Worth it if you can find one and there is still plenty of spare parts and advice available from Matt at Cosworth. I bought mine used from a guy in Northern Ireland who put his car back to stock. Keep an eye on the Facebook groups, seems to be the best way to find rare used parts.

Glad you're happy with this. I was so impressed with mine that I've kept it ready to go onto my GR86! Worth spending for a well designed exhaust

You’re going to enjoy it! Just make sure you throw it round some corners to be certain the centre silencer doesn’t hit the transmission tunnel as it’s a very tight fit.

Yes penny washers with the original springs and longer bolts will give you more wiggle room to get it sealed up.

Yeah it bleeds oil through to maintain consistent pressure. I did think about a JDM plate but that leaves the holes in the bumper exposed. You are right you do need to oil up to temp to burn off water and fuel in the oil. That’s my excuse for driving it hard every now and then.
I’ve already got the 90c stat in the oil cooler, so I just need to create a way to block off the cooler.

Thanks, @Luke I will indeed have H&S install it, I shall take a day off and let them do the fitting and snagging.
Ian has been most helpful so far!

Agree about facebook.  Lots of repeat questions and no continuity.  What is wrong with forums?  You get to know people.

You’ll love this exhaust, I’ve got it and the sound is great. No drone at all just a nice sound. Make sure that you get h and s to fit it as it’s likely to need tweaking with a blow torch to fit correctly as there are a few joins. Ian is great at h and s.

I still dislike Facebook's haphazard nature and threads that get quickly lost, so I'll continue blogging here.
I finally got truly fed up with the temperamental nature of my TD exhaust, the noise that is still loud, and gets a lot louder when hot, and its poor build quality (I've twice had to have the end welds on the super-resonator re-made).  Not to mention the front dampers that were destroyed because they used a mole wrench on the piston struts.  That, together with all the trouble I had with my TD manifold burning the top hose, means I want rid of the last bit of TD from my car.
I've decided, based on videos, owner reports and talking to Hayward & Scott, on a new exhaust.  I'm having a bespoke one made using their large silencer, dual Helmholz resonators and tips.  I specified 60mm stainless steel as they said it's good for up to 350bhp and I'm never going to uprate it above the 300bhp it's pulling now.  I want it quiet!
They report 88dB at 5000 rpm with a stock engine, so add 2dB for the supercharger.  That will comfortably beat the 100dB or so that mine creates using my SPL meter at 1m distance.  More importantly, it will be much quieter around town, there should be no drone and it will have a deeper bass note.
Installation is expected to be in about 4 weeks' time.

I'll second what Luke said - the OE seats are the best I've sat in, including motorway miles. Have you maybe not set up properly for posture? You'll struggle to find anything better.

Will the Denbies meet be coming back at all? Seemed like a good venue when we used to meet up Sunday mornings?

So far as I know you couldn’t order a pro without the boot spoiler, however they might of had a friendly dealer who swapped the boot for a non spoiler version. Either way here is my non pro with the boot lip spoiler.

Welcome to the AP racing club. You’ll enjoy the pad rattle going from forwards to reverse. But the front will really dive when you bury that pedal. Such a worthwhile mod because the brake pedal just feels so solid.

100% too close to the space ship for handbrake turns! Plus, I’m a little past handbrake turns in car parks  - but never say never I guess 😂

Thanks Luke, my previous car was black and I had a white MR2 so wanted something a tad different. Soon as I set eyes on one in blue I had to have it!

It was quite simple to be fair. Cosworth supercharger is discontinued. Harrop supercharger was not available as they halted them while they test them on the new gt86 model engine. So AVO or tuning developments. AVO looks much more stock which I ended up deciding was a big factor to me but also Fensport is closer to me than Manchester’s tuning developments. I also thought AVO was a much bigger brand with more rigorous back testing and quality management.

Thanks to this topic, I managed to install my own with no hiccups. I did have to unbolt the front seat to install it, which really isn’t too much trouble. Disconnected the battery and waiting 30mins so as not to upset any airbags. Looking forward to trying it on track.

I never realised how far forward the AVO turbo was mounted down below. What made you pick that setup?

That’s a long long list, hopefully I’ll get a few in this year providing the virus doesn’t take over.
