Hi everyone! I'm new to the group and picked up my GT just a couple of weeks ago.
Anyway, thought these meets would be ideal for a few of us to pop along to, £2 entry, in the evening so can go after work, time attack course with the fastest time winning a free track day and the track open for track time (have to book beforehand and pay for track).
Been a few times before and it has always been nice and friendly with some good opportunities to drive.

Hi to all, got my GT86 Aero a few months ago. Traded in a Mrk3 MR2 for it after owning it for 10 years, my second. Previously also owned a Mrk1. Loved the roadster but it was getting old and on a bit in mileage, when I decided to change I very quickly narrowed it down to just the GT86.
Have a 41 mile commute to and from work which is 95% motorway, so not really had a chance to play with the car yet, though have a night away in Inverness to look forward to in a few weeks.
Love the car so far, even my commute is fun. Will always be a biker at heart though, ridden bikes for over 36 years now.

Just booked this, it's guna be a busy couple of weeks....8th May my company is hosting a release event for our software which means I have to do a presentation and stuff, quickly pop into work on the Tuesday for a quick meeting followed by a long drive up to Glasgow, deliver a training course for 3 days, drive down to Croft for the weekend, race Sunday, then drive back up to Glasgow for another 3 days training, then back home again......all in the Celica and not the 86

Hey all, been a member over on gt86ownersclub thought I'd make an account here too, so just saying hello. 
I'm from around Sutton so will say hello if I see any of you guys! I have a 14 plate red 86. Don't some minor mods including black badges, sequential valenti tail lights, cobra catback and rota force wheels. 

I know its a bit of a trek but Finishline where I took mine were excellent. There were a couple of bits I wasn't happy about initially so they took it back in no questions asked and then painted and fitted the new spoiler for free to apologise for the inconvenience.

Grabbed a couple of dB readings for the HKS Spec-L with JDL manifold combo today. At start up (not a cold start though) it peaked at 86.9db. Held at about 5.5k rpm it was 96db. Should be no problem for pretty much any track which is good news.
My girlfriend also recorded a couple of drive by videos for me. They're not the best as the wind noise is quite bad and she didn't do the greatest job following the car 😂 but they give an idea of how it sounds.
 
 
Hopefully get some better clips with @will300 soon.

First video is cold start to normal and a couple of revs to about 3k and 4k rpm:-

Fitted the exhaust and Valenti centre light today with the help of @will300

Exhaust went on pretty easily - the rear hangers were the worst part. Valenti light was a bugger though as we had real problems removing the stock light.
In terms of the volume I was a bit concerned how it'd end up combined with the manifold but I needn't have worried it's pretty much as I'd hoped - quiet. I'll add some videos when I can but if you think OEM style sports exhaust you'd pretty much be there. I'll definitely have no trouble with any track noise limits.

New gear knob fitted. Even managed to catch a few sun rays on the second picture ☀️

Treated the car to a plate as it seemed appropriate 😁

New exhaust arrived today. It's the HKS HiPower Spec L with black carbon tips. HKS have recently revised the design a little so it's now listed as 90db with the carbon tips. This should work nicely with the JDL manifold to keep me track noise limit friendly. I'll hopefully get it fitted in the next few weeks and I'll post up some video clips when it's on.

Well it's about time I started a thread for my 86, I have been too busy enjoying the car to get enough time in front of a keyboard!
 
Previous car was a 380 bhp RX7 and before that it was a 350z HR, so the 86 had alot to live up to !

Since having the car I have made a few changes more down to my own personal preference. I will add these to this thread shortly.
 
I plan to run the car mainly as a fast road car with a few track days each year. Also quite simply, I love a bit of JDM!

Surprise!
After an unexpected arrival at Fish Bros on Wednesday, I was able to pick up my car yesterday afternoon!
It's perfect inside and out (now I've swapped the rear number plate bolts round so black is on black and yellow on yellow ). 
60 or so miles yesterday and off out for a jaunt around Bristol, Gloucester and South Wales today. Wave if you see me!
Interestingly, I asked the dealer about running in and was told '500 miles no more than 4k rpm and then just drive it and no inspection at 1000miles'. This is different to what's in the owners manual; so I will be double checking that but it's already good. 
 
I'm so happy with it. It's taken so long to get it that it's a dream! See you all at Japfest

I'm sorry Lauren but I too don't see any banter at all when you are constantly saying (and not just in this post) that people can't compete if you don't have the right tyres, we discussed this at Blyton and I strongly believe you are putting people off by saying that people can't compete without the right tyres etc. as you are making them think they can't take part at all, this shouldn't be the way to advertise the TSS. It should be a simple come along and see what it's all about first, then if they want to really compete, then give them the tyre spiel like we did with Tim who just rocked up on semi's, but since he enjoyed his first round, went and got some listed tyres to continue the season with.

Sorry for jumping on this so late, not been on for a long while but looking forward to seeing what you get dude!
Going to go off topic slightly but for all those wanting to give TSS a try please do, don't take what Lauren said too seriously, just because your tyres might not be on the list, does not mean you can't take part in the TSS, it just means you might not be competing directly against Lauren and the others in N1....but who cares, if you've not got much experience, I still think the TSS is a great place to gain experience and personal development.  Don't worry about what others are doing, just see what you can do and if you can improve.  Get a feel of track driving without the worry of others i.e. on proper trackdays.  Yes they can be more value for money but again as you can get more track time but you could be surrounded by a lot more experienced drivers going a million miles per hour which might put you off from trying so I strongly suggest giving TSS a go.  Then if you get into it and you actually want to start competing then you can consider your tyre choices and other supporting mods to help compete with, but until then, please don't be shy and do join in!

It sounds pretty fucking awesome with the Tuning Developments UEL manifold. Will get a video clip at some point! Still think it'll be too loud for track though
