Willtl got a reaction from Leeky in Paintless Dent Repair Recommendation - Midlands?
I had a dent on my door recently (looks like someone opened their door into it). I found a paintless repair place but due to the location of the dent they couldn't repair it. I got a quote from chipsaway, a local garage and also the Xpress centre found at some Tescos. Xpress was the cheapest and went with them, very happy with the results.

I'm sure we all would have loved a car like this when we were 18, he is just living the dream. I agree though that 2K per year for insurance does border on ridiculous, but the younger generation do love their instant gratification! Having said that, when I was 18 I had a Ford Capri so I suppose I'd also be looking for something sporty as an 18 year old in 2018. But I would not have had anything like 2k per year for insurance and my Capri cost me about the same as one year of 3rd party, fire & theft.

I have a bit of an issue with rust (probably due to my early car days where my Ford Capri's body was basically rust, fibre glass and filler) and I can't have a car knowing it has rust or worrying that there is a potential rust entry point. For me, taking care of that is more important than ensuring paint work is 100%. I'm a bit concerned that the dealer is trying to take the cheapest option, will Chipsaway be using the correct corrosion protection or just rubbing off the rust they see?

I would ask the dealer to put in writing (an e-mail) the maximum they are prepared to pay for the repair (tell them that it is so you can show it to your local body shop so they know what budget they are working to so you don't raise suspicion). I would also ask your body shop to put in writing what they think needs to be done with the cost. This should then be your starting point for discussion - tell the dealer that the body shop has identified what needs to be done and you are happy for the dealer to do the work, but they must put in writing what has been done because if the problem comes back in the future, you need to have a record of what was done.

Just get a good old fashioned crook lock/stop lock. Alternatively, if you have keyless entry, simply swallow your keys.

Just wondering, have you blocked the noise generator tube? I had the same sort of thing after fitting my Milltek system and found plugging the tube helped quite a bit.
You don't need anything special, I just plugged mine up with the 12v cigarette lighter cap from the glovebox.

Looks like this. It's under the carpet behind the pedals. Just plug it with anything.

I noticed this with my old Ford Capri (although as I'd had it resprayed and painted various parts myself that may have been part of the problem). The solution I used was to put a blanket under the car cover.

Willtl got a reaction from Mark-in-Stoke in Be VERY careful who you buy parts from
I think the lesson learned here is not so much to be careful of who you buy parts from, but where they are based and the value of the parts. I don't want to appear to come down on the side of the seller, but most sellers will only return your money once they have received their items. I've returned £100+ items to Amazon and they aren't going to give you your money back until they've received the items and checked them over - it is to be expected and a disadvantage of buying something on-line rather than walking into a shop.
I know it is a massive inconvenience, but with what I've said in mind I can't see how they can be expected to handle this any differently. If they are cash rich and want to go the extra mile they could send out a replacement/refund in advance of you returning your part but honestly, how many companies can afford to do that?

    Yes, very straightforward. Steps are:

    Synch trophies

Back up existing hard drive to an external USB drive (this takes 2-3 hours). If you don't have an external USB drive, backup at least your game saves to a USB stick or cloud storage (but then you'll have to download/reinstall your games)

    Install new drive (a doddle)

Download latest version of PS4 OS from Sony's site to a USB stick

    Restart PS4 in safe mode.

Choose option 7 to restore from your USB stick

Restore your backup (another 2-3 hours)

Wow, planning ahead slightly! If you look at the 2nd hand BRZ market now you should find one for £16k so I'm fairly certain £15k will get you one in 3.5 years time.
I bought a BRZ for the same reason you want one, the exclusivity. I think the prices hold slightly better than the GT86 because there is only about a tenth as many, but as I said above you should still find one in your price range.
I don't think you'll have any problems with these cars. My first car (when I was 19) was a Ford Capri. RWD and no driving aids. I once did a 360 spin in the snow at a roundabout (without even trying, how good am I). Like any car, be sensible and you'll be fine.
