Whine is great and adds much character to the burble-less lump.
Wonder if the Sprintex 335 whines even more; guess we will find out in the new year

SpecialK
Shell V power fuel.
7 lb/ft dip is that worth worrying about
or smoother like a normal dyno;
Thanks

Ok New update, had the RaceSeng 70mm Sprintex Pulley fitted on Monday (thanks for fitting me in at short notice and apologies for ruining your Monza weekend)
Needless to say i'm please with what they have managed to achieve. I was at brands Hatch today with a few people, Keith, Nigel and Simon also made an appearance with a mate of his. Weather wasn't great so I couldn't fully test the new pulley out and quite frankly I am glad for the Traction Control... I'll let the video do the talking! I think Simon soiled himself, through fear of life rather than my driving ability...

Back to Abbey this week for smaller pulley, tuning and catch can.
Then some track time I think..... bit of Brands maybe.
Done around a thousand miles of gentle running in on the new built motor and you have to admire how the Sprintex unit improves the appeal of the car even for day to day driving. Just having decent in gear acceleration in 5th and 6th makes for a handy overtaking tool and gives easy pace pick up in UK A road and motorway conditions.
Loving the little turbine whistle you get at low revs

LFA reacted to rob275 in TSS Round 2 - 15th June 2014 - RAF Woodbridge
It was great, it's been my 2nd sprint with the Sprintex and it performs very well. The only downside to it honestly is my driving ability. Any track work honestly is fairly new to me, but given this is my first RWD car and the first car i've ever done any track work with i'd say i'm not doing too bad. Still have an awful lot to learn.
But it's smooth and easily controllable for even me which is what I like about it, air temps a little hot at times, but nothing too bad, oil was fine etc. You should try and get to one or two of the sprints. Would be nice to see how the sprintex can perform with some capable hands.

No, but the issue is intake temperatures. You'll start hitting a wall between the 72.5 and 75mm once the charge temps rise and they do, quickly.
High compression combined with high cylinder temperatures is a cause of knock, which is why I assume that Ed has gone for reducing the compression as it makes the heat element less critical. You lose power by dropping the compression ratio but then by increasing boost you'll make up for it and be better on the engine.

It's probably worth noting that Ed went for the pistons & rods purely because he will be pushing his 86 hard on track. There are plenty on 72.5's in the states with no issues as far as I am aware.

This is bar far the best modification anyone has done for me. A s.c kit plus a built motor. Out done all even big power turbos. Good job l.f.a and mark we need to talk after my s.c install.. Liking this indeed!

Picked up the car today First impressions on the Abbey engine build; very good.
600 miles of restraint ahead of me then it's back for further mapping work and smaller pulley.
Oil pan looks very nice in the flesh; very solid.
I'm a big fan of detail and I'm still loving the stealth oil coiler ducting by Abbey.

Yep, I'll report back with results and I think we are sticking with the existing header arrangements.
300 was a bit of a plucked from the air figure, but my real aim is to improve performance out of low and medium speed corners on track.
Secondary cat went ages ago
