Nice shot from Cadwell Park today, after expecting rain all week we were greeted with glorious sunshine all day. Superb track, loved it and definitely have sorted my previous brake woes with a change of pads to Performance Friction .08s

I took my better half out yesterday in my car for the first time since all the mods were done. She was quite impressed with the grip and lack of body roll. Also she agreed it rides very nicely when moving at speed and better than our Mercedes.
Straight line what she was expecting but breaking not so much. Stops very quickly with the AD08Rs
She liked the exhaust note too which is a bonus although like me found it a tad loud when cruising at 80upalongs.
So good result. My aim was always to keep it family friendly. :-)

Hate to be picky but it's not a polish.

Here is a quote from a detailing website that may solve your problems.
"GYEON Q2M WETCOAT comes pre-diluted to the correct strength for safe exterior use, and should be applied to completely clean, wet surfaces at the end of your usual wash process. For best results, spray GYEON Q2M WETCOAT onto small sections at a time (it’s safe for use on all exterior surfaces) as thinly and evenly as possible (as an approximate guide you should be able to treat an average-sized car using less than 100 ml of product) and then leave it to dwell for 1-2 minutes (less in direct sunlight) before rinsing it off thoroughly (the use of a pressure washer is recommended). Once all sections are treated rinse one final time (to ensure every last trace of residue is removed) and then towel the car dry, or else rinse it again with filtered water if you intend to leave it to dry naturally. If you find yourself using too much product try misting each panel just two to three times and then spread the product as thinly and evenly as possible using a fresh wash mitt (soak it with warm water first) before leaving it to dwell and then rinsing off."

    I think it's an expectations mis-match.
For a pretty much zero effort, spray on, rinse off product it's superb. Never going to replace or be as good as a proper polish and wax but as a quick fix I think it's brilliant.
Next time though, I'll follow the advice above - hopefully get an even better finish.

Just a thought. It's generally considered that a wax is better for darker cars like your red to give it a better wet gloss look. It's not all about how hydrophobic it is. Collinite 915 is brilliant and one tin will last you forever.

I get away with doing it once every 2 years. In between you can use chemicals to remove the contaminants. These are just spray on rinse off. Like ironx to remove the fall out and Tardis to remove tar spots and biological contaminants. To be honest I use the sprays even before claying as it makes the claying quicker.

Claying depends on the contamination. It's rare I've had to clay a car more than once a year.
Now you have it decently clean, polished and protected just keep on top of it and keep it well protected with a decent wax/glaze.

Gave the car a good some much needed TLC. I've never done any "detailing" before but I had a load of autoglym stuff I bought when I got the car 3.5year ago and never used.
I started out washing the car thoroughly with autoglym car shampoo using the usual mitt and two bucket methods and drying with a few microfibres.   Then I used the Autoglym clay detailing kit. This took about 2 hours but OMG I had no idea how much crap was still stuck to the paint! Highly recommended if you have never clayed your car before. I wish I took pics to show the dirt ut it is rather satisfying to feel the silky smooth paintwork afterwards.    I had tried using the Resin polish before by hand and found it needed a lot of elbow grease, so I borrowed one of these from my buddy:       Went over the car twice, left to cure a bit, then buffed. Lovely.    Next was the Autoglym Extra Gloss protection. Apply with microfibre, let cure for an hour and buff to a gloss shine.   And the results            and almost forgot to put on the cossy badge

14% isn't a small difference and definitely not within dyno error.
Previous findings found it to give, er, no gains at all. That was on a car where the rest of the system had already been changed.

AFAIK it's only the gear indicator that's affected as wheel speed is not determined via gearbox.

Now awaiting package number 2. This time containing Bilstein coilovers.

As per my normal approach of just doing something different to be awkward, going for B14s with the non adjustable damping. My logic is that they're biased to road use which is what I want, and retain decent travel and progressive spring rates. Run at maximum height they should give me a small drop, but enhanced on road manners (and 'better' but not optimal if I track it). And I don't particularly want to fiddle with it.

Probably just a more expensive equivalent of a Tein Street Advance but without being able to dial in the damping. But there you go... Someone has to be different

Now if it had been a cassette deck I'd of laughed!! Can't beat a bit of retro, could have dug out the tapes from when I recorded the charts and tried to time the recordings to cut out the ads and talking lol

That question is fairly simple I think. There's actually little difference between b6 and b8 in terms of damping. But b8 just has shorter stroke to match with shorter springs.
So given that shorter springs are by definition likely to need to be stiffer, a b8 set up is likely to be firmer.
So as far as I can tell the pro kit b12 is b6s and relatively mildly shorter eibachs. Going to try that, as I could always put the stock springs back on with the b6s if it's too much.
I've looked at coilovers, but like you I'm looking for an improved road set up, and the spring rates just look too firm for the road and typically suspension travel is reduced which seems to be the last thing the 86 needs.

So - trial fit of wheels. A bit chuffed. Slight increase in width and offset much improve the car over stock, the black and red combo works, and though almost everyone on here will disagree, I can just about get away with leaving the ride height as standard. 20mm lower would no doubt be better still, but it's improved over stock as it is, and I don't want it lower this time around for many reasons.
So I'll get Bilstein B6s ordered, and the car is also booked in for filter, UEL manifold and Ecutek. Nearly done for the spec it'll run for next couple of years...
