Monzasport have their 2.1 demo car up for sale and also fit the kit so if you want someone south of London it might be worth having a chat: http://www.monzasport.com/used-car-subaru-brz-coupe-510

Big price drop on that is was up for 30K. These are really good guys they are down the road from me, know them as an alfa specialist as a few of the guys at work have had them.

Thanks Guys!  Been over to Monzasport today.  You can guess the rest.  They are great Guys there and they were so helpful.  Won't be buying their BRZ but we are very sold on the Cosworth power pack.

Woo woo :-) when will you be placing the order?

I want to try out a Cosworth charger, I know Will e-mailed Matt from Cosworth to see if people were allowed to test drive their demo car and the answer was no :( Not the way to go if you ask me, the only way to demo their kit is to do what Subota Boy did and find a dealership who happen to have one and is trying to sell the car.....sadly none near the midlands :(

I was very lucky to be steered towards a car local to me, and the test drive was a revelation.  For me the Cossie kit ticked all the boxes, and showed what a capable car the GT is, bearing in mind that the car had standard suspension, brakes, wheels, and even tyres!  This enabled me to make a decision without having tried all the other combinations, because it meant I could see how the system would suit my particular range of mods.  You are absolutely right to require a test drive as only then will you feel comfortable about the financial outlay.  I will say that the technical support I am receiving from the Guys at Cosworth, in order to get the correct map set up for my exhaust system, is very comforting.

Regards

Keith

I think the problem is that its their development car too and currently its not in stage 2 form.

If anyone wants to contribute I'd quite happily convert my car to become a Cosworth demo car  ;)

(By contribute I mean pay for it... don't have the cash at the moment :( )

Got a quote from a 3 month flexi hamster advertised Newcastle sponsorship loan company who will only let out £500 at a time over 3 months, I'd need 10 loans for 5k with a total repayment value of £7200.

A spanish friendly loan service is quite happy to spread the cost over 2 years for the same amount (5k, 7.2k payback), but I'd need an amigo to sign the paperwork... then I don't have to pay it back and they can  :D

How much is this including fitting? No doubt this is something I'll be interested in if I keep the car. Will the garage that fits this take over the warranty for the engine or are you screwed if it all goes terribly wrong in the future?

Cosworth have stated that the power is declared to be safe on the base tune. Obviously standard warranty only applies.....

The harsh truth of it is - probably not, besides goodwill. Very much 'at own risk'. Which is why I'm leaving it for now until I've got some value out of the warranty...

I'd bet my left testicle that if you fitted the cosworth kit and used the cosworth designed calibration file, and you blew a rod (thats the weak point) or anything caused by fitting the kit, cosworth would want your car to investigate and get it back up and running for you. They have a reputation to protect after all and wouldn't let a customer go with a bad taste in their mouth.

If one of your rockers goes (common problem of the fa20) or any other manufacturing issue then you would be on your own I suspect.
