger is a fab bit of kit.  The integration and installation are very professional.  If I sit close to the front offside of the car I can just hear the intercooler pump swishing away when the ignition is on (I was pumping my tyres at the time).  Apart from that, the belt is nice and tight and runs true (I had problems with a previous Sprintex charger) and there are no signs of installation nasties.
On the road, at low speed I can just feel the effects of parasitic load on the engine but it's not a lot more than, say, turning on the aircon.  I guess it may become more evident in summer with the Harrop and aircon both loading the engine.  I need the mapping tweaked at low revs above idle to just help the fuelling a little for smoother control.
At speed, it's smooth, progressive and gives a hell of a burst of acceleration if I'm hoofing it.  3rd, 4th and 5th are the gears where you can really give it pedal and the rewards are eager torque right up to the red line (I set my light to come on at 7000 rpm).  It just feels like a bigger engine - no surprises, no suddenly coming on boost, just a linear shove in the back.  Even in the wet, it feels safe and controllable with no surprise snaps.  I like the way superchargers feel.
On the motorway, 6th is now a very useful gear and if I'm lazy I can keep up with most traffic without the need to drop to 5th.  If someone is pulling away, dropping it to 5th is usually plenty.
The car is noisier because of the effect of load on the sound and because I went with a UEL manifold.  With the TD super-resonator, it's as loud as I would want it.  There is no drone at speed but it can get loud on hard acceleration.
To my surprise, the 17 x 8 wheels with Michelin 225 PS4s are perfectly balanced for the car.  I really don't need more rubber, it's highly controllable and turns in well.
Overall, I am well pleased.  This is my daily driver and I needed it to work well.  You're always going to have some teething issues with boost and I accepted that as part of the deal.

I used to play bass in a Death metal / Metalcore band. Went up and down the country a few times and played some pretty decent gigs, best ones probably being at Camden Underworld.

    I did a 0-60 in 5.3s without a proper launch!

Trying to get below 5s is a skill as 1st gear just lights up the rear tyres, but I do believe with a good launch its possible and helped by the fact that my wheel diameter means the Speedo is spot on and the car can infact do 60mph in 2nd.

TD have dyno curves on their website, scroll down a bit for them.
As @Lauren beat me to saying, it hugely improves the dreaded dip. Linear power delivery from 3000rpm to 6750rpm. It really is a great value kit and improves the car far more than "20bhp peak" would suggest.

New bits arrived today. The little box attaches to the switch panel which replaces the storage hole by the starter button. Switches will allow me to turn pedal dance on and off, disable the seat belt chime for when I use the harness, turn the radiator fan on and enable speed sensitive door locking

    Hi guys,
I have just had a NA tune up done and CAT back exhaust fitted at Tuning Developments in Warrington and I just had to share how amazing it is.
    Tuning Developments were great throughout.
What I have now is amazing. Horsepower is increased by about 20 with a more linear delivery. Feels great.
The best part about it is the noise from the exhaust. I am not a young hooligan so I didn't want something that was stupidly loud. What I have now is perfect. It has a lovely deep throaty growl at idle, louder that my stock exhaust and much deeper but not so loud that I will wake the neighbours when I head out in the mornings. Similar when driving with a steady throttle at a fixed speed, the noise is lovely but not massively loud.
The real joy comes when you put your foot down... it is just an absolutely perfect deep rumbling loud noise... amazing. I also get a bit of a burble when coming off the throttle. It makes me smile every time. I haven't had it noise tested so I don't know the numbers but someone I know had it done and they registered 95 dB on a track day.
I would seriously recommend getting this done.

Just got the car back now. The weather isn't the greatest but I did get to push it a little here and there.

I'll resonate what other forced induction owners have said; its transformed the car and for the better.

I had mine mapped very conservatively and even then, it pulls like a train and it's very difficult not to find yourself going to fast.

Tdlr; get a turbo or supercharger.

None of the cars have an auto dimming mirror - it was on the spec sheet but they've never even been an option. If you get leather seats, they will be heated - heating was standard on all leather and leather/alcantara seats.
I wouldn't bother with the satnav. The whole head unit is dated, to say the least; if you really want built-in nav then buy a decent aftermarket head unit with it built in.

Auto Vs manual: the auto is an old-school torque converter, I think they claimed it had the fastest torque converter shift in the world at launch, most other autos are DCT these days so if you're used to those it may feel slower to shift but by all accounts it's not too bad.
The manual can be difficult to get into 2nd when cold; most owners report some degree of difficulty. It can apparently be improved with a change to different oil in the box. I haven't had that done, but I do have an aftermarket shift spring and an insert for the gearbox mount. Those improve the 2nd gear a little, and give a very sweet gearchange (some complain about a slight increase in noise from the mount). Very cheap upgrades, and excellent value.

You get 45K from these tyres easily with regular rotation and road driving. I do that kind of miles up and down the M way and took me 3 + yrs and I was still at 3 mm.

The fuel trims have greatly helped drivability and the car is easier to control at traffic crawling speeds now.  Once properly underway, it feels much like before except there is response to a decent prod at any speed in any gear.
It almost never needs flooring - just a good prod and the speed builds quickly, something I remember my supercharged Honda doing.
I honestly wouldn't want or need more power than this.  It's very well matched to the chassis.
Will report on average mpg once the gauge has settled into a near-final reading.

Just collected the car from Excel Bodyworks in Radstock. Rocket Bunny V2 Diffuser fitted along with GReddy Gracer front lip also from Torqen and TRD side skirts from Fensport.
Front lip and skirts have been painted with gloss black on the lower lips and in body colour on the upper parts. Works nicely imo -
