The car is a very good sales tool
I drove it on Thursday and loved it so much I placed an order the next day.
Playing a similar waiting game now, can't wait!

The Le Mans classic runs from Friday the 8th of July until Sunday the 10th if you include qualifying. I was just wondering if anyone else was going down to the circuit.

    Time for an update
So as with the other thread I put up explaining the demise of my FA20, we suffered a small end failure with the HKS Stroker kit on piston 4 which caused the rod to windmill round inside the crank case and just destroy everything

After all this, I quickly fell out of love with the Boxer engine and began to look at alternatives. It seemed like the right time to do some research on V8's which has always been a dream of mine to put into the 86.
After lusting after an LS engine swap for ages, I came to the conclusion that I just couldn't justify putting another £20,000 into the car when I can use a 1UZ engine from Lexus which is a strong, reliable block that can give really good numbers with some forced induction.
So I started to work out how much I could sell all my engine parts for and it worked out almost exactly what I needed to complete a supercharged 1UZ swap  I'll be using the services of Nev at Driftmoto right next to Brands Hatch who has a wealth of knowledge putting these engines into various cars. Here's 1 that he's built for his drift Corolla, currently running around 800bhp on ITB's

We'll be developing a kit with Rotrex so that will keep costs down while we essentially do the R&D for a "bolt on" supercharger kit for the 1UZ engine. This should boost it to around 400bhp+ which is plenty for the little 86
I've been struggling to move some of the more expensive parts such as the Sprintex 335 supercharger and HKS Stroker kit, but things look to be just about falling into place  finger's crossed!
On the subject of HKS, @Mark@Abbey M/S has been absolutely superb in talking with Maz and HKS to get a resolution that suits me. We have agreed to a replacement stroker kit which will be sold brand new to someone along with the cams. HKS were also discussing giving me a replacement crank case but this would obviously be useless to me now so they have very kindly agreed to compensate me for part of the cost of the crank case, to go towards my new project. I really can't thank Mark, Maz and HKS enough for helping me get the perfect resolution to this difficult situation!
The next few months will be spent getting everything sorted for the 1UZ swap. First thing is to send the block off to the blasters to get soda-blasted down and painted to make it look nice and neat. Then Nev and I will be spending most weekends getting it all put together and running. Updates might be a bit slow during the install process simply due to the fact it's a completely custom project, but it'll be so worth it!

Finally got the dent in the roof fixed, also had the front end sprayed, not 100% happy with the colour match though.

Started to do some suspension/wheels upgrade

    Enkei rs05rr  8.5 Frt 9.5 Rr x 18 ET42 , Dunlop RT Maxx 245/40 x 18 ( maybe I should have gone for 235/35 x 18)

HKS Hipermax IV GT damper set up (lowered another 10mm from Stock HKS setting dampers set to 15 mid way at the moment)

Super Pro rear lower arms and track arms to allow the rear cambers to be set up correctly

Already have Super Pro front lower arm bush upgrades fitted

All set up on our in house Hunter Hawkeye Alignment rig

    At the moment suspension settings are;

     1.5 neg front camber
     1.0 neg rear camber

0.1 degree toe in rear track
0.1 degree toe out front track

still running stock roll bars all round.

He's using 5/6kg same as me. This was a rate I asked for Tein to do for me, which was checked with Tein Japan and then air freighted over. The usual choice outside the stock 7/7kg setup which is a bit much on our roads is 6/6kg because when you lower the car it affects the spring rate and so pretty much everyone runs a 6/6kg or setup or equal front and rear.

However I wanted the car to be able to transfer weight and particularly to load the front. I must admit compared to other cars with the 6/6kg setup I've tried the 5/6kg seems to help me alleviate understeer more. So driving say Spec K's car with 6/6kg I did notice more understeer. Depends what you like though of course.

You will need offset bushes for the rear lower wishbones to get the camber right.

Well that doesnt answer his question lol! Rod, you can turn the edfc off completely if you want or have it on with a static setting. Your wife can have a preset soft setting and you can have a stiffer setting for fast road.
Best of both worlds without having to manually adjust the damping

Hi Rob. I was the one there with my reluctant wife that you let look at your engine and listen to the car.
