Guest 86guns Report post Posted May 17, 2018 Can anyone tell me if there is a knack to pushing the dipstick fully home? No matter how hard I push it in it only goes as far as seen in the photo. I’ve tried every possible rotation. Either I’m being a dipstick or something is stopping it going back in.
nikndel 509 Report post Posted May 17, 2018 Can you see where the tube goes in has it buckled somehow?
Lauren 2259 Report post Posted May 17, 2018 Just wiggle it a bit should go in easy enough.

Andrew Smith 156 Report post Posted May 17, 2018 When pushing the stick in, hold it very lightly so that it can find its own orientation
Dave86 33 Report post Posted May 17, 2018 Grab the shaft in your hand and thrust it and up and down a bit. You may end up with stuff on your hand. Oh wait, this is a car forum. 1 5 Paul, SimonB95, Gary p and 3 others reacted to this
Guest 86guns Report post Posted May 17, 2018 Should the bracket that holds the tube be 90 degs to the engine and should the tube enter the engine at 90 degs? Mine seem to be pushed over to one side a little.

Andrew Smith 156 Report post Posted May 17, 2018 Just had a look at mine at it is sitting at a difference of 90 degrees to yours. Pull it out and rotate 90 and slip it back in.
Guest 86guns Report post Posted May 18, 2018 Finally got it in. Twisted it all ways. Had to give it a right thump in the end. There’s something amiss somewhere.
gazza82 41 Report post Posted May 18, 2018 Shouldn't need to thump it ... thay's just likely to bend something!
