Guilty pleasures. What would you give up your GT86 for?

There isn't much, but on the way home today stopped at the supermarket and spotted my lottery win car. Classic Porsche 911 2.4. Gorgeous, and even the right colour.

If we're talking in the same kind of price range. Mazda RX7 or a 930 Carrera SC. If we're talking money no object... Ferrari 288 GTO or Koenigsegg Regera!

This is a buddy of mine's 912. He bought it for £11k a few years ago, restored it himself and it total it owes him around £20k. Last time he checked, it's market value was £55,000 :o

As nice as it is, I wouldn't give up the GT for it.

However, that being said, I very nearly DID give up the GT86 a few months ago when an R32 Skyline popped up at Abbey. I know everyone raves about the 34's and the new 'R35', but I've got a soft spot for the 32. The one at Abbey looked very similar to this:

Didn't say it had to be in decent working order

That 911 in my first post would have been in the twenty grand range when I should have bought one in the early '00s. 911s weren't expensive back then. They've shot up recently - even decent impact bumper cars are well out of my league now.

Probably just as well. Similar appeal to the '86 though - earlier cars have less power and less grip so more fun as a road car. Nice though they are - the 86 scratches the itch and I simply wouldn't spend that much on a car...

That high revving 6 pot sound

Yes it's good. I wouldn't personally swap mine for a cayman, having driven the previous generation cayman and booster s, but a gt3 should be a good step up!

2.7 non s mk1 Cayman for me please. In black ideally. Drop on a set of Bilstein b16's and some light, black wheels and job done for me.

Isn't the idea of a guilty pleasure that it's something out of the ordinary, and perhaps even worse than the GT86? I'm sure most GT86 owners would take a 911 GT3 or a Cayman over a GT.

I expected more along the lines of Citroen DS or some obscure old school japanese cars, not a list of every car everyone wants.

Something out of the ordinary to please you.

I've always admired the escort rs turbo. My friends mom had an xr3i but the first time I went to ford fair as a child and saw an escort rs turbo fly down the quarter mile, I wanted one.

One of my old hair dressers had a Sierra cosworth which was also stunning. Full rebuild with a new white paint job.
