Amongst more personal and financial issues for the last few months, I've been very quiet on the car front. Until NOW!
Heads have been dropped off to a specialist place up in Rotherham to have an overhaul. Skimmed, new valves, uprated springs, porting/gas flowing and a general rebuild of all the internals.
The 1UZ heads are known for being quite restrictive so this should free up a few more horsepower.
Once I have those back, the engine will be given back to Rogue Motorsport to rebuild from the sump upwards.

sentinal187 reacted to Adi in Brake pedal firm at first but goes soft if holding pressure
Been doing it for 2 years now, in conjunction with about 10 Car Limits handling days per year.
I wish it was all fun, but buying new tyres (PS4) every 4 month, having full service (engine, tranny, diff, brake flush) and new front pads every 2-3 month, gets a little tiring sometimes.
Not counting the cost of track days and full day instruction (which is worth every penny imho).
And the more you learn, the more you realize how much more there is to learn (and how much you forgotten since the last session). Can be a bit discouraging sometimes.
But the highs are pretty high too when things come out right.

Okay, here's a quick review of the PS4's compared to the V105's
The PS4's have a much higher level of lateral grip over the V105's. It almost feels like the limits are too high. In the dry on the road you won't be able to get them to slide unless you're really pushing it. I've tried on them on track, both on trackdays and in the sprint series. I can report they do indeed slide, but maintain a great level of progressiveness much like the V105's, but simply with more grip. They are worth up to 2 seconds a lap which makes a huge difference. Handling wise the feel is good and they inspire confidence. They do all that the V105's do but simply at a higher level.
In the wet, they are absolutely astonishing to be quite frank. I learnt this on a recent sprint in the wet at Anglesey where I just couldn't believe how good they were. Again they are still progressive and holding slides at the top of third at 85mph was no problem at all. Obviously in the wet you have to attune to be more sensitive to what is going on as the progression feels less so you have to tune in to really get the feel. This is no different from any other tyre when driving quickly in the wet. They were so good in fact I was the fastest Toyota overall all morning in the sprint series and fourth overall in the Japanese Sprint Series against 4WD cars like 800bhp EVO's and Imprezas and the like.
On the road in the wet they are probably not far off what the Primacy will do in the dry. Compared to the V105's they simply outperform them and again whilst both are progressive enough, the PS4's simply find more bite. I found when I first put them on I was under driving the car in the wet, it took me a while to get the trust that they will simply keep gripping. You can still slide it round bends and roundabouts but it takes significantly more effort than it does with the V105's and is a world away from the Primacy tyre where you can drift it at practically walking pace on a wet roundabout.
Overall the PS4 is easily the best road tyre (I'm not comparing with more track orientated tyres like AD08-Rs and 888's) wet or dry.

Alex has done a bunch of HUs on other cars and kept the steering controls so I'm sure you'd be fine. Give me a shout if you want to have a listen to it some time, happy to meet up. I think it's the same setup Alex has in his Chaser.
@sentinal187 It came from Japanparts, it's from the JDM BRZ tS. I can never seem to find the link lately, I think they call it a "centre console" or something.

Peter Collen (of AP racing) is a fountain of knowledge when it comes to picking AP racing parts.
Thanks for acknowledging me @will300
I spoke to Martin Hadland about the CP9200 kit about 4 years ago before the CP9200 was out but I knew it was in development and a replacement to the CP5200.
Ultimately I decided I wanted a bigger 355mm disc because I am supercharged and wanted to run soft street friendly pads. Otherwise the Reyland kit with the CP9200 is the best 330mm kit for the 86 if you want road and track use. The Essex parts kits are excellent competition kits but the calipers wont last very well in your winter road conditions.
So if you want a 330mm disc for road and track: Reyland 330mm CP9200
If you want a racing brake setup that can handle race pads without killing the caliper, but not a good idea for the road; Essex Endurance kit.

Car was picked up today and taken for it's first ever MOT. Only 3 years late!
The all important PASS was issued, car now taxed and pretty much ready for the road
Off to have the mapping tweaked over the next few days and then it'll be back to finish off little bits like interior, undertrays and a well needed deep clean!
Bodyshop has been put on hold until we sort the bonnet out.

Been a busy few weeks with fine tuning and tweaking the map, along with getting ready for her 1st ever MOT!
As you can imagine, I've got parts in various locations at a result of this lengthy build, so I'm missing basic things like seatbelts and side indicators 🤦♂️ but should all be sorted in time for Tuesday. Fingers crossed!

Sorry to keep you waiting!
I've been in a bad place since new year for work and personal reasons, so I haven't even seen the car myself for a couple of weeks.
Luckily, Chris from Phoenix Engine Management who did all the custom loom has been an absolute saint! Still working on the Motec map remotely in his spare time without me even asking. I can't think him enough for his efforts and I probably would have lost all interest if it wasn't for him.
I'm due to catch up with Simon at Carson Performance and Chris tomorrow, hopefully to get some more progress as it's been a tricky start to 2019 with various mapping issues.
Still a way to go yet, but we're making steps in the right direction.
Dyno time probably won't be for a while due to funds as the cost of my mapping guy and a dyno for the day will be a fair whack. But the initial fire up video shouldn't be too far away now.
Whilst Chris has been dealing with all the mapping issues, it's given us time to sort out a fuel leak, a water leak and get a new supercharger gasket from Ford USA. All the little niggly bits that you forget about and just take up way more time and effort than you'd expect.

So after meeting me at close to midnight to drop the new V8 off, Simon and the team @ Carson Performance already have it stripped down and almost ready to go back into the 86!
I cannot thank him enough for all his efforts and advice over the last 9 months. Nothing is ever too much despite the constant battle of issues we seem to have faced!

This is interesting information
Seems the Valve Springs part number although listed under different years is the same from 04/2012 to 05/2016
Then changes to another number until current build date
