It's still on. Early start for us!
Stand location is ok again, a bit close to the RX-8 owners club and we're upwind but needs must. 😛

Probably the last meet for some time given the new rules

I've just bought a ticket and booked onto the club stand, bit of a tradition now this one!

Forgot all about this, checking the work dairy and hope to book a ticket tonight. It is usually a good day out at the brands show

From reading that and @will300 pointer to the correct section he was referring to I read that as something with 0w is ideal for the tight clearances. But increasing the oil to 0w30 will give you higher temperature stability too so win win. And as 5w30 is in the handbook Toyota must be happy with this one too.
But 10w40 as the OP put is overkill and too thick at cold to get into the tight clearances.

My car gets the same usage as you and I have always run it on Shell 0w-30 without issue.
Although the car currently has 5w30 in it as its back from its recall and that is all Toyota would put in other then 0w20.
I would happily run a good quality one of either but if both were side by side on the shelf I would take 0w30

Although I am in the same boat as you and looking to get an oil cooler dropped in this year to be super safe

I'm at Bedford April 6th providing it still goes ahead.
I'm interested to see how it'll be on track - certainly on the road it seems well worth it but I do wonder whether it may end up a little short for on track (especially somewhere like Bedford).
I've got loads of Bedford videos so it'll be interesting to be able to compare speeds into and out of various sections to see what difference it has made.

Essex to Warrington was an over night affair for me anyway. So if you was a little further it wouldn't stop me using you again. Good service is always worth traveling for IMO

Didn't implode so assume new cams and all other work is good 😊

Took the car back to the dealers last Friday.

Aircon is now tip top and blowing ice cold again.
Unsure if it was their machine or if they were just covering not putting something back right.
Either way was a bit of a pain dropping the car back again but it was fixed without too much hassle

So after spending the week looking at my recall letter thinking shall I or not reply I got a text from My Toyota about recall which is no mean feat as I never signed up to it at my last visit to my dealership 3 years or so ago. I took option 3 and called the number which is the GT86 recall hotline so well impressed especially as after giving them my registration I’ve been told as my car is only 1 year old and should it go Pete Tong I’m covered by Toyota 5 year warranty 😂So after flogging that horse dead and realising the person on the other end and I were not singing from the same hymn sheet I transferred to Customer Services but as I asked if they had breached any data laws by signing me up to something I didn’t agree to they were more concerned with wiping me from their records 👍

They must be tight then 😂😂😂
Not fussed just need them to get back to me on what oil is in the engine and to check the Aircon.  They can keep their tenner if that is sorted 😉

Managed to cover 100 miles so far since getting the 86 back from its recall with new cams etc.
Seems to drive nice enough as it did before and the new clutch feels alot nice rthen the old one so a benefit there 😊 also no more noisey release bearing!
Only niggle I have which I need to contact them with is the Aircon seems very noisey. I am sure before there was no difference in sound on a low fan speed with the Aircon on or off. Now when you switch it on there is a fairly noticeable sound with it on. Anyone able to comment on what theirs is like?
Also invoice states I was charged £10 for an oil filter which is no big problem in the scheme of things but the invoice lists 5w-40 oil. Hopefully just a misprint but need to question this and the Aircon with them tomorrow.  Other then that seems tip top and it's nice to be back in a car you feel connected to the road in unlike the lexus 😂
Thanks @Lauren and anyone else along the way that helped with the issues I had
