Rich reacted to Lauren in VSC Sport mode
Just a tip, but I generally drive most of the time in VSC sport mode. However, if I know I'm going to likely need to turn right out of a junction quickly, I also turn the traction control off (one press on the traction control button which is the left one) as otherwise the traction control will curtail a quick exit.
The traction control will come on again when you exceed a true 50 km/h.
The reality of VSC Sport Mode though, is that it does allow a little slip, but really not very much. The car is far better with everything turned off, but obviously you need to know what you're doing. If you're going fast down an A or B road, then it's fine generally in Sport Mode as you don't want much slip anyway at higher speeds, at least not on the public road. But at lower speeds it's more of a pain.

Rich got a reaction from Test Drives Unlimited in Snetterton Trackday April 27th
Over on Ade's build thread, a few people mentioned going to the Javelin trackday at Snetterton on April 27th. I thought I'd start a thread to avoid it cluttering his thread to gauge interest.
So is anyone else up for this? Best to get booked fairly soon as it's starting to fill up!
Event page here: http://www.javelintrackdays.co.uk/trackday/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.browse&category_id=1240itemid=11
Confirmed on track:
1) Rich
2) Ade
3) DanJ
4) Test Drives Unlimited
5) Paul (CanaryWundaboy)

This'll be a good test for my new exhaust and remap. Better get it noise tested first though...

Rich reacted to rob275 in Unexpected things you Disike about the GT86
The heated seats aren't on constantly, they turn on and off to keep the temperature at a norm. So you will feel them warm up and they will seem to have turned themselves off because they are up to temp. They should be warm within 30 secs though!

Let them go @Test Drives Unlimited! Their cars are inferior to ours! Everyone knows the gt86's have far more fun

I have just booked that week off work (and Friday 8th). Lets do this.

I might be up for Snetterton in April, I'll have to check dates. I have relatives out that way which makes accommodation cheaper.

The day after mine is booked in at TD. Maybe we'll have to do a comparison at the open day.

Rich reacted to Mike in Bedford trackday 29th Feb
Absolutely awesome day, missing being on track the past couple of months. The plan of taking it easy went out the window rather quickly
Suspension worked perfectly (thanks for the settings @Lauren) - had it running on just the g-force with a starting point of 44, didn't notice it go fully stiff but did see it in single figures (not that I was looking at the display...)
Called it a day after a coincidental 86 miles as the fuel light came on, not bad from a full tank
Shame I didn't get to take Nick out for a passenger lap, although with Faith saying I was worse than her for throwing a passenger about, it was probably for the best!

Top day out. I manage to not even spin, and the tyres and brakes appear to still work, so double bonus.
Great to see everyone there, roll on the next one!

Rich reacted to Mark@Abbey M/S in ACE Header for RHD cars in @ Abbey Motorsport
The only part on this ACE header that will be machined welded will the 4-2 collector merges ACE have told me this AM.
The headers at today US$ currency £1-00 = US$1.39 are as below;
£1096.56 inc vat for a single item.
If we do a group buy of 5 or more headers cost will drop to £974-78 inc vat.
We are also looking into developing a new Larger capacity HFC for the 2nd Cat position, this will 1, help keep the noise down when fitting the ACE header and 2, make the car MOT legal with regards emissions. Both the Berk and Cobra struggle to make emissions with a de-catted header. The CAt brick will be between 75% to 100% larger in volume.
Any questions ask away.
thanks

Okay I've finally bitten the bullet and booked my car in for a remap at Tuning Developments for 20th March. Felt it could do with a treat in time for the opening round of the TSS, will be very interesting to see how I get on. Reckon I had a date booked within two minutes of messaging Mike! How's that for a speedy response?
Also ordered a pair of Yoko V105's so I can lose the Contisport Contact 5's currently on the rear in time for the TSS too.

I thought so too until I got back to the pits and it refused to idle without stalling.

Rich reacted to Paul in Bedford trackday 29th Feb
I'd like to thank everyone who gave me a ride during the course of the day, I had a great time even without taking my own car out on track. I feel much more comfortable with the idea of going out on track myself next time but will definitely be booking some tuition (and trackday insurance!).
Special thanks to Rich and Keith for ferrying me to and from the car park multiple times as I would have been stranded without you! Special thanks also to Mark@Abbey for the drinks and doughnuts in the garage!
