I'll measure them tomorrow. My guess is about 4 mm.

The TMPS sensors are attached to the valve and are £150 each to replace, also need linking up to ecu. Managed to snap one .

Are they really programmed to each wheel position? How would tyre rotation work?

Imho this video is rather good on describing strength and weaknesses of cup2.
 

They are still listed as a road tyre, so I would use the same sort of caution that you would do if the standard primacy tyres are fitted, which is to slow down when the rain falls. 

I found them OK in normal road use but I'd suggest extra caution in heavy rain - they're not fond of standing water!

I did contemplate putting 16s on with lower profile tyres to help with gearing but just never got round to doing it, I can't see any issue other than possibly having the car too low & scraping on the ground over bumps etc. you'll just have to calculate the standard rolling radius against the smaller rolling radius that you will be going for and see if you can safely drop the car by that much

Depending on your budget I think fitting the lightest wheel you dare would make more of a difference than specifically selecting a size

It will work, even better if the 16" wheels are as light as possible like say CE28's. All about reducing the rolling radius of course.

Welcome! I did a few track days on stock pads. IMO when they start to fade it's time to give the car a rest anyway. 

Thanks for the offer Deacon but I've just ordered disc and pad sets from EBC Direct. Need them fast as I'm hillclimbing next weekend  and want it sorted before then as the car's going in for the bodywork to be fixed next week and then we're off to Belgium .
