Came across this brochure giving full details of the MY2017 Brz - mainly based on the US market but with details of RoW cars too. The 86 will presumably be almost identical.

The good news is the $250 refund is worth £20 more than when you bought the manifold, or £40 more if going for the full refund thanks to the £ crashing. I don't know how difficult it would be but I'd be tempted to take the $250 refund and try to sell on the manifold as spares/repairs for someone to have a go at fixing themselves, or if they're happy to live with a whistle on a manifold.

After spending what feels like a large chunk of my last week trying to find an insurance company that will cover me with my current modifications and potential future plans it was proving difficult.
One phone call later; competitive price and friendly staff.

To be honest there are a lot of people on here running different FD's. With regards to 0-60 times I don't to my knowledge know if there are any published anywhere. The acceleration improvement obviously depends on the drive you go for, you need to weigh up practicality though. It will rev quicker and mean that on the motorway you are sitting at say 3500rpm instead of 3000 for example. Fuel economy can be affected but if you're doing sprints in particular it could be a worthwhile investment.

It won't put any more strain on the transmission though, i'm sure someone will be along to correct me shortly

I'll leave someone with more knowledge to add to this for you though.

Vehicle Excise and Registration Act 1994 31A Offence by registered keeper where vehicle unlicensed (1) If a vehicle registered under this Act is unlicensed, the person in whose name the vehicle is registered is guilty of an offence.   So both registered keeper + Driver (if not same) are guilty of the offence. (Like allowing somebody un-insured to drive awards you points)
They can indeed, the DVLA have cars with camera's (Example) specifically checking tax.
