A big thank you to all who came last night, was a great evening weather was perfect for late night standing in the car park. Hope you all had a great evening.
It was nice you chose to spend an evening with your fellow club members rather than in the Caribbean like some other people.

gavin_t got a reaction from Twigman in Rear Brake Pads
I have Pagid pads in the rear of mine from euro car parts. They are the ones with the product code 101800268. Which according to that web page is the lower box if you select the pagid option.
I rate them and use them on road and track with just uprated front pads.
Although if you want brembo I am sure they are also fine, just pick them from the same box

Honda boxes on a Monday, GT86 boxes on a Friday afternoon
Going from a Type R to a GT86 the quality of the shift is the one thing I miss!

gavin_t reacted to KAS in Rotational Squeaking from Discs?
The parts guy at toyota said he never sells them so I doubt many people actually do renew them bolts.
I’m sure my PFC or EBC pads instructions said not to file the pads, and to file the carrier instead. But I know what you mean, the paint isn’t exactly uniform on the pads.
Last time I tried to stops the squeaks, I had to file the stock pads to stop them from sticking coz rust had bubbled up under the paint. All fun and games lol

gavin_t reacted to Samwise in Drop links / adjustable drop links for coilovers
If you do want to go adjustable items I actually have a set of totally brand new ones that came with my airlift kit. I didn't use them as I also purchased a Whiteline set at the same time so i'd happily part with them for a bit of cash. Feel free to PM me if you're interested

gavin_t got a reaction from Angelina in Carlimits (2019) - 4 person day @ North Weald Airfield
As said get tyres after the event. When I did it I bolted on my original wheels with some old Michelin Primacy on. Less grip = more learning at the end of the day
You will learn a lot. I insure my car for trackdays but don't when I go there. Only one car on the move at a time and you would be hard pushed to find something to hit

I really should do an update of how it's going with the HKS turbo! I'll get an update up this weekend whilst watching Toyota (hopefully) defend their crown at Le Mans 🤞

Ah man gutted for you!
My sentiments follow others here, you've spent all this time and effort getting it to this stage. You'll never get that back parting it out and you'll have nothing to show for after!
Put the car to the side for a bit, cool off and then get back on it in a few months. Or maybe ignore the big issue being the engine for now and focus on the small wins and little jobs that will keep you feeling progress is being made
Think to the future - In many years time this will be a story to tell people...that one time you almost gave up hope on this build but now shes here and awesome

I guess you’d have to keep to the windscreen side of the A pillar, so that you’re going behind the airbag all the way down. It doesn’t feel like the plastic moves much there so I reckon you’d have to remove it, or at least loosen it. I didn’t actually ask where my audio installer had tucked it but he would’ve had the plastic off anyway to fit the DAB aerial.
