Willson777 got a reaction from MartinT in FOCAL IS TOY 165 - Not that impressed?
Ive experienced Martins ‘big rig’, and it is truly amazing sound, could sit in that room every night getting comfortably numb to music!

So today they did seem a bit better, i dont know if this is a break in period, or because i had upped the volume and maybe that had ‘loosened’ them up somehow…
Ive looked at the various settings / EQ etc in the headunit and tried various combinations to little avail. As mentioned though they were sounding better now so im gonna keep an ear on it!

That's what the USB lead is for - to make your centre console USB work with your headunit and allow CarPlay to function.
I've seen some run the USB to underneath the armrest (if you have one) which is a very neat solution as that is usually where your phone sits. The problem with the centre console is you always have the lead going across the gearstick.

I just relocated with adapter cable off back of headunit usb ports to inside of glovebox. Thought line goes like this, that anything plugged in clear sight (such as in usb ports in centre console) will extra motivate thieves to break in. And constant plugging in/out whenever i leave car imho redundant hassle.

Hi Mike, I can't recall any particular event that stands out and the car hasn't been lowered in any way. The noise gradually came on over a couple of weeks then seemed to maintain a consistent maximum level.
You make a valid point though and considering the state of the roads these days it could have well been  weakened by some sort of pot-hole impact or other. I'll monitor it for now and see how we get on.

I usually do 3 or 4 70-40 sharp brakes then leave a minute or two then do 3 or 4 70-20 hard brakes. Works fine to bed in pads and cleans disc surface.
Its more for track orientation pads/discs though

Yellow stuff ask for a heat cycle after ~200 miles. Series of 60 to 10 mph breaks followed by a cool down period.

TBH with those pads normal driving will be sufficient, enjoy the drive home

Some pads need heat cycling to bed them in. Should be instructions with them if they do.

    HI everyone.
Got my car booked in at Tuning Developments later this month for the NA package plus a few extras. I'm getting yellow stuff pads and also having my discs replaced as both were flagged up at MOT.
Question is, do I still need to 'bed' the pads as the pads and discs are being changed at the same time? I've read that the purpose of bedding new pads is to get them seated properly on discs which already have imperfections etc but if they are changed at the same time is this still important?
    Thanks

I have the TD full super-resonated exhaust and UEL manifold.  I also live just outside Basingstoke.  PM me if you would like to pop over and I'll take you for a drive so that you can hear it first hand.  Much better than a YouTube video.
