You have more money than sense getting a 1080 at the price they are at the moment!

It is cheaper than Tesla K40 and has more cuda cores for my machine learning deep neural network.

Feel free to jump on my Teamspeak one evening to play, I play with a few mates but there's always normally a space on the team. (vootv.ckras.eu)

My steam is http://steamcommunity.com/id/dooneyouweasel if you have steam and my battletag is Voo #2205

It's an ok FPS, though Blizzard need to do some work on it before it can be taken as a serious competitive game. Though I imagine this will be addressed once they release competitive mode. Or I hope that's the case otherwise it's future is pretty bleak.

I'm surprised you guys haven't switched over to Discord. I never did get along much with Teamspeak, but Discord is great.

I will add you on Steam when I get back home though, and I'll see if I can perhaps persuade my Blizzard contact to slip me a free copy, save having to pay for something I may not play.

Grrrrr.... my Oculus Rift has been shipped! It's usually great news for gamers but I wasn't expecting it so soon (only a 6 month wait). Not sure if my 970 will handle it now, also only have usb2 on the pc (need a usb3 card!)... and I don't have time to play with it due to work!

Honestly not sure if I should keep it and play, or sell it on  :(

Anybody interested in a Nvidia GTX1080, then BTShop have the Gigabyte G1 for £570, that's about £50 cheaper than anywhere else. Also you can get 3% cashback using Quidco.

Just need to sort a 4k monitor now ;)

Well I opened the rift, couldn't resist as the box was so nice. Even on usb2 and the 970 it's a fantastic experience so far. Need to get all of my old games working as I thought they would out of the box (huge TF2 fan, worked on DK2 but not CV1) but head tracking is amazing and watching films really does feel like you're sitting at the front row of the cinema wearing a ski mask. Early days for the tech, we're just seeing the beginning (resolution needs improvement), can't wait to try project cars on it!

@kurosagi01 BT shop used to be dabs.com, BT wanted to get into selling office supplies and hardware, taking on dabs was easier than setting up their own.

@Tareim Currently got a xeon x5650 overclocked from 2.6ghz to 4hgz (hex core + hyperthreading so 12 threads) running on a 7 year old Asus P6T socket 1366.

Had a play last night, usb2 now wasn't good enough but luckily my usb3 pcie card arrived yesterday so I can install that at the weekend.

@Steeps Never really used dabs before but i have seen them with good offers on components, same with another pixmania which is owned by Currys which also had decent offers aswell.

I mainly buy my PC components from Scan though just beacuse i get free next day delivery, contemplating on buying a 500GB SSD to use for game installation now as i am running low on HDD space and use the current 500gb WD Black i have for more extra storage aswell or just get myself another 1TB HDD.

Another note Steam has its summer sale now, anyone purchased any cheap games yet lol.

Not seen anything worth having in the steam sale tbh. Bit disappointing if i'm honest.

It's even worse when you already own most of it. Steam Summer sales always killed me, so I bought basically every item on sale last year. Instant regret, but at least I now longer have to spend money.

same here, and the new way they are doing the sales once you have checked them all out on the 1st day there isn't going to be any other deals coming up

So im looking at getting a mechnical keyboard myself for my 6th year anniversary present from the other half, although being new into the market i have no clue what i should specifically look for.
The distance in key pressing isn't entirely huge issue as i can easily adjust, the only thing i am looking at is trying to get one thats reasonably quiet switches, which from what i have read is either cherry Red or Brown. But i have also read you can make any of the cherry MX switches quiet by fitting some O-rings on them so i am guessing it doesn't entirely matter?
So my preferred options are:
-Price £110 max
-Blue LED*Preferred* or none
-Quiet
So After looking at few keyboards i kind of narrowed it down to these that i quite like:
Asus Echelon:

SteelSeries Apex M500 :
https://www.scan.co.uk/products/ste...mechanical-switches-wired-usb-anti-ghosting-b
QPAD RGB Backlit MK-90:
https://www.scan.co.uk/products/qpa...idual-key-rgb-led-back-lighting-full-n-key-ro

Advices be much appreciated,or a different keyboard option. :)

I have cherry red switches in my Ducky keyboard, i've had blue/brown and red switches. Overall i've found the red best but the low actuation force meant I literally had to learn to type again. It really did feel foreign for a few days.

I wouldn't advise getting a QPAD board, mine broke within 6 months. Perhaps I was unlucky I don't know. Had my ducky for about 2-3 years now though and its still working well.

Bit of a change in subject, but currently playing Pokemon Omega Ruby on 3DS.

Forgot how much I enjoyed the Pokemon games, and makes a nice change of pace from all the FPS multiplayer I've been playing for the last 2 years.

@nascency Never heard of DAS Keyboard before.

@rob275 Never really tried Asus or QPad myself personally in terms of their peripherals lol, although of course im sure the Asus keyboard should have good build quality considering they make components and laptops. Can't really fault Steelseries but some people don't like them because they market stuff as "gaming" gear jazz but i do like SteelSeries, there any ducky keyboards around £100-110 mark? I was thinking of sticking with cherry Red myself.

@CanaryWundaboy I play Pokemon myself as a casual player,by casual i mean im not into the whole breeding and competing jazz haha,i missed out on Ruby and Sapphire when they was released on GBA but had opportunity to play Alpha Sapphire on 3ds and its fantastic. Looking forward to Sun and Moon later this year but as for my next 3DS game i'll be playing Bravely Second*Eventually, started the game but not played it since* and new Monster Hunter X generations in middle of July.

If you want quiet, I believe Black and Brown switches are the ones to go for. Red can also be quiet, but depends on the actuation force. A light switch may mean you're hitting the bottom limit of the switch as you type, which can be loud even on the linear switches (red and black), but moreso on red from my experience.

Brown switches, to me, are the most similar to my favourite, which is blue. I love the tactile feedback a blue/brown mechanical switch gives you, as linear switches can too often feel like a well engineered membrane keyboard. The downside with blue switches are the volume. They are extremely loud, however with a decent set of o-rings, they're about right for me now (loud enough to be heard with headphones on, but still not too loud that I keep my house awake typing at night). Brown switches are basically non-clicky versions of the blue, so would be ideal if I was going for a quieter setup.

As far as makes go, Qpad, Ducky and all the slightly less "mainstream" brands are great, because they're mostly companies specialising in mechanical keyboards. I personally have a Razer Blackwidow Ultimate, because like you I wanted blue LEDs, but also a black body and blue switches. I also managed to find it on sale in Currys at £65 (down from the normal price at the time of £130). I bought it nearly 2 years ago, and it's still going strong. Never had even the slightest issue with it. Turn it on, it works every single time.

Other mainstream brands to consider are Steelseries, Thermaltake (TT eSports they may be called now) and Corsair. Not got any experience with others, but those have all been good to me.
