    Hello and welcome.
Can't be a lot of help comparison wise, as I've not tried the Kumho. But... the Yokohama are way better than the Primacy (obvs) and the GY Eagle F1 Assymetric 2 I had previously.
FTR though, I had Nexen Winters a couple of years ago and they were pretty good and lasted well. Not much cop when it warms up though.

So the time finally came, it's been a long time coming but I've finally got the wheels that I've been meaning to get for a while now (thanks Adam). These are the Gram Lights (Rays) 57Getters in 18x9.5Jet40 wrapped in 235/40R18 Pirelli P Zero Nero I think. Sadly they were in a bit of a rough state so had to have them refurbished but they came out nice and shiny. As you can see, they sit rather nicely and only just peeking out on the sides. What I will say though is that the tyres are a bit too stretched for my liking, probably why they were kerbed so much before so might need to go 245 next time. So far they feel good (though not done that many miles in them yet) but they'll be my daily's while my Japan Racing JR3's will be used for track only.
Not only that, some of you know that my car was at RRG last week for some work, and some of you already know what that was. As you may know, I was having issues with my previous set of coilovers (HSDs) with a knocking sound from the front right and after Lauren, Kevin and Jeff test drove my car, they could tell something wasn't right. So after a couple of rides in a couple of different setups, I went the safe route (rather than trying something completely different to everyone else....however awesome the Yellow Racing coilovers look) and brought the Tein Mono Sport coilovers with 8kg front springs and 9kg rear springs. The HSDs were 9kg/7kg and I sat in Mike's Mono Sports but with 6kg/7kg springs I think and I was hoping for something in-between the two which I think the 8kg/9kg achieves somehow. To add to this, the Tein's adjusters are all on top, it makes it a million times easier to adjust and if/when I get the EDFC remote control unit, it'll be even easier to adjust from within the car either manually or automatically. When full soft, they ride over the small road imperfections perfectly so 85% of the time they are great, however the off 15% of the time, it sometimes feels like the suspension can't react quick enough when going over big bumps and dips which causes the car to bounce a lil more than before. When on full stiff, they're great again over big bumps and dips just like the HSD's but then like the HSD's, they cause the car to jiggle around a lot more over small road imperfections, so at the moment I'm on full soft on daily drives, but then full stiff (or there abouts) when on track and if I forget to adjust them on the way home, it's not going to break my back. I can definitely feel the 9kg at the rears working, when going around the corner, you can feel the rears are on edge more which makes it a lil more drift happy me thinks.....not a bad thing
You may also know that I've been having some issues with the front K Sport brakes where I was suffering from long brake pedal travel. We couldn't see why it would do this, there was plenty of fluid, no leaks, and the pads had been replaced recently....but low and behold it was actually the pads, even though they were part worn, there was plenty of meal on them, but after 3 months (though it did include 2 trackday, 1 sprint and a CAT Driver course, but still) it had worn down to barely nothing at all (though braking power was still good, it would stop, you just needed to put your foot down a lot further which made toe heeling very difficult). I think there was actually something wrong with the pads as they were chipping a bit initially, they probably just crumbled to this state considering how much they travelled initially. But now that I have some fresh new EBC Yellowstuff pads, the travel is back to being high up again and the brakes were performing wonderfully at Anglesey this weekend, so all is good once again!
So a big thanks to those who gave me a ride in their different setups, thanks to those who test drove my car and gave me their opinions on my HSDs and thanks to Rich, Gary and everyone at RRG for their work and short turnaround on my car last week. The HSD's really weren't bad at all, I think I could have easily kept them if they weren't knocking, but now with the added bonus of no knocks, top mounted adjusters and the option to go EDFC, I think it's definitely a good option to take. Hmmmm.....just need to see what's next on the list

Mine's just breezed through MOT with Mike's UEL manifold and AVO TurboWorld 2.1/2" cat-back so definitely no issues there.
It's fecking loud though - doubt it would pass sound check at most UK circuits as-is. Having an extra box inserted in a couple of weeks.

I'm not sure it's more likely to happen to you in the next five days. I don't think we know anyone who has ever suffered this issue. I was told the recall was 'minor' and is simply precautionary. I'm on nearly 89K miles and have just driven a 1000 miles to mainland Europe and back. I didn't worry about it.

Quick spin out at lunchtime to try the new set up in the damp.
Wow - what a transformation. So much more confidence in the car. The decent damping keeps all four wheels on the Tarmac and thus grip levels much more predictable and the tyres actually grip. It will still step out but only if you want it to.
Now got the car I always wanted it to be. Grip and predictability without losing the feel and shift of balance on the throttle. Last time I felt this confident in a car on a B road was in my Puma fifteen years ago.
I think I might be in love

Coilovers all fitted! Set them to the settings Tein have in the instructions, so it's only dropped about 10mm from my rough measurements. Been on a quick test run and nothing's fell off so that's a positive!  Will give them a proper test once I've checked everything over again in a couple of days.

    Two concerns though;
    - It's says 16 levels of adjustment on the dampers, yet there's no discernible 'stop' when turning the adjuster. I've not been been tweeking willynilly, I've taken that they were at full stiff when they came in the box, but I can turn them down at least 20 clicks with no difference in feeling of the dial?! Am I doing something wrong?
    - I've no idea how to set the correct length of the ARB drop links, I've set them equal, and they don't seem to be fouling on anything, but not sure that's the right way to do it?
    Help/advice welcome!

The after graph looks a lot better.   It must help massively in day to day driving with a nice big lump of torque instead of the flat spot
I'm pretty sure I'll be going to tuning developments with mine in the future
Looks to sit really nicely on the billies as well mate, I had the B14 kit on a Golf R32 I had and really rated them.

    So after weeks and weeks of deciding what my next big purchase would be and changing my mind multiple times a day!! - I've ended up jumping on the band wagon and bought a set of these beauty's;

Going to attempt to fit them tomorrow, my experience on working on cars is minimal, but I'm pretty handy so looking forward to getting having a go myself!
Picked up some new Whiteline front drop links as I've read they are a pain to get off in one piece, but I'm unsure how to set them to the right length of them once I've set the ride height?
    Will update once they're on!
Cheers to @James@Amber for superb service too, only ordered them yesterday afternoon and they're here this morning!

Further to my post here: CLICK - job's a good'n.
Mike and co at Tuning Developments has done a sterling job, despite time consuming complications. Not sure what the problem was exactly, but they were working on it until gone 9 o'clock on Saturday night and again Sunday morning 'til lunchtime. I'm pretty sure I'm not their favourite customer right now.
    Anyway, the work.
50,000 mile interim service couple of gaskets on blowing exhaust swap front & rear tyres install Bilstein B14 suspension kit UEL manifold fit & map It's the first time I've used Tuning Developments and very happy with service and all aspects of communication. Mike explains everything very clearly so even those of us hard of thinking can understand. Not greedy either, as he could've pushed me into the over pipe but said that as I have no plans to go FI I'd probably not see the benefit, so that saved me a few bob.
Once I get back to the office I'll scan the chart, but for the moment, just be assured that the infamous torque dip has been eliminated. Not just in black and white on the chart, but according to my arse/seat dyno too. It's not been miraculously transformed into a rocket ship, but it feels like it. A bit. Mainly because it's so feckin' loud! Seriously. When I first heard it I didn't appreciate quite how loud it is - I just grinned like a kid. It has a very Subaru, off-beat, four banger, boxer burble which barks like a NASCAR on full chat. I suspect it's the AVO TurboWorld 2.1/2" cat-back combined with the TD UEL headers that's responsible. Others with stock exhaust don't seem nearly as loud. It's all a bit ASBO for my liking so am investigating how to reduce the volume a little for those early morning starts and my neighbours' peace of mind.
Extremely happy with the coilovers so far. Nice one nicebiscuit.
I think the ride is slightly firmer than OEM, but the damping over rough surfaces is leagues ahead. Grip and cornering is also much improved. Aesthetically, not sure by how much it's lowered the car, but the wheel arch gap is reduced a little so guessing maybe 3cm(ish).

Oh yes, Mike (the b*st*rd ) took me for a spin in their turbo charged car. It's a very nice implementation - not savage like some of them, but a steady surge of increased power and torque. One thing that's hilarious is the 'screamer pipe' I think he called it. It's brilliant! One day, I will go for one of the FI mods, but not today.

Thank you for all the previous posts, which I found interesting and which helped me make a decision.
I ordered a Blitz SUS air cleaner and a Milltek non-resonated exhaust, both of which were fitted two days ago by RRG Macclesfield. Yesterday we went on a club run through lanes in Lancashire, ending up at the wonderful Fred Dibnah Heritage Centre in Bolton. We used motorways, A and B roads and even lanes to get there.
We found the sound levels on each of those types of road much more realistic of a proper sports car - we were in the company of Aston V8, Frogeye Sprite, TR6's, TR7 and an XK 150! Yes, it's louder on start-up, but what a lovey sound!
Not only that, but I found the driveability was much improved throughout the rev ranges used on such a variety of these different roads.
My car is a JDM BRZ and it was welcomed by Richard McKay and his team at RRG, even though they are Toyota dealers! They were most helpful both for the ordering and fitting and also for the service I had the previous week, so Thank You guys and to Lauren for recommending them in the first place.
    Happy motoring!
    Barry.
