The car's now back with me for a little bit to receive some much needed TLC
She was picked up from Abbey's this morning and transported back home to spend a few weeks on my driveway. Just want to say a big thank you again to @Mark@Abbey M/S and the team for everything they've done so far. It's been a tough few months but Mark and Scott kept me up to date every step of the way and have really helped me out in so many ways

It's great to see her again and even better to have her home, but she is looking a bit rough - no engine, no gearbox, rusty brake discs, filthy dirty etc

Can see through the car from the interior!

And there seems to be some bits missing under the bonnet...

I couldn't help but have a bit of tinkering time with her after so long, so decided to start fitting my aftermarket steering wheel boss and quick release, but didn't get very far when I realised I've got the wrong hub  just 1 character difference in the part number, should hopefully have the correct one soon thanks to @Tarmac

Various boxes of bits also came with the car, still a a few more bits to collect later in the week!

Last thing to do today was to put her up on axle stands and remove the wheels, ready for a deep cleaning session at the weekend (if I get time!)

V8 has been stripped, blasted and painted ready to go. Gearbox is being custom made using a BMW casing as the 1UZ only ever came with an automatic transmission in the Soarer. Hopefully she won't be sitting on the driveway for too long, we're planning to have the V8 conversion completed by the end of April/beginning of May

    The more the merrier!

Just another reminder that we'll be running the dyno again at reduced cost for the day for those intrigued to run theirs up. We have lots of existing data from these cars to give feedback with.

We'll put some food on again as per last time, hopefully we get some sunshine too

    Thanks

    Mike

Save yourself £20 and get the Mishimoto thermostat. I'd wager its the same thing in a different box.
As much as the Ace is awesome, there are plenty of other good options for around half the price.
I might be selling a decatted OEM manifold soon, I barely noticed much change in noise. It'll be cheap and many on the US forums reckon it'd be effective.

Following on from the my first post and due to having some a few hours spare today i have started to put some things on the car, anyone that has met me might have realised that i have a slight obsession with carbon, not only have i done a lot of work in the past with moulding and using carbon as a job, but i also love the way it looks as it has a more high class feel to it and also looks pretty damn good.

starting with the interior, i have always hated the very stock looking plastics on our cars, not only does it feel cheep and nasty it just looks poor in my opinion, so we start by stripping the front of the car till it looks something like this.

from this we can start to replace panels on the car i have decided not to document removal and fitting of these parts as its fairly common knowledge how now however i can put up details of how to if someone would like to know.

I still have some interior bits to put on the car but these will have to wait a few weeks till i get a few more things through, i love the way the interior looks with all of the parts replaced, although it removes most of the colour from the inside of the car it does provide a nice contrast from the flat black look of the plastics.

we then move on to some bracing, i had fitted these summit racing braces to my old 86 and loved the way they performed and looked these will also come in to play at a later date with a bit more reasoning behind why these braces are the best fit for my application

this concludes today's post i still have an awful lot of parts to put on the car and will try to make sure to document all of these to some degree, however at the moment a lack of time due to a change of jobs and an immanent move is proving difficult to commit time to my build.
