Squadrone Rosso

Seen at Geneva yesterday. Toyota C-HR

Loved this. Confirmed as the final production exterior with interior soon to be finalised. Promised to be equally sharp & striking.

Due in the UK late 16 / early 17. Would make a great partner for the 86.

Cheers,

Simon

Had a good look at one at FRF Swansea yesterday.

Hugely impressed, completely reinforcing my "affordable car of the show" at Geneva this year.

Stunning to look at, inside & out. Very sporty stance, ditto driving position.

Very decent boot & reasonable space in the rear when set for my driving position.

Not cheap though & engine choices a bit strange / limited but overall, loved it.

I really like the look of it too, though I've yet to see one in the flesh. I was, though a little dissapointed at the lack of a more performance orientated model, with the top one seeming to be the Prius engine and hybrid setup.

The Autocar article I read on it yesterday suggested the standard turbo petrol was by far the best drive - the hybrid's weight quite noticeable and had grabby brakes.

A 1.2 turbo though. Woeful performance. :(

Had this 1.2 turbo manual for a drive-about yesterday.  Felt very nippy for a 1.2 and roadholding and steering were surprisingly good. 10 secs to 60 but it seemed livelier (not run in properly either) Visibility from the back seats was also a lot better than expected. One of these may be on the shopping list to replace the Legacy!

I saw one pull out from RRG Macclesfield last week from a distance and initially thought it was a Civic Type R then realised that it was this. Had a closer look in the showroom and I took like the looks of it both inside and out, a mix between a Civic, Evoke and classic Rav4 front. Didn't test drive one though so can't comments on the 1.2 turbo.
