  1. Stripped mods from car as had to insure it just lives in the garage now and insurance is too much with mods due to having no claims on a different car. So for sale is: Borla UEL Header (No silencer) Full H&S Exhaust (No silencer) Combined this means there is no silencers or cats in the whole system. Therefore very very loud. Had it on 2 years, never had issues with police although i doubt you can get into a track with them both on. can set car alarms off on cold start. Also Rota Titans 17", i think 9J? Slight curbing, powdercoated in gold. Also have coilovers, but forgot the make so will find out then put them up. One photo of wheel, not great picture as few years old. Will post one of each wheel when i get time. And will add exhaust when i find picture, as its currently at friends garage.
  2. TC Light comes on under load at high speeds. Can't really take to dealer as they wont be able to replicate. But warranty has only 6 months left so if there is common issue that anyone knows about? Engine light is due to exhaust.
  3. interested mate, let me see if i can find someone to respray. thanks
  4. After hitting pheasant need a new front bumper in grey if anyone has one

    New exhaust system.

I have UEL header and H&S to the back (no silencers no cats, just 2 H&S Backboxes). I'ts loud on cold start, loud under load. But cruising nearly no drone and can be driven very quietly. Under load can set off alarms and make children cry. :/ Although i rarely take the car to work (once or twice a month) i have a 1.5 hour each-way commute mostly the M62 motorway, no drone unless i go above 4k rpm. It's hard to get anything you want for "Cheap" especially when your playing with cars. Unless drilling holes in your exhaust is your thing Also make sure you block up that godawful induction noise.

Coffee table material right there, will go well with the new house. Sign me up Would be nice to get the price down
  9. After spending what feels like a large chunk of my last week trying to find an insurance company that will cover me with my current modifications and potential future plans it was proving difficult. One phone call later; competitive price and friendly staff.
  10. So quick one as just about to go to garage to get this rectified. In for 30k service yday, all fine. on drive home smelt bit of oil, just assumed they missed the hole a little. Got home and decided to play with suspension. lifted bonnet, oil everywhere cap on the side. They're going to "steam clean" and flush oil. what more should i be asking for other than all this in writing. Angry.

    Commuter Car Suggestions

I'd personally lower the budget from 5k and get an early 2000 e46 or VW TDI (ok the e46 had horrendous cooling problems)Buy a car that's already depreciated and if it breaks just buy another. rinse and repeat.I had a MK4 Golf TDI. (non PD version!!!) Had it for 3 years did about 160K worth of hard miles in it (i was young so i drove it above 4k rpm everywhere like a tit.) It retired it at 220Kish with original turbo, clutch and gearbox still in tact)!!!! Still have the the old girl, in the barn not sure why....

    Road Debris dents Our 86

Had an overloaded tipper go for an overtake on a duel carriageway once, obviously the extra speed loosened his load and loads of it fell all over my car, lucky from what i could tel only 2 small dents from it, and unfortunately one just on the roof. I've got used to the front end getting damaged by chips, my mileage and sitting on a motorway has done that to all my cars. when i stop using her as daily i will just replace/repair the front. the roof on the other hand, that pissed me off. as not sure what can be done. Hope you get it sorted, let me know if it was easy to remove.

    Forza 6

I wouldn't be able to relate using a controller. i remember old car games from my ps2 days, i couldn't imagine having any sort of realistic connection using my thumbs honestly get a wheel, best investment ever. I must of played 2,000 hours + on mine over the years. it cost 250 awhile back and that works out about 1p per hour. Bargain.
  15. I covered about just short of 20k in winter months this year. setting off at 4am with a sheet of ice on the road and no bugger else on it. The car didn't struggle, spin or anything dramatic. (obviously driving to suite the weather). few situations felt a bit twitchy but normally because i was taking the piss a little. been through good few inch of snow, again no problems. Fair enough a FWD car would be much easier to control and less worrying when your driving, but if you tone your speed down and dont use the accelerator on a roundabout/any corner you'll be fine. Aswell as the few years before that in the bmw some real bad weather and was overtaking stuck fwds, the whole office hates me in winter as they cant use the excuse "i'm snowed in". as "how did he manage to get here from 60 miles away in a car that is well known for its incompetence in snow and you can't make 5 minutes round the corner?" Snow is snow, put the right tyres on. drop your speed and if anything does go wrong you normally have enough time to correct. (if your driving to the conditions). I recommend nokian winter tyres. but not when its warm as they shred.

    Forza 6

Although not played Forza i've played my fair share of Assetto Corsa, Project Cars, BeamNG.drive and a short few sessions on the new Dirt. Assetto Corsa been one of the best sim-type games ive ever played. - Laser scanned tracks, really good physics engine. Not a console gamer so not sure what options you guys have but I really recommend getting a steering wheel with force feedback. I know the G27 is supported on the old PS3, i imagine ps4 would take it. But as Forza is an arcade/semi-sim type game and not specifically sim it depends what you're looking for. But if you want an indoor racetrack get yourself a decent FFB wheel, oculus rift and good chair setup. then fun begins.

    Tyres

I always buy from oponeo based on reviews from forums like this. I go through about 3 sets a year due to my mileage and heavy right foot. Prices for my last 2 orders for the 86: Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 245/40R17 91 Y V1 Quantity: 4 x 83 GBP Nokian WR A3 215/45R17 91 V XL Quantity: 4 x 84 GBP Couldn't find cheaper anywhere else. This included the VAT. I then found a tyre fitter i trusted to fit them to the wheels. rather than any back-street-garage-type who will jack your car up from the bumper.

    Boot lid and spoiler swap?

and i have a grey i'd happily swap for a non-spoiled one. (sorry to steal your thread, just incase people didnt want to respray if they don't have a red)
  21. Hey guys, Hoping this doesn't get deleted and i get cried at because this is a for sale thread but will try anyhow. I'm NA at the moment and intend on been for a good few years till i can justify a charger. This thread has caught my eye and i've seen final drive mentioned a few times just not many people taking the plunge by the looks of it. How much acceleration improvement can be achieved with a different final drive? I know the size varys so if anyone has experience i'd appreciate it. I mean, the top speed i cannot use anyway (awaiting court at the moment for an immature speed on the motorway). I've googled to try get some information in regards to finished product (new 0-60 times etc...) but cant really find much information. Will it put more strain on any of the transmission? and guessing the engine will rev up quicker? Very interesting mod that i cant find too much information about them (maybe due to my lack of knowledge on these kind of things). rgds Cal
