I've done 94K miles it is my daily car I do everything in it, I use it for my work. I've realised that life is too short to drive a boring car and that I cannot drive a boring car again. Years ago I had a Panda diesel (terrible mistake) and a DC2. I hardly ever got to drive the DC2, so I would never put myself in that situation again.
I had a decent sound system installed when I bought the car, stuff like that really helps. I stil love driving mine, even though it's a pain driving arounda the local council estate for work with it's pot holed roads and mountainous speed humps! The excitement soon comes back when I drive it on track or get a chance to play on a decent road.

Finally got the Speedline Turini's on, a long time coming (priorities shifted when I found out a little one was on the way). Really happy with how they turned out and will be interesting to see how these new Yokohama V105s perform. I actually got along with the Primacy's pretty well in dry, hot and even damp conditions but as soon as the temperature dropped and it got wet and greasy out I was definitely surprised on a few occasions. Hopefully the new tyres will be more predictable but still allow some now and again.

As its now 2017 its time for an update on my build, but first I'm going to start off by wishing everyone a Happy New Year.
Anyway back to the car, I'd originally planned to go supercharged at the end of last year, however due to a supply issue I cancelled this after a couple of months.
I then spent a couple of day thinking about what to do instead of the supercharger, I decided to stay N/A and purchase some more modifications. First on the list was a big brake kit as I've always felt the brakes on the car were lacking some stopping power. This provided a substantial challenge in deciding what kit to go for, after spending considerable time looking at the various options available I came to the conclusion that none of the existing setups matched my exact needs. After discussing this with @Ade he suggested I contact a company called Reyland Motorsport who make custom big brake kits. Over the following week I exchanged several emails with Reyland and we came up with a kit which meet my needs.
The custom kit I ended up with consists of red AP Racing CP9200 calipers, AP Racing 330x28mm discs with custom hats, brackets and Ferodo DS2500 pads. Here are some photo's of the kit:

    Fitted to the car:

I also decided to upgrade the rear disc's to match the grooved fronts, so I selected Stoptech grooved rear discs.

I still need to bed the brakes in, but they feel much better already. (Once I'm back on summer tyres that will help the bed in process massively)
The next mod I purchased was a Perrin 3" Cold Air Intake system with silicone intake tube, thanks to @James@Amber for providing this.

I also purchased MTEC shift and clutch springs. In my opinion the shift springs are fantastic, a definite must for our cars. However I don't really like the change in feel of the clutch spring.
The final mods I ordered were a HKS resonated decat pipe and Powerflex front and rear subframe bushes. I decided against fitting the decat pipe due to the extra noise it'd produce (This will be put up for sale soon).
Finally due to the change in intake I needed to get the car remapped again, this time I decided to get the car dyno mapped by Tuning Developments.
Here is the before and after dyno graph:

As you can see @Mike@TD.co.uk managed to smooth out the mid range and get a little bit more power at the top end.
One last comment, @Keethos thank you for providing the transport to and from TD.

Got the call yesterday morning - all done.
New bottom end supplied and fitted. Battery was also replaced under warranty. While the engine was out I also had a new clutch and spark plugs, effectively free of labour charge.
New engine and clutch plus transmission fluids and the new billies installed a couple of months ago, it feels like a new car again - including having to run it in again.
2.1/2 hour drive back home was uneventful, ran well.
Now have to decide whether to keep it... I've lost a little faith, but still love the car.

    Update: Another change of mind...
Just had a call from dealer to say they are going to proceed with the repair under warranty. No real indication or explanation of why, or what's changed - I'm just relieved they have.

Thanks for the warm welcome, I know the car has some history and others have had issues with the HKS kit. Frankly any car with nearly double the stock horse power is a gamble, I know that, it's the game we are in.
    Anyway....
Took some pictures the other week I thought I would share, I will start my own thread soon.

@shiftspark yes planning on big power, in two stages, around 300bhp at first to get used to that power in RWD then step it up after that and see how far I get.  Hence why I want to forge the engine.
In terms of the supercharger/turbo debate, like you say I own both currently and both offer something different.  Initial plan was avo turbo or HKS supercharger. However interested to look at other options now it looks like Cosworth are stepping up their power levels and also the TD turbo kit.  So not 100% sure which route yet, I do like low down power as that's where I spend most of time rather than rev'ing the nuts off the car to get some power.

Looks a great buy. The Mini is coming on well I decided to stick with my 86 in the end as I think I need to master rwd (hopefully lol)
Are you planning on big power ? Cosworth maybe @Ade ? Or a big turbo, I guess having both types on the Mini ? Would give you an inclination which you prefer.

    The Story

Hi all, I will start this off with a little intro before moving on to my new GT86.  Over the past couple of months I have been considering a number of more exotic cars however I decided I didn’t want to go down the route of getting an older car just so I can have a 911, GTR etc.  I would rather waiting until I can afford an nearly new version of those cars.  Therefore I decided I had unfinished with the GT86 and so last week I decided to purchase a GT86/BRZ.  Yesterday I travelled all the way to Edinburgh to collect this beauty.  The seller was a joy to deal with and the car was as clean as he had described before I placed a deposit and booked my one way flight.  Its just a shame that it took nearly 9 hours to drive home due to crazy traffic on the M6 which double the journey time.  I had to resort to plenty of sugar and double expressos in the end to keep me going.
    My other cars
This will be my third car as I currently own two others which you may be aware of, a 2006 R53 supercharged mini R53 which I am currently building which is more track focused with its cage, Yellowspeed BBK and numerous suspension mods such as KW clubsports, 2 pairs of hard race control arms, Hardrace roll centre adjusters, to name just a few:

That went from this in March, totally stock:

To its current state today, as you can see a work in progress with a full body respray to boot:

And I also own a 2014 Mini Cooper S 2.0 Turbo, currently running 300bhp and 460nm torque:http://www.minitorque.com/forum/f890/tweedbeans-f56-project-97834/MITP 2016 by James Baker, on Flickr

I also have an Evoque family wagon, mostly driven by my other half.
    My previous GT86:

This isn’t the first time I have owned a GT86, about a year ago I sold it on to Gudzy on here and since then I have wanted to get another when the time was right.  My previous one:

    My new ginger GT86:

So onto my new one, its very low mileage and it great condition.  Current spec above.
    Plans
Immediate plans for this car include removing those strips, changing those rear lights and deciding on a new colour for the wheels as the matt black is nice but you lose the shape of a great looking wheel in that colour.  Also after that drive home, an arm rest is a must so I will get one of those ordered ASAP,  After that I want to adjust the look of the car with the HT Autos lip kit potentially and get this sitting on coilovers.  After that I am planning for FI and forging.  Hopefully you kind folks will allow me a couple of test drives in different FI applications to see which one works best for my needs.  Lots more plans but lets get on to where it is now:

Last year I contacted Reiger Suspension to create me a custom suspension for my GT86.
Reiger suspension is the company that is making top quality shocks for WRC (Ford and Huyndai), Motorcross, quads,..
On my request they agreed to create a custom set for my GT86.  My wishes were excellent compliance and still having a good comfort.  Made to tackle Belgium's famous bad roads.
I had the shocks since february 2016 but are for sale now as I will change car.
They are 1-way adjustable with 3kg springs front/rear.  They're also great on Britisch b-roads!
Price when new: 3200£, now selling for 2100£!
