Pity none of those links is that helpful as most don't really give any feedback apart from the mighty car mods one which favours the TEINs. There's loads of us that have TEINs and many of us have run them for years. They are reliable and work well with the car. I've had mine on for over 90K miles now. I've sprinted for four years and done quite a few trackdays and I drive my car every day which is why I have 108K miles on the clock!  It's easy to get them serviced in the UK. Whilst I appreciate this is Lucas's thread and he's selling the Cusco, I guess you'll have to search elsewhere for any feedback as apart from Lucas I don't know anybody that runs them and Lucas doesn't run coilovers his are a Cusco strut replacement with Cusco dampers and aftermarket springs. These ones advertised don't look to have adjustable damping which surprises me slightly at the price.
I don't know how much you can compare other cars, it's a difficult one. A lot comes down to the spring rates and UK roads, well tend to favour spring rates a bit lower than elsewhere. I helped TEIN work on the spring rates when they launched the Flex and this was carried over to the Flex A and Z.
All said and done I'm sure the Cusco ones are great quality, but it's a pity we don't know anybody in the UK that has tried them. You could be the first?

Thanks to @Dessss moving on to Germaner things, a lovely TD UEL manifold and overpipe popped up for sale on here. Before you could say M6 to Stoke and back, it was sitting in my boot. Now, I know many of you will think that I've finally cracked and succumbed to the frivolous world of modding for noise or performance reasons. Straying from my golden rule of only doing quality maintenance - and you could be forgiven for thinking that way. However, as it turns out, when it came to the swap over, one of the nuts one my factory overpipe was looser than it should have been. Needless to say I think I've been completely vindicated in my Columbo style hunch of choosing to do this piece of maintenance prior to that fateful nut working itself off completely and causing untold damage.

Gorgeous piece of kit this from TD, working it's way miraculously through the guts and fitting very snuggly indeed into the belly of my blue beast.

Whilst she was in with the excellent tech's at Grinspeed in Leyland (I can't recommend Stevie and Don enough to anyone in the NW). I treated her to new fluids all around (nicely smoothing things off in the gearbox) and decided this was a time to do the plugs too. It is a little early for plugs for my BRZ but as there were bits coming off in the vicinity, and it never hurts to have new plugs, it felt right. I'd read these were a bit of a job and the workshop manual suggestion to essentially whip the engine out more or less confirmed it, however, that all went away when they got to work and had them done and dusted in no time. Result.
Naturally you'll be aware it's not ideal to change the exhaust flow and run a touch lean. So, after a chat with @Mike@TD.co.uk old bluey was on the TD dyno for a leg stretch.

I've kept the 2nd cat in a desperate effort to maintain an easy MOT life, so don't be surprised to see me a little down on other charts you may have perused. I'm very pleased with the dyno work, the sharpening up of the throttle response alone is super, not to mention the fuller Subaru sound and a splash more torque when crunching motorway miles in 6th. I've not yet had a chance to take her for a spirited B road drive or try out the launch control, flat foot shifting or the auto-blip, but they're more for a splash of fun, it's all about the improved drivability and noise for me.
Anyone thinking of going to see Mike at Tuning Developments, this was my first trip and I was very pleased with the service. It can be a bit dull sitting around waiting to get your car back, but it was great to have a chat with Mike and get some first hand info on the products and services they offer. I know it's been said on here before, but I add my voice to those who have already recommended checking them out if you're considering tuning work. It's a great place to go and spend your hard earned with a genuine fellow enthusiast.
That's it for me now, my insurance premium has taken a preposterous leap in response to these recent mods updates and I really dislike handing money over to them.

I know this is really really late to post but... I just felt the need to say a massive thank you to everyone Leo and I met at Japfest Donington earlier this year. We had slight inclinations toward modifying the car, even though it's our first RWD and really our first performance car ever, but didn't take the dive until we met all of you and saw everyone's take on the 86/brz. Those of you we spoke to answered so many questions, were super welcoming and made being a newbie in the scene extremely pleasant. I know we were completely stock when we met you but you welcomed us onto the stand regardless. Thanks to encouragement and the info you gave we're well on the way to getting Kuro to where we want him. Apologies if this is a bit mushy but I'm just happy you guys have been so friendly  can't wait to meet up again in the new year!

Just had one made up by a local exhaust shop in Birmingham. It's only 2.5" though so probably not going to stay on there for more than a couple of years (if we go FI).

Just to add, make sure you get a resonated system if you're going catless to quieten it a bit. I've done this with a full TD manifold, decat pipe and resonated system and it's fine. Not massively quiet of course, but no problem with noise limits on the track which is the measure of whether it's okay or not.

    Hi Everyone,
I’m selling up to try something a bit different, but I would absolutely keep this if I could afford to! Brilliant car.
62' plate Toyota GT86 Silver, Leather and Nav, 49,719k on the clock.   I picked it up 22/6/15 from a main dealer with 32K on the clock.   Full dealership service history, up until the last intermediate service 7/12/16 (@40,937miles) which I had done by GT86 specialists Abbey Motorsport - I am ahead of schedule as this was supposed to be 50,000 miles.    11 months left on the MOT.    Harrop Supercharger (£6k - Eaton TVS 1320) and stage 2 clutch (£300) fitted by Abbey Motorsport 28/8/16 - 238hp at the wheel which translates to around 285bhp engine power. (Stock 86 is around 160 wheel hp on Abby's Dyno)   AP racing front big brake kit black (£2.2K) - fitted 5/11/16.    HKS oil cooler (£800) - fitted by Abbey 4/8/17   Overall, the appeal of this GT86 is that the fantastic stock handling and looks have been retained, while the important deficiencies remedied: power, braking and oil cooling. Including fitting/mapping, over £10K spent - these are premium mods that are sought after, and relatively recently bought.   Tires are Michelin Pilot Sport 4s with plenty of tread left. There is nothing that needs doing or fixing.    I’m after £14,995 which I think is a good price given the performance.   Give me a buzz on here if interested.   Thanks, Chris

Mya X Ferron reacted to Lauren in Perrin intake questions
Induction kits are about induction noise, that's the reason for getting one. I quite like how my now rusty Injen one sounds. Also just to point out (another annoying Americanism), is that there is absolutely no such thing as a 'cold' air intake, it can only ever be ambient temperature, i.e., whatever the air temperature happens to be.

Mya X Ferron reacted to will300 in Perrin intake questions
The TD one is the smaller 2.5" which you don't need a remap with.
  13. Thanks
Mya X Ferron reacted to Lauren in Perrin intake questions
I can't see why the intake would cause any issue over any other induction kit. I ran an Injen on mine from new, without issue. TD will simply tune the car with whatever intake is on it, so that won't be a problem. It won't throw an EML (the UK way to say Engine Management Light. CEL is the idiotproof version for Americans).
I've got the TD NA tuning package effectively running an Injen induction kit (now nearly five years old!), plus their full exhaust system and decat pipe. It's no problem at all.

I also normally reverse into parking spaces but since learning of this feature have found it really useful. Where I live there is no street lighting and little light pollution so I simply drive into my drive and flick the lights stalk giving me time to walk to the front door.

Mya X Ferron reacted to rob275 in Toyota GT86 Pearl White (62 Plate) - 38k miles ish
A sad day indeed, but after much deliberation over the past week and driving it for the weekend to convince myself otherwise i'm putting my GT86 up for sale. Given the broad spectrum of pricing on the market at the moment, i'm struggling to gauge how much this car really is worth. I guess it's worth as much as anyone is willing to pay for it and given the amount included with the sale i'm going to put this up for £14,000.
Car has just come back from having it's 5 year Service and MOT at Abbey Motorsport, nothing bad to report!
Car will come with receipts/Invoices for all work carried out on the car along with full service history and a stamped book (once I go around and get 5 years of stamps!) Car has been maintained by Abbey Motorsport who i'm sure you all know and i'm sure Mark can vouch for the car.
    Engine
ECUTEK Tune (ECU Programming tool & dongle included with sale)
    HKS Super hybrid panel filter
    Exhaust
    OEM Exhaust
    Suspension / Bracing / Other
    TEIN Street Flex coilover
    TEIN EDFC active pro
    Aluminium propshaft
    Brakes
    Tarox front BBK
Dixcel HS Front/Rear Discs & Z type Pads (Fronts obviously not on the car!)
    Cosmetic
Five-Axis bodykit (minus the spoiler) smoothed in (Work carried out by RT Performance)
    Intec rear lights
Dark smoke window security tints on rear 3 windows
    Wheels
    ROTA Titan 17x9 ET42
    Bad Bits
I'm going to be as transparent as I can with the bad bits to the car so that any potential buyer knows so see below.
Front bumper could do with being remoulded as clips underneath are not intact and little crack on front (Cost approx 300)
Tow cap is cracked (I have a replacement already it just needs painting
Drivers side window has a scratch in it but functions correctly. This is a known fault that Toyota will be aware of (the runner & glass needs replacing)
Usual cracking on edge of fibreglass, needs touchups (these are minor things that nobody notices but I know they are there.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As above if you missed the price i'm looking for £14,000 though i'm open to offers. I'd prefer to just sell as is but if anyone wants a partout let me know  I'm going to dump some old pics in until I can actually get around to washing & taking some up to date pics of the car.
