smudge got a reaction from Tweedbean in Camber Adjustment on Teins
Get it on a proper alignment machine, you can't judge how much to set it too while it's in the air as it'll change once it's back on the floor and under load again

Can't remember what I did then lol

smudge got a reaction from Keethos in Smudge's supercharged V8 build
Anodised brake disc bells fitted to the fronts with the new bolts from AP, new rear EBC brake discs and DS2500 pads have arrived
Tomorrow will be a good day! -
smudge got a reaction from Keethos in Smudge's supercharged V8 build
Bit of good news, new disc bolts and braided brake lines turned up and I got some wheels that I can actually drive the car on to get to and from garage for brakes on Saturday

smudge got a reaction from Tareim in tweedbean's GT86
Borla UEL manifold, Cobra overpipe, Berk high-flow cat front pipe, Invidia Q300 catback but I've replaced the resonated mid pipe with a custom straight through for a bit more volume. Suits me perfectly as it's nice and quiet in the car on a long cruise, but when you put your foot down, all hell breaks loose!
On track days I simply swap the custom mid pipe with the resonated Invidia mid pipe and it's then quiet enough for track use

Well, today, I managed to change my shift, so you can add me to the list :-)

smudge got a reaction from Ztox in Smudge's supercharged V8 build
Been busy today getting ready for the weekend
- Anodized front bells are finished and being collected later this week - New bolts to hold the bells and front discs together - New rear discs and DS2500 pads ordered (could have used the discs and pads that came with the rear STi calipers but decided to just pay out for some new ones rather than redrilling the discs) - 18" wheels sorted from a mate for Saturday so I can actually get to and from the garage All this means that the brakes are FINALLY going on! -
smudge got a reaction from remal in Why modify a new car - I don't need this explained to me but...
Just do the mods in the garage while she's asleep
When she asks why it's much louder than before, just tell her she's getting old and clearly going mental

smudge got a reaction from Keethos in Smudge's supercharged V8 build
So errrr...this happened!
Don't worry! I haven't lost the plot! Simply a temporary measure while the Rays are off to be sprayed. These are some wheels my Mrs had in the shed for her RX7
Interior is also gone to be sprayed the same colour. Looks a bit bare inside
All will be revealed in time for Trax

I'm right by Addlestone station so not far. Let me know if you ever need any help or have any queries about the car. More than happy to meet up
So far I've modified:
Suspension
Wheels
Manifold
Overpipe
Front pipe
Catback exhaust
Interior
Engine (supercharged)
and brakes will be done soon
So there isn't much left for Toyota to cover under warranty having said that, I'll soon be taking her into Toyota to fix a few niggling things like scratches on the window from the mechanism inside the door card, passenger seat has a bit of wear that has been agreed isn't within the usual "wear and tear" guidelines and anything else I can find! Only major part left under warranty for me is gearbox, but that's getting a new clutch and flywheel soon, so I guess that'll be off the list as well
As long as you take it to a dealer that knows that they're talking about (like Richard @ RRG Macclesfield) then they can justify the warranty even if you've modified. One example is a guy who had a headlight fail, and his local dealer said it was due to the coilovers he'd put on the car - RUBBISH! So another dealer took a look and agreed it was just a faulty headlight, nothing to do with the suspension and replaced it under warranty
TSS is great fun if you're a driving enthusiast. You race on your own against the clock, so there's no risk of running into anyone else on the track. You can drive within your own limits, race some cool tracks and meet some really nice people along the way too

Just the essential stickers left now, looking much better I think -
smudge got a reaction from Keethos in Toyota Sports Day 2015
The head-to-head at the end of the day is REALLY bugging me!
The guy who was making all the announcements (can't remember his name) told me that I did a 17.66 on my 1st run and then was 2 seconds slower in the next stage?! I could've sworn I was faster but they weren't able to tell me if I hit a cone or not? I can't imagine I did a 14/15 second run and then had a time penalty for the cone, but at the same time I didn't think I was slower
17.66 was the fastest time out of all the stages - WHY DID HE TELL ME THIS?! Sooooo annoyed (with myself) but still had a fantastic time
